Incepted in the year 2004, Institute of Science, Nirma University is engrossed in offering postgraduate programmes of MSc in the stream of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology along with doctorate-level PhD programme in part-time and full-time mode in the field of science.

Candidates willing to take admission in MSc need to have completed a Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks
Candidates willing to take admission in PhD need to have at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree
The admission process is online and admission is offered on the basis of an Entrance conducted by Nirma University

Institute of Science, Nirma University Admission 2021: MSc

Students willing to take admission in this institute for MSc are admitted through a National Level Entrance Test conducted by Nirma University. This test is based on the undergraduate syllabus of Chemistry and Life Sciences. The duration of this test is one and a half hour with no provision of negative marking. In case of equal score in the entrance test, aggregate marks of the qualifying exams are considered for determining the merit.

Institute of Science, Nirma University Admission 2021: PhD

Admission to this course is offered on the basis of an entrance conducted by the university. Students who have cleared NET/SLET/GATE/MPhil are exempted from the written test. However, all the shortlisted candidates need to appear with a well-prepared research proposal while personal interview.

If the candidate has passed the qualifying exam from a University other than Nirma University, they need to have a provisional eligibility certificate from Nirma University on payment of INR 500 and those who are granted admission need to submit the original migration certificate within six months from the admission date.

One should write his/her complete name on the backside of the Demand Draft for safety purpose.

Placements: Around 30% of students got placed in our course. Top recruiting companies are Intas, Zydus, etc. Many pharmaceuticals visit our college to recruit students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides good facilities. Classrooms are spacious. They are equipped with air-conditioners. Corridors are spacious. We have libraries. We can use the resources of any library. You have to add your roll number to the database. Labs are good. Our college has good environment.

Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and friendly. They solve our doubts. Our HOD is good. There are multiple class assessments. Seminars and presentations are conducted in our college.

It provides good infrastructure, library, and placements can be better.

Placements: Around 15-20% of students were placed. Most pharmaceutical companies come for hiring during the end of semester 3 of the master's degree and continue for 2-3 months. Incharge notifies at least 3-4 days in advance so that students can prepare for an interview. Zydus, Cadila, Sun pharma, Aakash and Allen institute visit to hire students. Others may vary based on the agreement between the college and company. The average salary offered was Rs 15,000 per month which gradually increased based on experience and performance. QA, QC, and analyst were common job titles for pharma companies. There was a mandatory summer internship where students got scientific exposure.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. It provides good library where students can borrow books for a week at least. Wi-Fi was provided only if students get their laptop registered but connectivity was not good. The classrooms were good with projectors. There was no air-conditioner in 2018-2020. The hostel facility was good it was in sharing among 2-6 students in a room. Both air-conditioner and non-air-conditioner rooms were available. There was a mess on the campus and it was indeed affordable. The food was good, and students get a lot of varieties of food.

Faculty: Teachers were well qualified with the Ph.D. degree. Most of them had 10 years of teaching experience in their respective field. The teaching quality was good and they teach mainly with powerpoint presentations. Course curriculum makes students ready for industry. Semester exams were easy to pass if students works hard from the beginning.

Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in it. Scholarships should be provided to students who were program toppers. Many extra-curricular activities were conducted across the year. Many live events were conducted. Singing, dancing, painting many more competitions were conducted every year.

Placements: As this university is in the 4th position among all private colleges in India as per the list of 2020, obviously placements are very good. Many companies like Zydus Cadila, Cipla, etc., offer placement opportunities to students of our university. The salary package offered by companies is totally worth our efforts.

Infrastructure: All infrastructure and instruments for our biotechnology course are available. Our lab is completely well settled and properly suitable. The hostel is very well built, especially for students who are from out of town. The food served in the mess is very tasty and of better quality. The environment of the hostel and college is very peaceful.

Faculty: Teachers of our course and also other faculty members are very helpful and kind here. They all are PhD doctors. Their teaching quality is very impressive, and they teach not only by normal method but also by other devices like projectors, etc. They train students so that students completely cope with the industry.

Other: I chose the biotechnology course as it provides great knowledge. If opportunities in India for this course increase, it would be great for India. Many events and fests or activities are celebrated in our university. Our college is absolutely worth to take admission to.

It is a good institute with great teachers, opportunities and exposure.

Placements: Around 70%-80% of the students got placed from our university. Recruiters are pharmaceutical companies and coaching centres like Sun Pharma, Zydus, Akash and Allen. Roles offered are lecturers, clinical associate and research associate. The salary package offered ranges from 2 LPA-4 LPA.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are excellent in our college. The library has all the required books for the courses offered by our institute. Laboratories are fully equipped for research and experimental works. Sports and game facilities are also available on the campus only. The quality and hygiene of the food are the best here.

Faculty: The course curriculum designed for students is very beneficial and makes them industry-ready. The course curriculum is relevant. Teachers are highly qualified with excellent teaching quality. They are helpful as well and encourage students to give their best.

Other: Our college has lush green and eco-friendly surroundings. Events and fests are organised here. I wish that the evaluation part needs more attention and improvement.

Good facility, nice environment and good placement.

Placements: Total 110 students are in campus for biochemistry course. And total 70 students placed in different company via university recruitment company and top companies are zydus and appolo. They offered role of manager, lab testing in quality control department.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi labs are there. Classroom are there. And library is well Facilitated and classrooms are clean and nice. Also labs are highly equipped and hostel life is good but expensive too. Games and sports are good so anyone can enjoy and refresh themselves. And canteen is highly developed.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and good, teaching quality is nice and also cv writing lectures are helpful. Many other courses are offered and they are very subjective and helpful to expand the knowledge at industry level also well going environment and internship programme is well deserved.

Other: I choose biochemistry for my career because I want to expand my self as a researcher and also I got scholarship of 2000 from my tuition fees and campus life is good.

It's a beautiful place to stay and study. It have all the facilities.

Placements: Many companies come to campus for the placement, college trained us for the interview and internship was also provided by the college. Different profiles and package were offered to us. Both freshers and work experience students got the good placement.

Infrastructure: Very good and attractive. It has basketball court, Badminton court and gym also. It has huge playground for different activities. A auditorium for the people of around 300. A huge mess is in the campus for food. Hostels are also there inside the campus.

Faculty: Very efficient and effective, a well trained and experienced faculty is there to teach students. Many of the faculty use the latest technology to teach students. Courses are designed as per international and industry norms. All the classes are designed according to the needs of the students.
