Unveiling IMI Kolkata: A student's perspective (2024).

Faculty: The course is divided into trimesters. IMI Kolkata keeps changing its curriculum according to the latest industry trends and needs. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced and are always ready to help the students, wherever and whenever they need it. Regarding exams, 30 percent weight is given to the end trimester exam. The rest is divided between a series of assignments, group projects, case studies, and class performance.

My journey so far at IMI Kolkata (batch of 2023 - 25).

Faculty: The faculty members are graduates from IITs and Iims and will go out of traditional teaching methods to give students the gist of the real life business environment, they will use case studies, research articles, simulations to teach you about topics and clear concepts. There are subjects covering every domain such as OB&HR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Analytics. Exams are held in objective mode through IMI-K portals and the weightage is split in 70/30 where 70 is given on assignments are pr...

Absolutely loving my experience in the college.

Faculty: Faculty members of the college are absolutely brilliant, all from good colleges (mostly from IITs and IIMs). Almost all of them have a Ph.D. and years of work experience in both the teaching and corporate worlds to help the students learn about the latest industry trends. The teachers are very approachable and are available after classes for any doubts. Classes are always very interactive and insightful. The college provides enough industry exposure as it is strategically located in the center o...

Amazing infrastructure along with the quality teachers.

Faculty: As our batch was covid batch, the exams conducted were an open book and the difficulty level was set accordingly. The teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable and prepare us welp for exams. Not only this, but the knowledge provided to us is such that it makes us industry ready.

Our college has the best infrastructure.

Faculty: Faculty members are tremendously knowledgeable. We can learn many things from them. They provide us with knowledge. As the batch size is not huge compared to other colleges, our faculty members give individual attention to students. They provide tutorials for students if they need some extra attention on a particular topic. They make us industry-ready. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that most of the classes are case-based, and we get a chance to understand real business problems...

College experience has exceeded our expectations.

Faculty: One of the best points of IMI Kolkata is that the faculty are highly qualified and they have very good experience in their respective fields. College provides frequent visits, which really helps students to get more exposure to the industry. Difficulty of exam differs from semester to semester. Sometimes the level is easy, while sometimes it is quite very tough. So to comment on whether that would be the standard of exams in future is not right.

Our college has top class faculty and infrastructure.

Faculty: Teachers are good and are always helpful. Students can reach out to them. The course curriculum is relevant as it helps students to be ready for the industry. Industrial visits are conducted timely. We have 6 trimesters. Exams are conducted every trimester apart from the internals. Difficulty level of the exams is moderate. The pass percentage is 40%.

Faculty: Teachers are good and experienced. Some subject teachers were not that experienced but gave a good perspective on life. Overall I am satisfied. Guest lectures were held weekly which gave us a real-life perspective to us on how the corporate world works.

I am not satisfied because of its placements.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful but since students have done education through online mode they can understand all the concepts thoroughly. Students will get a lot of assignments, projects, and presentations that will help students to learn how to speak and how to use different types of softwares.

I'm absolutely dissatisfied. The placements are not good.

Faculty: Some teachers are good. The whole curriculum is not relevant. In 2 years' time, multiple subjects are taught in a hurry. I am sure no one even remembers the names of all of the subjects. There are a lot of exams. You won't know how two years will pass by given so many exams.

The college has great placements, faculty and infrastructure.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly trained and seasoned professionals with a considerable amount of academic and industry experience. Instead of a one-way lecture session, they always encourage interaction. They are constantly eager to assist us with all our concerns, even when we are not in class. The course content is revised regularly to keep up with the current industry demands. In the class, the students are taught subjects that are critical to today's world. The teaching method is highly relia...

It is a new but booming B-school of India with excellent teaching faculty members.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with decades of industry experience or volumes of research. Apart from their impeccable subject knowledge, teachers use many tools to aid teaching, including the latest software, data visualisation tools, and even mobile apps. As such, the reputation of the teachers of IMI Kolkata has crossed the national boundaries, with many of them collaborating with international researchers and taking part in a variety of competitions to make their mark. Also, one of our market...

It is a good college with good placements and SIP opportunities.

Faculty: The professors are highly knowledgeable and particular about studies as well. If any student needs any help with research works or course studies. They are always there to help. They not only impart skills through classroom teaching but also conduct various case studies that give a real-life problem-solving attitude and learnings.
