Studying MBBS has a soothing effect on nature.
Placements: It is a government medical college with an intake capacity of 100 students each year. This is the fourth year of the college, so no batch has passed out yet. Every medical student gets a one-year paid internship in the hospital. During your internship, you get the opportunity to serve as a medical officer. There is good patient flow in the hospital, which gives interns hands-on, practical knowledge about various cases in the medical field.
Infrastructure: The real college building is under construction, but the temporary building is adequate and complete with all the equipment needed for MBBS students. There is a fully functional library. Classrooms have air conditioning and are well-illuminated and ventilated. All the departments have separate lecture and practical halls. The hostel facilities are very good, with new construction. There is a functional elevator in the hostels, 24-hour security, 24-hour CCTV surveillance, adequate water, and a good mess.
Faculty: All the faculty members are qualified doctors with a lot of teaching experience. They are strict towards academics and expect the same from the students. Students have to be punctual and attentive to their academics. The course is very well-executed as per the norms and guidelines from the university and NMC. The CBME curriculum is helpful for making reliable Indian medical graduates. Exams are moderate; the MBBS syllabus is never-ending, so students need to keep studying for better performance in the exams. There are three major exams taken in pen-and-paper mode, with practical viva voce, two internal assessments, one preliminary examination, and, at the end of the year, a university examination conducted by MUHS, Nashik, to which the college is affiliated.
Other: There is no campus as such for the college, as the main campus is under construction. The main campus is about 61 acres and will be ready by 2026. The city, Satara, is very nice and blessed with natural beauty and historical monuments. The relaxing environment of Satara is a boon for the medical students studying there.
