Q:   How are Indus Business Academy 2023 cut off marks determined?

A:

Indus Business Academy (IBA) determines its cut-off marks for the 2023 PGDM programme based on a number of factors, including:

  • Number of applicants: IBA receives a large number of applications each year, so the cut-offs are set relatively high.
  • Quality of the applicant pool: IBA looks at the overall quality of the applicant pool, including academic performance, entrance exam scores, work experience, and extracurricular activities.
  • Demand for the program: IBA also considers the demand for the PGDM program. If there is high demand for the program, the cut-offs may be set higher.

IBA does not release its cut-off marks publicly. However, based on previous years' trends, the cut-offs for the 2023 PGDM programme are expected to be as follows:

Entrance ExamCut-off Mark
CAT70 percentile
XAT75 percentile
CMAT75 percentile
MAT70 percentile
ATMA75 percentile
GMAT650
GRE310
GATE750
State Government Entrance TestsVaries depending on the state

It is important to note that these are just estimates, and the actual cut-offs may vary depending on the factors mentioned above.

In addition to the entrance exam score, IBA also considers other factors in the admission process, such as academic performance, work experience, and recommendations. Therefore, even if you do not meet the cut-off mark exactly, you may still be admitted to IBA if you have a strong overall profile.

I can recommend others to take admission in this college.
Placements: This college offers specialisations in finance, marketing, HR, business analytics, and international business. Any two domains can be chosen for your specialisation. 95% of the students in the 21-23rd batch are placed. Deloitte, PwC, Bizdata, Reckitt, Aditya Birla, Reliance, ICICI Bank, securities, prudential, etc. companies came for placement.
Infrastructure: For a two-year course, there are six trimesters and a three-month internship period. During this time, you can learn practical knowledge, work ethics, time management, etc. It's a vegan campus. Non-vegetarian foods are not permitted on campus. In the mess, they provide breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified, and they have industry knowledge as well. This course makes the students industry-ready. You have to attend all classes. If your attendance is below 90%, they will deduct 1 grade from your total. Marks include midterm, end term, assignment, and class participation, too.

IBA- Making a future of us.
Placements: The top recruiting companies last year were TCS, KPMG, and PwC. Since I'm in my first year right now, we don't have placements. But last year, around 80 percent of students got campus placements. The highest package was 22 lacs, and the average package was 8 lacs. An internship is compulsory for everyone.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available only on the laptop provided by the college. The classrooms were recently furnished so they're good. The hostel is okay; it is a bit old so all the things are a bit old. The quality of the food was good, but sometimes it was oily. The library is very huge and good.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. We were mostly given practical-based and group assignments, which were very fun. The marketing taught there was relatively good. There was a trimester pattern instead of a normal semester pattern, therefore making studies a bit harder.
Other: I wanted to do an MBA and thus chose this college. The course is similar to other MBA courses except that it is more practical-oriented and consists of an international trip .

Review of Indus Business Academy (IBA).
Placements: It is only the 4th trimester and our college has already placed about 60 students out of a batch of 170 students even in this pandemic. Top recruiting companies till now include Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Colgate, Spectrum, ABFRL, Haldirams, etc. Job roles offered include tax consultants, tax analysts, management trainees, business analysts, and sales trainees to name a few.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities available in the college include classrooms, 24x7 Wi-Fi, a library, Audi, a gym, playing areas, etc. It has a lush green campus which students enjoy as a part of soothing or refreshment in their schedules. The hostel facilities are also good and this pandemic, they took proper care of the students by maintaining safety, isolation protocols, etc. There is also a doctor available on the campus in case of any emergency. However, we were not able to enjoy all the facilities of the college to the fullest due to the pandemic.
Faculty: Faculty members of this college are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and have an unconventional way of teaching. They believe in both practical and theoretical ways of teaching rather than only rote and theory-based teaching. They are also very helpful and understanding towards the students. The course curriculum of the college is streamlined according to the current industry needs. Students have a busy and hectic schedule, but it makes them industry-ready and allows them to shine in their corporate careers. The exams are not very difficult. However, a student needs to be attentive in the class as the exams are based mostly on practical knowledge through case studies, caselets, quiz, etc.
