One of the best Institute in India and it can say Next to IIM, XLRI. All faculty are very good and take care of all students equally. This is one of the colleges where any kind of bias will not come in the classroom and feel free to talk with any Professor and all are from the very reputed institute (like, IIM, IIT & Abroad) & renowned industry as well. Placement is the part of the economical time and candidature so, nobody can able to give a commitment to it but overall it seems good to the dat...

The college is no doubt one of the best in Kolkata, with Good return on Investment as one of the prime reasons. Faculty being good and equally quality placement is provided to the students. Though the Infrastructure is not up to the mark as compared to some of the other premiere B-schools, but considering it to be the oldest B-school in India, the institution has great foundation base and a wealth of knowledge to impart to the students and along with that a huge database of Alumni helps in earni...

IISWBM was constituted on 25th April,1953 by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. This was the culmination of the joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the captains of industry in India to set up for the first time a management education institute in India, a concept alien to many in the educational fraternity at that time. The Institute has successfully reached its Diamond Jubilee Year, signif...

One of the premier institute which offers course on logistics management as a degree course under the Calcutta University, The campus life is good with free Wi-Fi facility, AC classroom, well equipped library and excellent faculty. But placements are not so good as compared to other institutions. It is the oldest management college in India and I am lucky to be a part of it.

The 'pioneer in management education in India' - and rightly put. IISWBM is the country's 1st management institute- even before the IIMs. The course is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. Located at the heart of the city and amidst the academic and education hub of the city - College Street, the college boasts of a rich heritage and culture. Teachers are very experienced and student friendly. Admissions are through the Common Admission Test (CAT). Regularly among the top institutes in th...

This is one of the oldest premiere institute.College is superb. The professors are all very educated and very competent. Professor KKR Koner Sir is just fabulous. Non teaching staffs are very helpful. The only drawback is that it is in Kolkata. If it was in Pune, Bangalore or some cities it would be on the first ten colleges in India.

The college only has the name. The retail department does not have any placement cell and the support staff too does not support the students. They do not offer mark sheets on a semester basis and it has been almost 18 months that they have not provided the final certificates.

Classes at IISWBM are not interactive in nature. They are just a mix of formal lectures. Tests are conducted on a semester basis which can be both, planned as well as surprise in nature. Although surprise tests are not very common Students are not given any handouts as such but most of the teachers share their presentations with them. There is almost no development infrastructure wise. Faculty is also very below average. My teachers in St. Xavier's college were much more competent. Students ofte...

IISWBM may not provide you the tag value of IIM or XLRI but when talking about Public Systems Management it really has a name for itself. The campus is always buzzing with events and seminars it's totally up to you to decide how much you want to get involved. If you have realistic view about your own capabilities then the placement seems to be quite appropriate. The faculty of MPSM may get on your nerves at times and they might seem a bit too theory oriented but that's just the way of Calcutta ...

If your budget is low then it is a good college. Faculties are awesome. Placement is quite good.

Placements: This year placement is not so good due to slow down of economy but previous years placement was good. A student got 9 lacs per annum which is the highest package and the lowest package is 3.80 lacs per annum. Lot of reputed organisation visit this institute like PWC, TCS, Nestle, Hindel & Co, KPMG.
