Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at Jain College of Engineering - JCE?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at Jain College of Engineering (JCE)

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell at JCE:

    * Placement Statistics: According to the reviews, nearly 400 students were placed by the placement cell, with approximately 65% of students securing jobs. The highest salary package offered was INR11 LPA, while the lowest was between INR2 LPA to INR3 LPA.
    * Recruiting Companies: The placement cell attracts various companies, including Infosys, TCS, Extra Marks, Federal Bank, and HESCOM, among others.
    * Internship Opportunities: Students have access to both paid and unpaid internship opportunities, with around 20-30 out of 100 students participating in internships.

While the placement cell appears to be somewhat effective, with a significant number of students being placed, there may be room for improvement in terms of providing more internship opportunities and increasing the frequency of campus placements.

It's essential to note that these statistics might vary depending on individual branches and departments within the college. For instance, one reviewer mentioned that their Electronic and Communication Engineering branch had a particularly strong placement record.

Overall, the placement cell seems to be making efforts to secure job opportunities for its students, although there may be areas for growth and development.

    Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The batch of 2023-27 of artificial intelligence and machine learning is the first batch of Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi. As AI is in the trend currently most of the companies are interested in hiring from this department. Also, many students get hired every year.
Infrastructure: Good Wi-Fi service and well clean and maintained labs with all the required facilities are available in the lab. The library is so amazing, and it has a variety of books such as academic books from every department. Not only the UG books they also have reference books as well as post-graduation books.
Faculty: In B.E total we have 8 semesters, and each semester we have to write 2-3 internal examinations, 1 lab internal examination and at last the final examination. The final examination paper is prepared by the university (VTU). If you have attended all the classes, then it will be very easy during the final semester exam if not then very difficult to understand.
Other: I was very much interested in coding subjects. I studied Biology in my 12th yet I was so much interested to learn about all the coding languages. My favourite coding language is Python. Talking about events in our college the most awaited and the biggest event is "ODYSSEY".

Nowadays, the college is improving and hope in the future, the students will get more help.
Placements: Most of the students were placed in our course. But the highest package offered was 6 lacs per annum. The average package offered was 4 lacs per annum. The lowest package offered was about 2–2.5 lacs per annum. Some of the top companies are HP, Infosys, and HCL, which are the recruiters for our college students. 70 percent of students got internships in our course.
Infrastructure: Facilities that are available in our course or department are classrooms, benches, libraries, and labs. There is no hostel available at our college and students live in some rooms. Good-quality food is available in the college mess and canteen. There are also sports facilities and medical facilities in case of emergencies.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is also good. Yes, the course curriculum is excellent and it makes the students industry-ready. Of course, the semester exams are difficult for all the students and almost all the students get passed, like 95 percent of the students.
Other: Initially from PUC, I was interested in a CS course. So I chose this course. I like to code. I wish that assignments would be reduced in our course. And festivals and extracurricular activities are enjoyable in college.

Infrastructure: College buldings are good and well maintained , they consider greenery as one of the most important thing and focus more on gardening etc, good classrooms , libraries but only course related books are found in the library, and that is what made me feel bad about .

Good placements in 2021 but not satisfied.
Placements: Last year, approximately 60% students got placed. The highest package is 8 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. Almost all the students did internship from different companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not much good. Infrastructure is good for all. Wi-Fi is provided but it is limited. Labs are good but not with sufficient equipment. Maintenance is not good. Classrooms and library are better than labs. Hostel is very small and not well maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified and but their teaching quality is poor. Exams are difficult but students almost pass in every semester. But not supportive social activities, sports and other activities are there. Faculty members are not enough experienced but they are knowledgeable.

Good placements in 2020, and in 2022 only around 20% of students are placed.
Placements: Around 20% of students got placed in our course. The highest package offered was INR 12 LPA, the lowest package was around INR 3 LPA, on an average, package would be around INR 5 LPA. L&T, TCS, AMAZON, MUSIGMA, COGNIZANT, ACCENTURE, HDFC Life Insurance were the top recruiting companies for our course. Programmer, software developer were the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, with limited Wi-Fi facility and there is network connection in the campus. The canteen food hygiene is properly maintained. The grounds are cleaned and well maintained. There is a bus facility for every student coming to the college from every corner of the city, there are around 15 buses.
Faculty: Talking about the academics, teachers are very friendly and the teaching is good, we are free to ask them doubts anytime. I can't say if the course curriculum is properly relevant. It depends on single person whether he is participating in other activities such as getting internships, studying about computer courses etc. I don't think semester exams are that difficult, if you want to just pass the exams, then you can refer old question papers and you can easily pass the exams.
Other: Campus crowd is very friendly and supportive. I chose Mechanical engineering because you will have wide ranges of career choices as you go into core mechanical companies and also in IT companies. I think Wi-Fi facility in our college should be improved. Every student should get unlimited Wi-Fi because you only get around 50 MB of data which is very less. Events are organized very regularly by college and also by university. There will be more events organised in even semesters such as sports, quiz, annual day, freshers day, Kannada Balaga Sambramacharane etc. You can get government scholarships based on your category from around 20,000 to 80,000 per year.

Best college and I gave 8 out of 10 to it.
Placements: In our batch, there are up to 100+ students, and the highest package is of 7.5 LPA, and the top recruiting companies are Infosys, Mahindra, etc. Not much, but up to 75 to 80 percent of students got internships from our course. College transforms you into a more independent and confident individual.
Infrastructure: The faculty is good, but the lab instruments are just average, and the Wi-Fi system is there but not in working condition; some days it's on, but some days it's off, and our college has no hostel, and the preference to the sports is below average. The college provides a decent foundation for learning, but the lab equipment could use some upgrades to match modern standards and enhance practical learning experiences.
Faculty: There are so many activities held in our college, and the best part is that in all the colleges among the Belgaum, our college conducts more curriculum activity. While the college provides a decent academic foundation, there is room for improvement in extracurricular activities to ensure students have a well-rounded experience and opportunities to develop diverse skills.
Other: There is such a peaceful environment in our college; there is not much crowd, and the organization of the events and extracurricular activities are also good.
