My medical education
Placements: In our batch, there are no placement opportunities. Instead, there is an internship. We get to do one year of internship in our hospital itself. During this period, we will be given a stipend of about twenty-five thousand. We will be posted in different departments such as medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college is a well-developed college with fine infrastructure. Our classes have centralized AC. We have many additional buildings such as a gym, central lab, indoor stadium, and many auditoriums, etc. I'm staying in a government hostel, and in my hostel room, there are four members. The hostel mess is of high quality.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified doctors specialized in their respective departments. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Our course runs under the CBME curriculum, which stands for Competency-Based Medical Education. We have continuous class tests here. They are often very difficult.
Other: I chose this course randomly just based on my NEET rank. But now I really like my course and college. There are so many events and fests in the college. Our college gives much importance to extracurricular activities as much as academics. There are so many scholarships available, such as eGrantz.

Government Medical College, Thrissur.
Placements: We have a class strength of 175 students. The total fees are 26,630 rupees per year. This includes all the tuition fees, special fees, and van fees. Scholarships are available for various categories like OBC, SC, and ST. Also, after 4 years of the course, we have a 1-year internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. They provide a separate academic block, a well-filled library along with a study hall. Classrooms are air-conditioned and provided with smart class facilities. We have a government hostel here with 3 persons per room and a mess with a good menu and affordable rates.
Faculty: Each department has a number of faculty members who are well-experienced. Apart from teaching, they also provide individual mentorship. The curriculum is very good. They also try to keep us interested in the course. The semester exams are good. They contain both subjective and objective questions. We have to get 50% of the total score in order to pass.
Other: I chose this college solely because of my passion and interest. Moreover, the academics and other cultural activities here are very good. Apart from academics, they also provide arts, sports, and other celebrations like Onam, Christmas, etc.

Thrissur Medical College (government) review One of the top 3 medical colleges in Kerala.
Placements: There are no placements offered by our college. The maximum one can do in an MBBS course is to experience clinical practice from 2nd year onwards and practice it yourself in your 4th and 5th years. No internships as such is offered by our college.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our college is up to date and comfortable to work with. The dissection hall is always up to date and made available to every student for easier learning. The college also boasts a vast and expensive library which has not only the old medical journals and textbooks, but also the newer versions of textbook and recently published medical journals. Wi-Fi is not given by our college, it's only available in the college hostel. It is adequate strong. The quality of food at both the hostel and college is adequate. There are variations every day so that you have different food every day. There will be specials on atleast two days in a week. Medical facilities are top notch and are always available 24/7. The college ground is large. Football, cricket and kho-kho matches are held on the ground as it is big enough to host both. The cricket section has training nets and also an official Oval. The football section has the large and medium size goalposts. The college also boasts of an indoor stadium where basketball and badminton are conducted. We also have a gym where table tennis is conducted Next to the gym equipments. Regarding the gym, the equipments are modern and up to date. It is available from 6AM till 11PM and it is made accessible for everyone within the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are always strict on academics, but they're very helpful. They will always do only what is right for the students. They are all highly qualified and highly knowledgeable. The course curriculum never deviates off the relevancy. It only teaches what is needed for the upcoming exams as well as making the student ready for the higher years. Semester exams are not too hard but they aren't too easy either. A student with bare minimum knowledge cannot pass, only a student with average knowledge will be able to pass.
Other: We have lots of events being conducted by the state board (KUHS) such as Central Zone fine arts, Interzone fine arts. Added to that, each college under KUHS also conducts their own events such as InterMedicos fine arts, Vertigo sports etc.

Thrissur Medical College (TMC), established in 1982
Placements: We have 175 students in each batch. Thrissur Government Medical College, often known as Thrissur Medical College (TMC), is one of the prominent government medical institutions in Kerala, India. Established in 1982, it's known for its quality education, medical training, and a strong reputation in the healthcare field. Here’s a general review covering academics, facilities, and student life: Academics and Faculty: Quality Education: Thrissur Medical College is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and offers undergraduate MBBS and postgraduate courses in various medical specializations. Experienced Faculty: The college has experienced professors and clinicians who are committed to guiding students through practical and theoretical knowledge. Research and Development: Students often have opportunities to engage in medical research and attend workshops, though some areas could benefit from more advanced resources. Campus Facilities: Hospital and Clinical Exposure: Thrissur Medical College has an attached teaching hospital that provides students with hands-on clinical experience, treating a large number of patients from Thrissur and surrounding districts. This ensures a wide range of case exposure for students.
Infrastructure: Thrissur Medical College, like many government medical colleges, may have basic facilities in classrooms and labs but might not offer extensive modern amenities such as campus-wide Wi-Fi access in all areas. Wi-Fi Access: Wi-Fi availability can vary; in some government medical colleges, it may be limited to specific areas like libraries, administration blocks, or hostels. However, it may not be accessible in all classrooms or labs.
Faculty: At Thrissur Medical College, the academic standards are generally high, with a dedicated faculty and a structured curriculum to ensure students receive a solid medical education.

Review of Government Medical College, Thrissur.
Placements: Education is almost free. About 175 students can take admission here. All of them will get jobs. It is a top college in Kerala. There will be no tension about going jobless. We should write the NEET exam and have a good score to get admission.
Infrastructure: The college and course offer good education facilities and infrastructure. There is Wi-Fi in hostel. Labs are neat and clean and help to practice a lot. Classrooms are good with proper facilities. the library is useful for studying; all students go to the library for reference.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are all well qualified and have good knowledge. They teach through PowerPoint and lectures but for us, all the classes are boring. The course is now modified; details will be announced during admission. The exam will be tough but we can manage to pass it all.

I am satisfied with academics, campus life, and infrastructure.
Placements: Students got placements through counseling which is conducted by MCC. After 4 years of the MBBS course, every student has to do one year of internship in the hospital.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. A new building has been built with all departments. There is a central library and reading room with a strong Wi-Fi connection. Classrooms are spacious with great ventilation. Our canteen is not much spacious. We have an indoor stadium for basketball and badminton. The hostel facilities are average.
Faculty: MBBS is a very difficult course. You have to cover a vast topic. Our college conducts frequent examinations to keep up the studies along with the classes. Teachers are qualified and always available to us. We get enough time to prepare for examinations. Our chapters will get finished early. The pass percentage is more than 75%.
Other: Students must score above 630 in NEET general category to join this college. I am not satisfied with our college location.
