What’s new regarding IIT Kanpur placements 2025? According to media reports, a total of 1,109 offers were made at the end of Phase 1 IIT Kanpur placements 2025. Further, 28 international offers were made during IIT Kanpur placements 2025. Other than this, 1,035 students have already accepted offers during IIT Kanpur placements 2025. More than 250 companies participated so far during the phase 1 of IIT Kanpur placements 2025. The top recruiters included BPCL, NPCI, Microsoft and Databricks

IIT Kanpur Placement overview

As per unofficial sources, 576 BTech and 247 MTech students were placed during the 2023-24 placements. The highest placement rate recorded in BTech was for the CSE branch and stood at 95.90%. In MTech, the ME branch recorded the highest placement percentage of 84.40%. Furthermore, the IIT Kanpur CSE average package in BTech and MTech stood at INR 52.80 LPA and INR 24.70 LPA, respectively. The highest median package offered to BTech and MTech students during IIT Kanpur placements 2024 was INR 40.70 LPA and INR 27.50 LPA, respectively.

The institute has also released the MBA final placement report for 2022-24. The Kanpur average package and highest package offered to the MBA students were INR 18.20 LPA and INR 24 LPA, respectively. A total of 21 recruiters participated, including 11 new recruiters. Further, the median package and lowest package offered during IIT Kanpur MBA placements 2024 stood at INR 19.90 LPA and INR 12.50 LPA, respectively. Cognizant, Wells Fargo, Accenture and many other renowned companies participated in IIT Kanpur placements 2024. The summer placement report for the MBA batch 2023-25 has also been released. The highest and average stipends stood at INR 1.70 lakh and INR 80,000, respectively.

Best campus life and best course if you are eager to study.

Placements: Finance, consulting, field engineering, product, SDE, core companies, etc., are recruiting. About 80%+ students get placed. The highest package is around 1 Cr, the lowest is around 10 LPA and the median is around 20-22 LPA. Top recruiters are SLB, Finmechanics, Meesho, JLR, ITC, HUL, BCG, Nestled, etc. Around 40-50% students get internships.

Infrastructure: The courses offered here are well-structured and cater to a wide range of academic interests, ensuring a good learning experience. The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, fostering an environment that encourages curiosity and growth. The curriculum is rigorous yet balanced, preparing students for both academic and professional challenges.

Faculty: Faculty do strict grading but courses and their content are good. The strict grading policy sometimes feel harsh for you, but the course content is too notch there may be some boring lectures but there can be some interesting subjects and choice of selecting open electives and department electives is the best thing you can explore other department and even MBA courses with this.

Overall, a very nice college. If you are able to get a circuital branch here, it's good.

Placements: This year the placements went very well across all branches. In total about 900-1000 students got placed. In civil, about 60-70% of students got placed. The highest packages offered were 3.6cr (PPO) and 2.6cr. Our institute has a cap of 10 lakh for the companies. So, the lowest package will be 10 lakh, and the average was about 25 lakh. Top recruiting companies were BPCL, etc. Internships were somewhat lower from this branch. Top roles offered were SDE, data analyst and consultant.

Infrastructure: Every department has common faculty buildings and lecture halls that are completely air-conditioned as well as proper Wi-Fi connection. Also, library is a good place to study. Our hostels have average infrastructure as they are old but the quality of food in the mess and canteens is very good. Also, hostels have different grounds for sport activities.

Faculty: The professors here are well qualified. They teach well. Regular lectures and tutorials occur and they are coursewise. From the second year, the core courses start to be related to the respective industry. Academics are kind of tough here. Professors sometimes don't give good grades. About 10-20% of the students get a failing grade.

Other: I chose it in JoSAA counselling. I wish the core culture of civil must be improved here. There are 3 fests and a lot of other events on the campus, which helps us in our overall development.

The reality of IIT Kanpur.

Placements: In my department, approximately 90% of placements occur on campus. The highest package this time offered was 85 LPA, the lowest was 10 LPA, and the average was 19 LPA. Dr. Reddy and Axxella are the main recruiters during the placements in our course. The internship number is not so good but around 50% of students get the internship. I have no idea about the role but it depends on which area students want to go to.

