Good placements and teaching, but dissatisfied with infrastructure and college life.
Placements: I am currently studying, so I’m not fully familiar with the placement details. However, my super seniors have secured positions in reputable hospitals with valuable roles. For some very senior students, it took a long time to get placements outside the hospital. A few well-known students have been recruited into good positions within our own hospital.
Infrastructure: The college is housed in a single building with two floors and a terrace. It is essentially a house converted into classrooms (one of which is equipped with a projector), a library, and a staff room. For combined classes, there is a conference hall with a projector located in the hospital. The boys' hostel is on the top floor of the hospital, with 13 beds cramped into a small room. The lack of ventilation makes it feel very hot. This area has also been converted into a hostel. There is a study room that can be quite damp during the rainy season. The girls' hostel is located a street away from the college. Food accommodations are below average except on special occasions.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and very helpful. The teaching quality is good, with classes conducted not only by the staff but also by doctors working in the hospital. The course curriculum is relevant to future job roles. We spend half the day studying and the other half working in the hospital, which helps us gain experience and knowledge about various medical procedures and patient handling. The semester exams are manageable if you put in consistent effort and hard work.
Other: I chose this course because it has good prospects in the medical industry. We get to work in casualty, ICU, and emergency situations. There are small functions during major occasions like Pongal, Christmas, Teachers' Day, and Independence Day. For Cultural Day, there is a bigger celebration, but that's about it.
