Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the college because my college life became so bad in this college.
Placements: Only 50% of students are getting placed and the students in the placement cell are only getting opportunities and giving them to their friends. The highest package is 32 LPA. The lowest package is 3.6 LPA. The average package is around 6 LPA. Top recruiters are Nalasha, TCS, etc. Less than 25% of people got internships; among them, 50% are off campus.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided in labs and classrooms. And the infrastructure is good for labs and classrooms but the AC is not there in labs and classrooms. The food quality in the mess is good and the hostel facilities are good. Sports and games facilities are like a normal school, not up to my expectations.
Faculty: Teachers only provide the slides in the classroom. The curriculum is great for CSE students. Exam patterns are not good and the grading is so complicated that you will not understand it even in the full 4 years of your college. Passing percentage is 30 percent .
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to do computer science and engineering, as my JEE Main rank is around 29k so I got this college. Events and fests should be organized in a better way and colleges should provide more budget. The connectivity of college is so poor. Surrounding is so poor as it is a village that doesn't have more than 5 shops at all.

Overview of Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam .
Placements: The placements are decent here as of now. The median is around 10 to 12 LPA, and the average is near to 12 LPA. Location and recession are the main reasons for the limited number of companies. You can check out the placement statistics on the college website.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very good infrastructure-wise, but the freshers should stay outside campus hostels for their first year due to the limited number of hostels inside campus. Labs are well developed. Classrooms are good, and Wi-Fi is above average. Mess is above decent.
Faculty: The curriculum is good, which follows IIITH's curriculum. The faculty is friendly, and the examinations are reduced, which makes it stress-free for students. Being a IIIT, it solely depends on industry preparing subjects like CS communications and personality development.
Other: The college is good enough with a mix of everything.

Continuously upgrading and developing skills relevant to the desired field can enhance employability
Placements: In cybersecurity, there is no passed-out batch, so I can't tell you about placements in my course. This year, my seniors are the first batch. According to core placements, it's good now. Seeking internships during the course of study or during breaks can provide valuable work experience, practical skills, and industry exposure. Internships can often lead to full-time job offers upon graduation. Building a professional network through industry events, alumni connections, and online platforms such as LinkedIn can help students discover job opportunities and access hidden job markets.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good; we have separate classes and labs. There is no problem with Wi-Fi. The library is very small, but we get resources, and classrooms with AC are provided. Facilities in food are fine. Sports facilities are good; we have separate grounds for all sports.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in our projects, and assistants like Ph.D. scholars help us in the lab activities. Yes, the curriculum is fine; it helps students get internships. The question papers we get in mid and semester exams are of a moderate to high level. The pass percentage is 5 CGPA.
Other: I am very interested in hacking, so I chose the course because of hacking. Hacking is very fun. I think this year I am going to learn more. My teachers are very helpful in projects. Improving interaction with students more and more is necessary. Fests and circular activities are very fun. They happen once or twice a semester. All the extracurricular activities are encouraged.

Satisfied with Infrastructure of IIIT Kottayam.
Placements: Campus placements are relatively low, with an average package of around 6 LPA for Computer Science and Engineering. The highest package reached 20 LPA. Many students secure internships independently, with top roles offered in fields like machine learning. Approximately 30% of students get placed.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is unreliable, often switching off, but classrooms and department facilities are satisfactory. Sports and games are encouraged, although the quality of the mess is inconsistent—sometimes subpar, though it has improved recently. Medical facilities are adequate.
Faculty: Some teachers are very supportive, while others display a degree of partiality. Overall, teaching quality is good, though semester exams are challenging, with a low pass rate of around 5.5. Mid-semester exams, however, are manageable.
Other: Events are well-organized, but they rarely invite notable guests or experts from outside the institution.

Decent placements and developing infrastructure and facilities, but fees are slightly overpriced.
Placements: Considering the recession period, IIIT Kottayam has performed decently in the 2023–24 placement season. The highest CTC was observed to be 45 LPA, while the average is mentioned to be around 12 LPA (on and off campus combined) and the lowest around 4 LPA. However, the overall placement percentage has slightly declined when compared to the great placement season of 2022–23. Top recruiting companies like NVIDIA, HP, IBM, Media.NET, etc. have visited this year. Internship offers from various companies become grabbable starting from the 2nd year of college itself if the profile is decent and the projects have a good teaching style.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good with Wi-Fi support, digital boards, etc. Labs have most of the necessary equipments required in adequate amount (Computer labs even have proper Ethernet connections). Hostel facilities are fine and adjustable, except for the insects (since the campus is located in a lush green place). Mess is unified, not hostel-wise. The quality of mess food recently varied because of increase in the number of students and lack of kitchen space. However, the two canteens (Milma Shop and Scoops) are easily accessible. We get quite a number of events and tournaments in sports and games but they have their own limitations.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Teachers are mostly helpful, humble, qualified and knowledgeable about a variety of research domains. There's a lot to learn from some of them. The course curriculum is really great considering that it has some similarities to that of IIIT Hyderabad. Students can get industry ready but they need to push themselves more than anything. Semester exams have moderately difficult levels (depending on the faculty who sets the paper) with a very high pass percentage.

It is a pretty average choice college for competitive students.
Placements: Placements of the campus are not as high as advertised and it is around 30%. The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA for the previous graduation batch on campus. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA which is not that great. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA that is only because it is being normalised by the high packages. Top recruiting companies like Nvidia, Ships, IBM, and TCS visit the college to hire students. Ships hire around 15 students, and Nvidia hires around 2-3 students only if they seem fit for the job. IBM and TCS companies offer a lot of jobs but some students get low salary packages. The role offered is mainly software development.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout campus. Labs have mostly up-to-date equipment. The library is not often used but has an average amount of books. The quality of the food is bad, and most of the students resort to eating outside. It is manageable to eat the mess food as it does not give anybody food poisoning, etc. Medical facilities are basic almost like a school but they provide insurance to a hospital nearby. Sports is not given a lot of priority. Grounds are still in development. However, the college is known to be pretty good at cricket and volleyball while is also good.
Faculty: Teachers are as helpful as any other college. Almost all of them have doctorate degrees. Their teaching is not bad at all. The course curriculum is very relevant not only for exams in the college but also for other important exams. Semester exams are not as hard as university exams but not everyone passes the exams. The pass percentage is high.
Other: I chose this course because the course is a pretty trending course right now. It provides us an opportunity to learn about how most of the world works now. Events like cultural fest, freshers day, sports fests, and other religious days are also celebrated.
