May 27, 2024: Ms. Shivangi Sharma and Ms. Diotima Roy from J W Marriott in Kolkata led a critical training on the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the hotel and hospitality industries. The event was hosted for students at the Indian Institute of Hotel Management. Throughout the course, Ms. Sharma and Ms. Roy highlighted the need to maintain excellent sanitary standards in hotels. They added that all hospitality staff have a fundamental responsibility to ensure guest safety, maintain cleanliness, and avoid illness transmission. The seminar emphasized the importance of stringent hygiene measures, particularly in light of the COVID-19 epidemic, which has fundamentally altered the industry's approach to cleaning and sanitation.

"The importance of hygiene in our industry cannot be overstated," Ms. Sharma said. "The pandemic has shown us that stringent cleanliness protocols are essential not only for guest satisfaction but also for their health and safety." Ms. Roy continued, "Guests' expectations have shifted. They now expect greater standards of hygiene, which we must achieve and exceed to preserve confidence and protect their well-being."The students eagerly engaged in the program, obtaining vital knowledge about modern sanitation procedures and the application of advanced hygiene protocols. The practical knowledge taught throughout the session is aimed at improving their professional competence and readiness to face the difficulties of the changing hospitality industry.

March 28, 2024:  The Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) recently sparked the spirit of Holi with their joyful "Basanta Utsav 2024" festival on its vibrant college campus. The event, which celebrates the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil, drew together students, faculty, and staff in a colourful display of joy and friendship. Holi, known as the festival of colors, transcends barriers of age, caste, and creed, uniting people in its jubilant fervor. IIHM embraced this ethos wholeheartedly, creating an inclusive and spirited environment for all participants. The campus buzzed with excitement as students adorned themselves in vibrant hues, eagerly anticipating the festivities ahead. 

he event kicked  off with traditional rituals, including  the lighting  of  the Holika pyre symbolizing  the triumph  of virtue over vice. As  the flames danced, echoing  the spirit  of renewal, attendees gathered around  to witness  the spectacle,  their faces illuminated with joy and anticipation. Following  the ceremonial rituals,  the campus erupted into a riot  of colors, as participants gleefully smeared each other with gulal (colored powder) and exchanged warm embraces. Laughter filled  the air as friendships were strengthened, and bonds were forged amidst  the kaleidoscope  of colors.
 
In essence, IIHM's Basanta Utsav 2024 encapsulated  the essence  of Holi – a festival that transcends barriers, celebrates diversity, and spreads  the message  of love and unity. As  the campus bid farewell  to yet another memorable celebration, it left behind memories that would be cherished for years  to come, serving as a testament  to  the vibrant tapestry  of Indian culture and  the enduring spirit  of  togetherness.

Placements: You get a few options like front-office, F&B service, housekeeping, production, and bakery. You can choose your interest and can give importance to that particular department. You have various stages in each department. The highest earning is in F&B service.

Placements: More than 80% of students get placements. The highest salary package is Rs.63,000 per month, the average salary package is Rs.35,000 per month, and the lowest salary package is Rs.20,000 per month. I like this course and the college.

Placements: About 100% of students were placed in our course. The highest was 5 LPA and the lowest was 2 LPA. Around 80% of students got internships. They always keep us clean and safe and they take care of us very carefully. This course is very useful for anyone's career.

Placements: Out of 100, 40 to 50% of students got placed in my course. Our the highest package is 200000/- PA, our the lowest package is 100000/- PA and our average package is around 150000/- PA. Our recruiting companies are Taj Bengal, Lalit great eastern, Leela Goa, Hayatt regency. 100% students got internship from our college and ITC Royel Bengal, JW Marriott, The Park, Novotel etc. Associate, Managing etc. is the top roles in our course.
