The college has an excellent brand recognition in the market. The college has begun steps to connect the alumni and the current students which is helping the current students to understand what is really required to be in the industry. The college has also started to encourage students to take part in B-School competition which is also a great initiative.

Located in one of the central locations of Mumbai, this is one of the very few colleges that treats education as a value and not as business. If you have a zest to improve and enrich your personality along with decent placements, then this is the right place for you. Nothing is forced, but left to the individual. Campus life and infrastructure is top class. The corporate connections of the college are well utilised in terms of guest lectures and placements.

KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), Mumbai gives a lot of exposure to the students. The pedagogy is comparable to the top tier B-Schools and the placements are decent with an average of Rs 7.8 lakhs and needless to say, the college enjoys all the advantages that the financial capital of India has to offer.

It’s good value for money and has amazing faculty members. Campus facilities are nice and sports activities are one of the best across B-Schools all over India. Only thing college lagging behind is too much of ethics and ideologies followed by college management.

There is a good mix of students from different parts of the country. Students have a very healthy atmosphere to learn and interact here. Seniors are supportive and there is no kind of ragging done here. The placement cell at SIMSR is very robust. The average package offered is around Rs 6-7 lakhs p.a. and the highest package is about Rs 12-15 Lakhs p.a. SIMSR is among the TOP 20 B-schools of India.

SUMMARY So here's the quickie for the impatient ones. Go for it without a blink, if your priority is return on investment - getting a competent average package vis-a-vis your landed fee. The key positives are location, the infrastructure-rich campus itself, the 'recognized' Somaiya brand, diverse range of corporations lining up for placement, faculty with rich industry exposure, omnipresent and increasingly well-leveraged alumni base. That said, the areas of improvements in that order are an in...

K J SIMSR is one of the finest institute in the country and among the best available in the financial capital of India. I am currently studying in 2nd year and I found the institute best suits to my requirements. To start with, there is no other way but to begin with sprawling campus of Somaiya Vidyavihar which I still fall in love with. The most clean, green and pollution-free campus, next only to IIT Bombay. State-of-the-art facilities, right from books in the library to the software are up-to...

Pros: Infrastructure, Experienced Faculty and lots of options for extracurricular activities, fun filled fests and mix of committees to learn and develop interpersonal skills Cons:- Less salary packages compared to other B-Schools in Mumbai. It's amazing college with superb faculty but needs to be more aggressive in terms of it's corporate presence. It has amazing facility and faculty but lack the corporate push. The support from the teaching staff is amazing but management purely focus on education delivery rather than enhancing the skill set along with curriculum.

This institute is known as SIMSR in popular parlance. While the faculty and pedagogy is mediocre at best, the quality of students for the PGDM course is good. Peer learning is good. But of late, the institute has severely increased its batch strength, resulting in dilution of brand and compromise of placements. It’s a value for money for freshers.

Review of SIMSR Mumbai - KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research.

Placements: Placements are conducting very good this year, and the average salary package offered this year is around 11 LPA. Any student who is in the top 25% of the batch utilises the opportunity to get more than 15 LPA. Course wise salary packages until the previous year is provided on the website for better clarity. But placements are common for all the courses.
