B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2022

It is the best college for food technology.
Placements: Almost 80% of the placements are offered in campus placements. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the minimum salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies of our college are Nestle and Aachi Masala. Almost 100% of the students got an internship in companies like Amul, Aachi Masala, Nestle, Paper Boat and in well-reputed companies. Food technology is the best course in which you can study how to start up and how to increase the self-life of food and many others.
Infrastructure: It is good and Wi-Fi campus. The library opens at 7 am and close at 11 pm, and it is the best library. The hostel is very good, but north Indian have to manage with food items. Food items are not good because all time they serve dosa and idly. They don't serve chapati, and maximum time they serve rice. Medical facilities are available on the campus. Sports are good like a basketball court, badminton court, football group, cricket ground, volleyball court and many others.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are good and helpful but not every time. All teachers are PhD degree holders, and teaching quality is good. This college comes under TNAU, i.e., Tamil Nadu Agriculture University. This course is enough to make a good manager for the future, and you can able to solve all problems with food.
Other: I have chosen this course because this course is good than mechanical engineering. The best thing about this course is you get to learn many things about the food inside as well as outside. The syllabus is vast. Event is conducted here named I Fest. For every two years, there is one big day named Open Day in which 10,000 people are coming to see our college, and every month competitions are conducted here.

Our college is the best choice to pursue research in the field of food technology.
Placements: Most of the students opt for higher studies in both research and management fields in reputed colleges in India and also abroad. Placement offers in the college are limited and are getting better every year. Roles offered are mostly in food quality and production units. The salary packages offered ranges from 2 LPA to 7 LPA. Top Recruiting companies include Nestle, Tata Smart foods, Nagar foods, Licious, Aachi Masala, etc. All the students do internships from top food companies as a part of the curriculum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, and the laboratories are well-equipped and are one of the best for research in food science and technology in the country. The campus has a great library with a good collection of books and scientific magazines. It also has automated borrowing and renewal system. All the students get access to the Wi-Fi throughout the campus. The hostel is well constructed, and the food served in the mess is decently good. The college has an in-house nurse and a visiting doctor who is available every alternative day. Sports facilities are available including 2 indoor badminton courts, table tennis boards, outdoor basketball court and a small open ground for football and cricket. Apart from these, carrom and chess boards are also available.
Faculty: This institute is positively one among the premium institutes in the field of food technology in the country and has recently gained the status of Institute of National Importance (INI). Faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable with great research experience. The course curriculum is currently affiliated to TNAU and is pretty relevant. The institute hopes to become autonomous soon.
Other: The institute is the best choice to pursue research in the field of food science and technology. The campus has around 300 - 400 students including UG, PG and PhD. There are 3 major clubs in the college, namely science, cultural and sports. The clubs conduct various intra and inter-college competitions. The college conducted its first inter-college cultural fest in 2020. The institute offers merit-cum mean scholarships to talented students every semester.

Good choice for those who chose food processing and technology as their future.
Placements: Placements are quite good. College ensures decent placements to all the students except those who prefer for Masters. Average package is roughly around 4 - 5 Lacs per annum. Students usually get to work as interns in companies like ITC, Nestle, MTR, BigBasket, Kingfisher, Food buddies, Aachi. Few get the chance of being placed in the company where they are interning. Other students are placed in different food companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good with world class lab facilities and well equipped classrooms. The campus provides free wi-fi facilities for all students and faculty members. Separate hostel for boys and girls inside the campus. Mess food is available for both hostels separately, hygienically maintained.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly talented, knowledgeable and well experienced. They also encourages and guides the students to pursue Masters around the globe. The curriculum is neatly framed such that a student gains both theoretical and practical knowledge simultaneously.

I am satisfied with faculty members, equipment provided and good infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 10-20% of the students were placed in reputed food industries. The majority of students in IIFPT always prefer higher studies like masters and management. Top recruiting companies are Nestle, Aachi Masala, Nagar and Cothas Coffee. Top roles offered are research and development for M.Tech students and production and quality department for B.Tech students. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 1-2.5 LPA and the highest salary package offered is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available are good as compared to other institutions. The institution has a lot of machinery and high-cost equipment, and it helps to gain subjective and practical knowledge. Institution contains a lot of labs for various departments with high-tech equipment, which makes it curious. The library contains different varieties like subjective books, foreign author books, research paper section, storybook section, research journal, current trends and pleasant environment with the air-conditioned facility, which makes it a calm and perfect place for gaining knowledge. The hostel is equipped with TV, gym and sports. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and digitally equipped.
Faculty: In our institution, faculty members are friendly and highly skilled. They did excellent work in teaching part and research part. Faculty members share their own experience and knowledge to improve the students in a subjective and practical point of view and also make them ready for industrial work.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have a great interest in food processing. Apart from academics, the institution always encourages sports and cultural activities. The campus has a pleasant environment. For scholarship, they choose 4-5 peoples per semester according to their GPA and other eligibility criteria.

Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology is a good research institute.
Placements: Our college provides different roles in different departments of food industries like quality assurance, research and development and production units. Very few students got placed on-campus placements. Nestle is one of the top recruiting company that visited our college for placements in the previous year.
Infrastructure: Comfortable rooms are available to all students. Generators are not available during the power shutdown. Food menu and its quality needs improvement here. Our college provides good medical care. More facilities are needed to develop both outdoor and indoor sports activities.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and qualified. The course curriculum is good. It teaches and covers all aspects of working in any food industry. It also covers various types of food sectors. They provide good knowledge about conventional and present-day novel technology can be learnt from the course.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is good in terms of the research-orientated field. More importance should be given for entrepreneurship skill development. Various inter-college events and fests are conducted at the college. Our college also organises a few intra-college events.

Our college has the best infrastructure and laboratory.
Placements: Internship of 70 days is mandatory for all the UG students during their final semester, and it will be evaluated as well. Companies like ITC, United Beverages, Nestle, Aachi, Olam provide internships to students. Apart from those, students can choose to intern with other food startups or industries during their vacations and semester breaks. Companies like Nestle hired B.Tech students at a salary package of 7.2 LPA, which was the highest for B.Tech in 2020.
Infrastructure: The institute has the best laboratory facilities with almost all the updated sophisticated equipment. Wi-Fi is available 24x7 on the campus, and the classrooms are digitalized with smartboards. The hostel facilities are way better than other institutes. Girls hostel is located within the campus and boys hostel is 1 km away from the campus, but bus facility is provided for transportation. The menu in the mess is mostly South Indian cuisine for 5 days a week and North Indian cuisine for 2 days. The chefs are from Thanjavur locality. There are separate messes for boys and girls in their respective hostels. For sports, IIFPT has a very good basketball, volleyball courts and two synthetic badminton court.
Faculty: Almost all the faculty members hold a doctorate degree and excel in their respective fields. B.Tech and M.Tech courses are affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Due to this COVID situation, we got exposure to very few industrial visits and study tours in our III year.
Other: There are student clubs like science, sports and cultural clubs that conducted regular events for students.
