My honest brief review of ifmr.

Placements: IFMR is a tier 2 b-school which is known very well for its finance specialisation. The placements for finance are also very good as it offers you placements at reasonably good managerial positions in financial giants such as Credit Suisse, JPMC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG, RBS, BOFA, etc. The package you get would be in the range of 6-18 with the mean package being 9 Lacs (approx).

IFMR is worth the money.

Placements: I would say that the placement scenario at IFMR is just decent and not great. After investing 15 lacs, and living far from your home, you get a salary package of around 8.5 LPA after two years of rigorous work. If you are in the top 25% of the batch, you will get a decent package of around or more than 10 lacs per annum. Almost 90% of the financial firms visit the campus to hire students.

My take on - ifmr b-school.

Placements: IFMR offers you 100 percent placements since inception. IFMR is known for its placements particularly in the finance industry. The average package is around 9 lacs which are very good for a finance b-school and better than many tier 2 b-schools in India. Companies like Deloitte EY, KPMG, Accenture, HSBC, Crisil, ANZ, Credit Suisse visits the campus with good packages and roles to be offered.

The college is good for financial engineering and finance.

Placements: The average salary package offered for the students of our senior batch was around 8 LPA. The highest salary package was about 18 LPA, and it was offered by HSBC. The highest packages are offered by the companies like Deloitte, HSBC, Credit Suisse and E&Y. Placements are taken care by a separate committee, which is handled by students.

Our college has good infrastructure and campus crowd.

Placements: Almost all the students got placed in the campus placements. Initially, there are a couple of good companies in the field of finance like HSBC, Deloitte, Crisil, and few others, but towards the end, it is a kind of push off for the students. However, the previous batch didn't have 100% placements, but the earlier batches had 100% placements.

Life Of MBA at IFMR Sri City.

Placements: The placements are supposed to be good at IFMR. It has had a reputation for 100% placements however it has not been so in 2017 batch. There were a couple of students that went unplaced. However this time we are expecting 100% placements. So nothing much can be said in this regard. The facts mentioned in the brochure are true and reliable so you can check it out.

Teaching is excellent. However now I see many good faculty are planning to leave which may reduce the quality of teaching. Many faculty members are too good. I would insist on bringing more pressure on students by asking for more presentations, more practice etc. Encouraging more on extracurricular activities and symposium are required. I mean more students should be involved in participating on both class rooms as well as extracurricular activities In my perception, Placements team worked very ...

Infrastructure is unmatched. The quality of faculty is best, the course content comes next. The faculty members usually are from industry background and not just book worms. As far as the placement is concerned you can choose the company to join than they choosing you. You can choose the best among the offers. If you are selected they be rest assured that your career is set in the right track.

Academic infrastructure is good and is latest. Library is stocked with plenty of books on wide variety of topics, specially on finance. Old campus was small and had limited recreational facilities but since new campus has come up, so that should be fine now. Most of the faculty had significant experience be it with industry or in teaching line. Professors coming for Guest lecture were specially great as all of them were stalwarts from finance industry, working at senior positions with big finan...

Infrastructure is good at Sree City and I found it to be satisfactory. However I would suggest that the teaching facility should improve. Please don’t copy any ones pattern of teaching. Group projects are utter waste. Some workshops should be organized from time to time. College has repo with few handful companies which is not at all sufficient. They should invite more companies. When you organize guest lecture make sure discipline is maintained. It’s a time to stablish repo with the new invitee...
