Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BE/BTech Programs at Gudlavalleru Engineering College

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for BE/BTech programs at Gudlavalleru Engineering College:

    * Limited Job Opportunities: Many students reported that the college provides limited job opportunities, especially for students from rural areas or smaller towns.
    * Poor Placements: Some students mentioned that the worst companies visit the campus for placements, and there are often conditions imposed by these companies, such as agreement bonds.
    * Low Salary Packages: According to some students, the salary packages offered by these companies are generally low, ranging from INR1 Lacs to INR2 Lacs per annum.
    * Training and Guidance: While the college does offer training and placement cells, some students felt that these initiatives could be improved upon. For example, some students noted that the college does not provide sufficient guidance or mentorship for students preparing for placements.
    * Industry Readiness: Although some students praised the college's efforts to make students industry-ready, others expressed concerns that the curriculum could be more updated and aligned with industry requirements.

Here are some quotes from students that summarize their experiences with the placement cell:

    * "Companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, etc., visit our campus for placements, but the salary packages offered are generally low."
    * "The college provides training and placement classes, but students with low academic scores will not get a job."

I am satisfied with the college. It still needs to improve. The college is best for CSE, ECE groups.
Placements: 65% of students are placed in my course every year. The lowest package offered is around 2-3 lakhs per annum, and the highest package is 35 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Phenome People. Around 50% of students get internships from various companies. All kinds of roles are offered such as developer, tester, and so on. According to the companies' requirements, they select the students that match their needs.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not provided in our college, even for the hostelers; they have to use their own mobile data. Labs are good, but ACs never work in the labs. The systems are good and work properly, and if there is any problem with the systems, the lab technician fixes it right there, so there will not be any problems related to labs. The classrooms and library are clean as they clean them every day. The hostel rooms are good, but the food is not good. The quality and taste of the hostel food are average, but the food at the canteen is better. The canteen food is better. The medical center is always available in the college, and they provide medical care whenever needed. Sports and games are included in our syllabus as a subject that needs to be attended compulsorily.
Faculty: The faculty are knowledgeable and have good experience. The senior faculty are very good at teaching, and their quality of teaching is good. The course curriculum is relevant and helps us develop the skills necessary for the industry. The college even conducts workshops, internships, competitions, and training sessions to make us ready for the industry. The semester exams are not too difficult; the difficulty level is medium. The pass percentage is 68% for all the subjects among the whole class.
Other: The CSE department is the best in our college. I chose this college because of its high rating in our state. It stands in the top 10 colleges of Andhra Pradesh. I wish it would be better to improve the Physics labs. Freshers' day is conducted for first and second-year students every year, and a branch fest is conducted for third and fourth-year students. Annual day is conducted every year in the month of March for everyone, and it really is a good entertainment event. Extracurricular activities are present, and scholarships are given yearly based on eligibility. The surroundings are good, and the college has a NAAC A grade for the year 2023-2024.

    Review of Gudlavalleru Engineering College.
Placements: Batch 2020, Btech in information technology, placement rate is 60%. The average package is 3,50,000. The top recruiter is Accenture. The top roles are web developer, data analyst, and business development executive. We have also provided Apache-certified internships.
Infrastructure: Coming to infrastructure, we have Wi-Fi access throughout the campus, including classrooms and labs. The labs are well equipped with the latest software and hardware, offering everything needed for coding and research projects. The classrooms are spacious.
Faculty: The teachers were generally quite helpful, qualified and knowledgeable; most of them had strong academic backgrounds, with many holding PhDs or having significant industry experience. They were approachable outside of class hours for doubts and discussions.

Totally satisfied with my college because of faculty, good library facilities, etc.
Placements: In my course, 60 percent of students are placed in various companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS, Hexaware, etc. The highest package in our course is 18 LPA. The average is 5 LPA, and the lowest package is 3.5 LPA. For our course, top recruitment companies are Accenture, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Hexaware, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. Very few students got internship from our courses, like 10 to 20 percent of them. Some of them are got internship in amazon. Roles offered in our course are Java full-stack developer, Associate Software Engineer, Tester, front-end developer, backend-developer, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in our college is good but not excellent. Wi-Fi facilities are only provided to hostellers, not other regular students. Classrooms were average. The library was good. In our hostel, the quality of food is average in the mess and canteen. Medical facilities are good, as are sports and games facilities, which are average.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and skilled. They provide quality teaching. The course is curriculum-relevant. But they trained to show the students how this works in industrial areas. The difficulty of semester exams is medium. The pass percentage is above 75 percent.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in this course. The best thing about my course is that if we can understand the concept, you won't need to prepare again and again. It will be registered in your mind strongly. My suggestion is to improve the industrial training courses and placement cracking courses more than now. It will be helpful to students for further batches. Extracurricular activities in my college are excellent. Almost all people present in college attended to fulfill the fun.

The best platform for B.Tech with really good faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: Around 80% of the students are placed in the recent batch of the Computer Science and Engineering course. The highest package of the college is about ₹31.7 LPA. The average package ranges between ₹3.5 to ₹5 LPA, while the lowest package is around ₹3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: For Computer Science and Engineering students, the facilities include well-equipped labs and Wi-Fi connectivity of approximately 300 Mbps. The digital library, Knimbus, is also provided for the students and can be downloaded from the App Store.
Faculty: The faculty for the CSE department is experienced and holds relevant qualifications, with many teachers holding Ph.D. degrees. The overall faculty, curriculum, and exams for the course are very helpful for students to succeed. There are also revision sessions for every exam, including mid-term exams.

A minimal review about my college .
Placements: 50 percent of students are placed every year in our college; the highest package in our college is 31 lacs per annum; the top recruiting companies are Accenture, Mahindra, TCS, and other companies; and no students get internship opportunities through our course.
Infrastructure: There is good infrastructure at our college. The library is very useful to all the students who are studying there and it encourages sports and all other extracurricular activities. The hostel is good, with basic facilities like a computer lab and some grounds.
Faculty: The faculty is not so good, especially those who are teaching the subject. They are not very intellectual towards the students, and they are not well aware of the subjects. Though they are teaching the subjects, semester exams are too difficult, and a greater number of questions are out of the syllabus.
Other: Today, there is a huge demand for my course, so I decided to choose it.

Placements: More than 78% of the students got placed in my college. The highest package offered was around 16 LPA, the average package offered was 3-5 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 2.5 LPA. The top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, HCL, Cognizant, and Wipro. Only 20-30% of the students got internships in my course, where TCS and Infosys recruited them. The top roles offered were Software Engineer, Software Associate, App Developer, and Web Developer.
Infrastructure: The college does not have Wi-Fi zones in classrooms, but Wi-Fi is available in the library and Admission department. The labs have a lot of computers, but practical courses are not given much importance in the institute. The classrooms are well-maintained, and the college library has only a basic set of collections. The hostel is considered to be average, and the hostel food is not so bad. The canteen is quite expensive, but the food is not worth it. The college maintains good medical facilities, and the college does not focus much on sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers are often helpful and well-qualified. They explain things in a practical manner and possess good knowledge. The quality of teaching is somewhat better compared to other facilities. The course curriculum is often relevant, but in some cases, the courses are not relevant. It makes the student industry-ready. The semester exams are not difficult, and the pass percentage is 50%.
