World Food Competiiton 2024!

April 10, 2024: A look back at the 2024 World Food Competition! Where cultural diversity and culinary magic collide! The opening ceremony, which was organized by the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, was a stunning display of world unity. National anthems resounded in the air as participants from all over the world stood together on stage, fostering a sense of excitement and belonging. Every culture contributed its distinct taste to the table, ranging from traditional recipes to innovative cooking methods, guaranteeing a remarkable culinary experience at WFC 2024!

Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management Participates in 16th International Education Leadership & Skill Development Summit 2023

June 9, 2023: 16th International Education Leadership & Skill Development Summit 2023 took place in New Delhi on 26th May. JIS University and Guru Nanak Institute Of Hotel Management received the prestigious awards for the Best University in Eastern India and the Best Hotel Management Institute in Eastern India, respectively. Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director contributed to the summit as a distinguished guest speaker. He participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion on making tech-enabled learning inclusive, qualitative, and collaborative for the education ecosystem. His valuable insights and expertise added immense value to the event.

GNIHM Organises the Closing and Award Ceremony of World Food Competiton 

March 18, 2023: The 7th World Food Competition's Closing and Prize Ceremony was held at the Taal Kutir Convention Center on February 23 by the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management. Participants from all across the world participated in great numbers in the competition. Chandru Basson from Namibia won the Best Chef Trophy at the end of the three-day mega event, while Lize-Van Der Merwe from Namibia again took home the prize for Best Cake Icing, Shubha Ray from India took home the prize for Best Fruit Carving, and Viola Hoeflien from Austria was given the prize for Best Mixology.

The event was attended by MasterChefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Ajay Chopra and Kunal Kapur along with various hoteliers from five-star resorts and other important dignitaries. That was more than just a competition; a platform to learn about global cultures. GNIHM was extremely honoured to have the support and presence of Mr Simarpreet Singh the Director of JIS Group, Mr Anmol Singh Narula the Director of JIS Group and Mr Bidyut Majumdar the GM- of Business Development of JIS Group

GNIHM Concludes 7th World Food Competition; Namibia, Austria and India Walk Away with Prizes

February 28, 2023: The seventh iteration of the World Food Competition, which just ended, was hosted by the Kolkata campus of the JIS group of colleges' Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management. 160 contestants from 20–30 nations competed in the event, stoking the kitchen fires with their 160 competitors. The three-day event, which took place from February 21 through 23, came to an end on Thursday at the Taal Kutir Conference Center in Rajarhat. Chandru Basson from Namibia won the Best Chef award at the event, along with Lize-Van Der Merwe from Namibia for best cake icing, Subha Ray from India for best fruit carving, and Viola Hoeflien from Austria for best mixology. Master chefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur and Ajay Chopra graced the event with their presence and shared their thoughtful insights.

Sardar Simarpreet Singh, director of JIS Group, said, “Taking this opportunity to thank, appreciate and honour all the participants who brought dishes from their respective ethnic traditions and displayed their culinary skills at the World Food Competition. We also want to thank all the judges, who gave in their valuable time and world-class skills to taste, assess and give their feedback on each dish. We hope that everyone who has participated has enjoyed, and learned and we also hope that this event has contributed to the advancement of culinary varieties and qualities on a global scale.”

GNIHM Organises World Food Competition 2023

February 21, 2023: At the 7th World Food Competition 2023, which is put on by GNIHM, the best chefs from all over the world compete for culinary dominance. They are giving you the best of the best, whether it be traditional cuisine or exotic spices. On Feb 21, 2023, the Inaugural Ceremony took place on the GNIHM site.
Simarpreet Singh, Director JIS Group; Xavier Gomes, Advisor GNIHM; Bidyut Majumder, General Manager Business Development; and Jayanta Ghosh, Principal In-charge of GNIHM, lit diyas to commence the inaugural day.

Anurupa Pal, the GNIHM Assistant Registrar, and Mr. Sudipto Pal, the National Council Coordinator and HOD Front Office, successfully guided the event's seamless operation. A cultural dance display was then presented, and the international contestants, mentors, and judges were then honoured. A graceful dance by GNIHM students brought the event to a close.

It is the best college with the best faculty members and amenities.

Placements: All our seniors got placed in 5-star properties like Westin, Taj, Le Meridian, and Nike. I got placed in Westin Hyderabad with a salary package of 3.6 LPA with additional benefits, but I decided to continue my studies as I wanted to start a business later.

Placements: Our college is very good in placement, many students get jobs in india as well as abroad and they also got top roles in the industry. Many also get a chance to get settled in foreign countries as job locations. This campus also had great tie-ups with 50 countries.

The college is great overall and thus it is one of the best in West Bengal.

Placements: My batch is still in the middle of the course and we will pass out in 2025. Basically, the top recruiting companies that come to our college are many, like Oberoi, Taj, Leela, Hilton and many more foreign brands with foreign postings with a good package.

Placements: In our course, almost every student have placements from campusing. They have always offered very high packages. Many top recruitment companies like Taj, Oberoi, ITC, Hyatt come here for recruitment. Almost 99% students got internship from top companies.

Good college with good faculty, placements and amenities.

Placements: Almost all my classmates got placements in hotel and hospitality sectors like in Taj, Westin, Hyatt, Nike, UCB, Mayfair, Le meridien etc. for hr manager, fnb manager, front office, kitchen, spa, with an average package of INR 3 to 3.6 LPA. All our seniors got good placements and I hope we get the same.
