The University has not released course-specific placement data. As per the Shiksha students' reviews, the placement rate recorded in recent recruitment processes was 70%. 

NMIMS is a recognised university with great ranking and accreditation. And they do provide placements assistance even in the distance education front. NMIMS makes sure that someone studying from distance doesn't get anything different or less than what a regular student is getting. In most universities where faculty for distance and regular are different it’s not the case in NMIMS. The faculty teaching both regular and online are the same. And according to UGC (University Grant commission) a degree from a recognised university (Regular or Distance) have the same value.

The hiring counselor will work individually with each student to search for job opportunities. The programme participants shall receive job opportunities each week for the duration of the Job Search module. At least 3 job interviews with a salary hike of 10% -30%

During NMIMS Mumbai Placements 2022, 29% of the batch got placed through Pre-placement offers. The highest salary package offered was INR 57.65 LPA. Students received an average salary of INR 23.07 LPA.

Mumbai University Institute of Distance and open Learning -MU IDOL is a distance education department in Mumbai University. The department is the 7th University in the country to start the Distance Education program. The Institute of Distance and open Learning offers various undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in the streams of Arts, Science and technology, commerce and management, etc. The admission here are done completely on the merit basis and the entrance exams marks (applicable for selected courses).

For the MBA programme the eligibility criteria is as follows:

The candidate must possess a Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum score of 50% for the general category and 45% for the reserved categories. 

The admission in MU IDOL is done on the basis of merit so if the marks are qualifing the merit you will get the admission.

In contrast, full-time MBA placements reported a higher average salary of INR 23.07 LPA, with a sizeable share obtained through pre-placement offers, per a 2022 NMIMS Mumbai Placements report. This striking contrast draws attention to the disparities in resources and opportunities between open learning or distance learning formats, such as the MBA programme offered by IDOL, and traditional full-time programmes.
