The Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Manipal offers 250 seats for its undergraduate medical course, which is the MBBS program.

The admission to the MBBS programme is based on the merit in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) followed by counseling. Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. For admission to the postgraduate courses, including MD, MS, and M.Sc, candidates must have an MD/MS degree in the relevant field with an aggregate of minimum 60% marks. Candidates are selected based on their merit in the last qualifying examination.

Q:   Can I get direct admission to various courses at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore?

Applicants cannot get direct admission in any of the undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty or fellowship programme offered by the college. The college accepts the scores and rank of multiple entrance examinations. Candidates must appear for NEET UG for admission in MBBS programme, NEET PG for MD programmes. Q:   Which subjects have to be studied for MET?

A: 

As per the MET syllabus, the candidates will have to study Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and English. The various topics and units of the syllabus that has to be studied for the examination is released through the syllabus of MET. It is to be noted that the MET syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard qualifying examination. Candidates are advised to check the official exam pattern to know how the questions were divided into question paper sections.

Q:   When did NTA release the NEET 2024 result?

A: 

The NEET 2025 result is expected to be released in the first week of June 2025, within a month of conducting the exam. NTA does not announce the NEET result date in advance. Although last year the result date was stated to be declared on June 14, NTA released it 10 days in advance. Hence, there is no fixed date or schedule for NTA to declare the NEET result. Prior to the declaration of the result, NTA releases the final NEET answer key. Last year, NEET was conducted on May 5 and the result was declared June 4.

Q:   What is the level of MET?

A: 

MET is one of the popularly picked private engineering entrance exams by the students so the difficulty level of MET is quite high. However, the students who have qualified 12th standard examination will be able to qualify the examination if they prepare according to the official syllabus. The syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard syllabus. The candidates will be assessed on their knowledge in various topics in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. 

Q:   What is the division of questions in the MET paper?

A: 

The total number of questions to be answered in the MET paper is 60. Candidates will have to attempt two types of questions in the paper - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. In the Mathematics section, the candidates will have to answer 15 MCQ and 5 NAT questions. For the Physics and Chemistry section, there are 10 MCQs and 5 NAT questions. Finally, for the English section, there were a total of 10 MCQs.
