Hindustan College of Arts and Science Scholarships and Funding

Merit-based scholarships :
Merit-based scholarships are available for students displaying exceptional performance in academics. The motive of providing such scholarships is to help rank achievers fulfil their career aspirations, and also to encourage students to pursue higher studies.
Students, who have secured 90% of marks in CBSE or 95% of marks in State Board of the school final examinations, are eligible to apply.
Selected students will avail 50% waiver in tuition fee and 100% waiver in hostel fee, for first year only.
For second and third years of study, 50% waiver on tuition fee and 50% waiver on hostel fee maybe considered, based on the panel’s decision and academic performance.

Need-based scholarships :
This scholarship is for students who are unable to afford the cost of education or belong to certain socio-economically backward sections of society, wherein the annual income of the family is a determining factor is eligible to get this scholarship.
Necessary documents from the respective Thasildar Office to substantiate the annual income of the earning member of the family MUST be submitted.
Students, who have secured 80% of marks in CBSE or 90% of marks in State Board of the school final examinations, are eligible to apply.
Selected students will avail 50% waiver in tuition fee and 100% waiver in hostel fee, for first year only.

My opinion on my college.

Placements: The college provided placement, and almost only 20% of students were placed in my batch. The highest package was 2,60,000 per annum and the lowest was 1,00,000 per annum. Companies other than BPO companies came for placement. There will be no IT recruiters coming for placement. They will not offer any internships. I personally found one and finished that.

Placements: Approximately 56% of students landed positions in large corporations. The average wage ranges from 14 LPA to 26 LPA. The maximum wage offered was 30 LPA. Top hiring firms include Snapdeal, ShopClues, and Cisco Systems. Internships are also available during the final semester. After two years, you will be eligible for both placements and internships. The most popular jobs are Business Analyst, Database Administration, and so on.

It's not that bad to go to college.

Placements: The highest package that was offered was 3 lacs per annum, and the average package was around 1–1.5 lacs per annum. A few roles like lab assistant, food processing, research scientist, etc., are part of this. The top recruiters that are part of this are consulting firms, public health companies, etc.
