Five-Year Integrated Programme in Law (IPL) 

at IIM Rohtak, Rohtak

For admission to IIM Rohtak BBA LLB/ IPL course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria. This is a five-year integrated course of UG & PG. In order to get admission to this course, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 60% aggregate (for General category) in any stream. Further, candidates belonging from reserve categories such as SC/ ST or PwD are given a relaxation of five percent. These candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 55% aggregate. The minimum age limit for all candidates to apply for BBA LLB/ IPL course at IIM-R is 20 years. 

IIM Rohtak has recently unannounced a five-year Integrated Programme in Law. The programme is designed to focus on in-depth knowledge of business management with details of law and governance. 

Admission is based on CLAT +PI score. This is the first time it is started and information regarding seats and cutt off is not available.

Admission to a five-year BBA LLB course depends upon various factors. Aspirants must qualify for all the selection parameters with good scores. The final rank list is based on a composite score of certain factors such as rank/ score in CLAT/ IPM AT exam, performance of candidates in Personal Interview round, and post academics records of Class 10 & 12. 

The total fee for a five-year integrated BBA LLB/ IPL course at IIM Rohtak costs INR 28.4 lakh. This may include the tuition fee charges for all the years. However, this fee is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Students are requested to visit the official website to get more details on the IIM Rohtak BBA LLB fee. Apart from this, candidates who apply for hostel will have to pay an additional charges of INR 25,000 along with INR 50,000 payable charges for Mess fee. Additionally, a Caution Deposit of INR 10,000 will be charged in the first year from those students who choose the hostel facility. 

In order to get admission to IIM Rohtak BBA LLB course, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Those who pass Class 12 in any stream are eligible to apply for this course. The interested candidates can apply for the integrated course by applying through the online application portal of IIM Rohtak. The Management institute conducts IPM Aptitude Test to shortlist the eligible candidates. Aspirants can either qualify for IPM AT or submit a valid CLAT scores at the time of filling the application form. Further, the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview round. Candidates who clear the PI shall receive the admission offer letter.

IIM admisison to the MBA course is based on a valid CAT score, followed by Written Ability Test (WAT) and Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD &PI). CAT 2023 cut offs for IIM admission are estimated to be in the range of 95-100 percentile for General candidates. For top IIMs such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta, among others, the minimum CAT cut off is 90 percentile and the maximum can go upto 100. IIM Rohtak estimated CAT cutoff 2023 (percentile) will range between 92 and 94 for the General category students.  

So, considering the previous year trends and estimated CAT percentile for IIM Rohtak, students with 70 percentile cutoff will not be able to get into IIM Rohtak. Candidates can get admission to other B-Schools like XIME, Bangalore and LIBA, Chennai with 70 percentile CAT cutoff. 

IIM Rohtak accepts CAT scores for admission to the MBA/ PGDM courses. IIMs, however, do not release CAT cutoffs in the public domain and are exclusively accessible only via account login to candidates who have appeared for the exam. IIM Rohtak has released the aggregate percentile scores in the CAT 2023 for admission. To get admission to EGPDSM course at IIM Rohtak, the minimum eligibility is to get a UG degree with minimum 50% aggregate in the last qualfiying exam of the undergraduate course. Further,   applicants with some work experience in a relevant field will have an added advantage. IIM Rohtak shortlists students by conducting an online Sports Aptitude Assessment Test. The final selection is done based on the performance of candidates in PI round. 

The answer to this question of whether an average student can get into IIM can be both yes and no depending on the definition of an average student.

• Based on Academics (Class 10/ Class 12/ Graduation): While a student with average scores in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation with a good CAT score certainly has good chances of getting a call from IIM-A, chances are less for someone with an average CAT score.
• Based on student category (General or Reserved): While it is tough for a General category average student to grab a seat at IIM due to high score requirements, a reserved category student can get admission being at average scores as well.
• Based on past work experience, diversity and other factors: Gender and academic diversity is also a factor on which students are shortlisted at IIM. IIMs judge the past academic category based on the degree obtained by the students before MBA and then a weightage is allotted based on that. For Engineers, the percentage for scoring the highest marks is higher as compared with other streams
• Performance in selection rounds: Once you make it to the final selection rounds, i.e., AWT/PI process, it can be considered a fresh start. At this stage, students can forget their past average-ness but definitely require good grasp over the past subjects as academics-related questions are asked in the interview.

Based on the above factors, it can be considered that while getting into top Management institutes, such as IIM is extremely tough, the past performance, CAT performance, student category and a lot of factors can be the reasons for a student to receive that final call.
