Review of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
Placements: Batch strength: 250 I have not passed out yet but according to my knowledge and some seniors, most of the students don't go for placement; they either do NEET PG or foreign entrance examinations like USMLE and PLAB. Few who wants to work in hospital get recruited easily. The package range is 1-2 lacs monthly.
Infrastructure: 1.Lecture:- Lecture halls are big and accommodate half of batch at a time. Fully air-conditioned and well lit. Speakers are good too. Faculty usually use PowerPoint and projectors. 2. Hostels : Three types of hostels are available for boys. Hostel room with minimum cost are also nice. The expensive one is quite luxurious. 3. Library:- The library is the best place of the college. It is huge and has ambiance for study. 4.Mess:- Mess is also clean and decent. They serve healthy meals. But once you join mess, it is difficult to eat somewhere else . 5.Sports complex:- Marena sports complex is a large building consisting of many sports sections like badminton, table tennis, swimming, turf for football, gym, etc. for gym, you have to pay monthly fee. 6.Hospital:- It is always jam-packed. For MBBS students, there is lot to learn from. There is a student clinic also for students when they get sick.
Faculty: 1. Teachers and faculties: Faculty are good in number in each department. They are always excited to teach. (Ratio:-1:20) They even help you personally if you get into trouble. 2 Curriculum: It's a vast course with 19 subjects; it makes you knowledgeable and useful in society. It is hectic but sure fruitful. If you like to study for whole life, go for it. 3. Examinations: Exams are divided into theories and practicals. Passing marks are 50%. Internal marks decides your eligibility for exam. All NMC guidelines are strictly followed (attendance, etc.). Overall, exams are slightly difficult. Out of 250 , 240 students passes out.
Other: 1. Why did I choose this course?? Simply because it has lots of study and I like to study. If you are not dedicated, don't go for this degree. It is hectic for even those who like the course. 2. The time they give to teach individual subjects is very little, even reduced recently. There should be real counselling support for students, as most of them go into mental health problems. They should include a different compulsory subject other than health science for widening the perspective. More research should happen. 3. Many events and festivals are there all over the year. Annual day, sports meet, cultural fests, etc. are there. Students and faculties both participate. 4. The location of the college is geographically beautiful; it has both mountains and beaches nearby. Mangalore is the closest airport.

MBBS is difficult, but worth is in the END.
Placements: It's a MBBS course, so no such placement is there after an internship in which you get a stipend of 30,000, you give the NEET PG exam, and then if you are successful, you go for higher studies. People here give the USMLE exam as well as the PLAB and other licensing exams, though teaching is very good here.
Infrastructure: There is a free Wi-Fi facility in both the hostel and the library. The classes are well maintained, and everywhere is air-conditioned. The mess food is hygienic, and there is a sports facility known as MARENA, which takes a subscription but has all the sports, whatever.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, helpful, and highly qualified doctors. They know what they are teaching and are quite passionate about it. The course is a CBME-based curriculum and is updated each passing year. Exams are quite difficult and require rigorous preparation, but it is worth it in the end.

Overall, placements in our batch were good.
Placements: Placements were very good for our 2022 batch. In my course, a student got placed for 18 LPA in campus selection. The lowest package offered was 6 LPA. Many companies offered internships, including hospitals and top companies. Regardless, placements were good, with roles in the medical field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with many facilities available. There is a good library with two library cards. We can take any two books home for 15 days to read, after which we need to renew. The hostel facilities are also good. The mess and canteen have good facilities.
Faculty: Many teachers are like gods to me. They have over 13 years of experience and hold master's qualifications. Students can build a good life here. The curriculum is fully relevant and good. Semester exams are challenging to pass, requiring hard work every day.

Kasturba medical College : comprehensive review.
Placements: So in medical, there is no system of placements as such, but everyone is required to do a one-year internship in Kasturba Hospital itself. The stipend given is 30,000, and anyone who has passed the final year will be eligible for the internship. It is done in all departments of the hospital over the course of one year. The college gives you an extended period of another year to complete 365 days.
Infrastructure: The college has a lot of high-tech facilities that are academic-related. For example, the labs are great, everything is up-to-date and the latest, there is no overcrowding of classrooms, and the seating is very comfortable. The projector is great, and the study environment, including AC, is great. All the hostels have Wi-Fi facilities. It is a little difficult to find Wi-Fi in the labs and hospital, but it can be done if you get the official password. The hostels range from cheap to expensive. The cheaper ones are slightly older buildings and older rooms. The furniture is very basic: bed, table, cupboard, chair with a little bit of storage. There are options for AC and non-AC rooms, single and double rooms. The expensive hostel is very nice. It is almost like a hotel. The furniture is new, and the building is new. There are three messes available on the campus along with the food court with many restaurants, including Subway. There is a very big sports complex called Arena which includes all the sports and activities. The library is beautiful. It is six floors with many facilities and is open until 12 AM at night. The campus is lovely overall.
Faculty: All the professors are highly qualified doctors with vast knowledge. If a student is unhappy with any teaching style, they can reach out to the department. Teaching is mainly conducted through lectures, PPT tutorials, self-learning, assignments, group discussions, clinics, and labs. The curriculum is provided by the NMC, and the college adheres to it, ensuring that everything learned is useful in one's medical career. There are three exams over the year: two semester exams and one final university exam. The semester exams are usually tougher than the final exam, which covers the entire syllabus. The pass percentage is 50%. Even if a student fails the semester exams but achieves a cumulative of 50%, they will be eligible for the final exam.
Other: I chose this course because it was affordable to me and I had heard many great reviews. I love everything about the academics. The hospital system could be slightly improved. Campus life outside academics is also great. There is absolutely everything available here, from sports to clubs. It really depends on the lifestyle that you want, and there is no peer pressure. There are multiple events and festivals that happen throughout the year in our college and other colleges of the university. There are student-run clubs covering various interests like academics, media, sports, etc. The extracurricular activity culture is more prevalent in other colleges than in medical, but we still have everything. The college provides scholarships to students with high marks and ranks in NEET UG. Students must maintain a certain grade throughout college; otherwise, their scholarship may be revoked.

I did my MBBS from Kasturba College.
Placements: Our college is one of the best private colleges for MBBS. Almost 100% of the students get placements at our college. The average package offered in our college was between 8-13 LPA. The top recruiters in the college were various big private hospitals. 100% of the students get internships at our college.
Infrastructure: This college had very good infrastructure for the MBBS course. The college had all the medical facilities for students' practical and interactive learning. Wi-Fi, library, canteen, labs, etc., were available on the campus for the students of our course.
Faculty: Faculty of the college were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. All the teachers were experienced and had proper knowledge in the medical field. The course curriculum was relevant and made the students industry-ready. Exams at the college were not easy to pass.
