Five-Year Integrated Programme in Law (IPL)

For admission to IIM Rohtak BBA LLB/ IPL course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. This is a five-year integrated course of UG & PG. In order to get admission to this course, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 60% aggregate (for General category) in any stream. Further, candidates belonging from reserve categories such as SC/ ST or PwD are given a relaxation of five percent. These candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 55% aggregate. Yes, IIM Rohtak offers a Five-Year Integrated Programme in Law (IPL), which is an equivalent degree of BBA LLB. This course revolves around the in-depth learning of business management with in relation with law and governance. In order to get admission to IIM Rohtak BBA LLB course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Those who pass Class 12 in any stream are eligible to apply for this course. The interested candidates can apply for the integrated course by applying through the online application portal of IIM Rohtak. The Management institute conducts IPM Aptitude Test to shortlist the eligible candidates. Aspirants can either qualify for IPM AT or submit a valid CLAT scores at the time of filling the application form. Further, the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview round. Candidates who clear the PI shall receive the admission offer letter.

IIM admisison to the MBA course is based on a valid CAT score, followed by Written Ability Test (WAT) and Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD &PI). CAT 2023 cut offs for IIM admission are estimated to be in the range of 95-100 percentile for General candidates. For top IIMs such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta, among others, the minimum CAT cut off is 90 percentile and the maximum can go upto 100. IIM Rohtak estimated CAT cutoff 2023 (percentile) will range between 92 and 94 for the General category students.  

So, considering the previous year trends and estimated CAT percentile for IIM Rohtak, students with 70 percentile cutoff will not be able to get into IIM Rohtak. Candidates can get admission to other B-Schools like XIME, Bangalore and LIBA, Chennai with 70 percentile CAT cutoff.

To get admission to EGPDSM course at IIM Rohtak, the minimum eligibility is to get a UG degree with minimum 50% aggregate in the last qualfiying exam of the undergraduate course. Further,   applicants with some work experience in a relevant field will have an added advantage. IIM Rohtak shortlists students by conducting an online Sports Aptitude Assessment Test. The final selection is done based on the performance of candidates in PI round. 

As per the eligibility criteria for IIM Rohtak Certificate courses, candidates must pass graduation or any equivalent degree in the relevant stream from a recognised university. This course is designed for working professionals. The applicants must have an experience of two year at the time of applying for the course. 

The answer to this question of whether an average student can get into IIM can be both yes and no depending on the definition of an average student.

• Based on Academics (Class 10/ Class 12/ Graduation): While a student with average scores in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation with a good CAT score certainly has good chances of getting a call from IIM-A, chances are less for someone with an average CAT score.
• Based on student category (General or Reserved): While it is tough for a General category average student to grab a seat at IIM due to high score requirements, a reserved category student can get admission being at average scores as well.
• Based on past work experience, diversity and other factors: Gender and academic diversity is also a factor on which students are shortlisted at IIM. IIMs judge the past academic category based on the degree obtained by the students before MBA and then a weightage is allotted based on that. For Engineers, the percentage for scoring the highest marks is higher as compared with other streams
• Performance in selection rounds: Once you make it to the final selection rounds, i.e., AWT/PI process, it can be considered a fresh start. At this stage, students can forget their past average-ness but definitely require good grasp over the past subjects as academics-related questions are asked in the interview.

Based on the above factors, it can be considered that while getting into top Management institutes, such as IIM is extremely tough, the past performance, CAT performance, student category and a lot of factors can be the reasons for a student to receive that final call.