Infrastructure: In my department, there is a separate chemical engineering building and lab, which are similar to industries but on a very small level. In the labs, you will find too many desktops, and Wi-Fi is always there and we have Asia's second-largest library in IIT Kanpur. The hostel quality is good but it remains good in the first year only and after the first year, the quality of the rooms is not so good. And in every hall, there is a canteen and a gym. In the whole of IIT Kanpur, there is only one medical center.

Faculty: The faculty and teachers are very helpful but not all of them. There is always some teacher who does not push the students. Most of the professors are well-educated and good. Teaching done on the smart board so teaching quality is very good. Yes, the courses that we have studied can make one 90% ready to join the industry. Semester exam are always very tough in IIT Kanpur and very rigorous.

Other: I chose this course on the basis of my rank and the main thing is that this college is close to my hometown so I chose this course here. The campus life is good; you will find fests, clubs and sports in which you can participate according to your hobby.

College is well known and best college as compared to others.

Placements: In my course, almost all of them are placed; the highest package is about 1.5 crores, the lowest is 7 lacs, and the average package is 20 lacs. Top recruiting companies are WorldQuant, Google, Microsoft and BCG. About 60% of students get the internship in all the above companies. Top roles offered are software and finance consultant.

Infrastructure: We all get the free Wi-Fi in the hostel; it is old and the classrooms are of two types, old and new but all have AC rooms and there is a big library known as the PK Kelkar Library. Rooms have no ACs. We have a mess secretary among us so the quality of the food is not bad and the canteen is open from 2 pm to 2 am. And the medical facilities are 24/7 and free. And have a student activity centre for games and sports.

Faculty: The teachers are very nice and helpful but the grading is so bad in our batch and all the teachers are postdoctorate and more knowledgeable. The course curriculum is so much more relevant. The semester exams are the toughest in comparison to other colleges. Pass percentage is 70%.

Other: Because according to the JEE Advanced rank, I got this college. The best thing about my course is that normal people can not sustain it and I would suggest you please improve the grading policy of the course. The fests are so good. 4 fests have been held for students with extraordinary and financial problems.

Placements: The percentage of students placed in my course is more than 90%. The highest and the lowest packages offered for this course are 15 LPA and 3 LPA per annum. The recruiting companies in my course are Essential and Wipro. The percentage of students who got internships from my course is more than 60%.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in my college are very good. Wi-Fi, classrooms, library—everything is available. The quality and facilities in my hostel are very good. The canteen, medical facilities, and sports games are all available in the college.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. All teachers in my college have good teaching qualities. This course is curriculum-relevant, and students are industry-ready. The semester exams in my college were very easy; therefore, the pass percentage was 90%.

Other: I chose this course for getting the best knowledge. The best thing about the course is that we require only physical and practical work. There is no wish to improve in this course. The surrounding campus and crowd are all so good. Scholarships are also available for top-performing students.

Review of IIT Kanpur by a civil engineering student .

Placements: I had about 147 students in my batch. The highest package will be around 40 lacs, the lowest package will be around 5 lacs, and the average will be around 15 lacs. Mainly, construction and steel companies will be recruiting. About 20–30% of students got internships. Internships will be attained by mostly PG students. Structures, environment, and hydraulics will be the top roles.

Infrastructure: There are 4 types of Wi-Fi available almost at every spot in college. The labs are wonderful and well-equipped. Classrooms are extraordinary and contain switch boards, projectors, big screens and central AC. The library contains a vast number of books, a good chair, fewer switch boards compared to occupancy, and central AC. Mess food will be average. You can get extra items by paying the very minimum amount. Canteen food will be good compared to a mess. We have a health centre open 24 hours a day, and money will be paid by the college for any treatment and free medicine every time. We have big grounds and can play almost all sports.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable but some are not fit for teaching. The course curriculum is relevant. Extra work should be done by the students to get internships and placements. Semester exam difficulty level will be based on professor but grading is tough compared to other IITs. Pass percentages will be lower compared to other IITs .

Other: I have chosen IIT Kanpur but there is no civil engineering in it. We have a branch society, which helps us lot and my 4th semester courses were good. Bringing awareness about civil engineering to students. Various events will happen at clubs and societies. We have 3 fests. 2 in October and 1 in March. A batch consists of around 1200 students. We can build connections by participating in clubs, societies, and festivals. Campus is inside the city and you can roam outside but you will be pan-parag more. You have some scholarships like NSP, DONOR, and FBM based on your eligibility. Extracurricular activities are clubs, societies, and fests.
