Q:   Is B.Com at Raheja College a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

While studying at Raheja College, students reported mixed reviews about the institution. Here's what they said:

Infrastructure and Facilities:

* Poor infrastructure and facilities (Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library)
* Limited and outdated computer labs
* Small and cramped classrooms
* No hostel facility
* Average canteen food and limited seating capacity
* Small and poorly ventilated auditorium

Teaching and Academics:

* Qualified and experienced teachers, but some are lenient and don't cover the whole syllabus
* Teaching methods are traditional, with little emphasis on industry exposure
* Course relevance and curriculum design receive mixed feedback
* Pass percentage is generally high, around 75%

Placement and Internship Opportunities:

* Very limited placement opportunities, mostly in the banking sector
* Few companies visit the college for campus recruitments, offering average salaries ranging from INR13,000 to INR45,000 per month
* No internships provided by the college; students must find their own
* Alumni network seems non-existent

Campus Life and Extracurricular Activities:

* Limited extracurricular activities and fests
* Small campus with limited green spaces
* Gymkhana facilities are available but require renovation
* No scholarship opportunities available

Conclusion: While Raheja College may have its strengths, the general consensus suggests that it falls short in terms of infrastructure, facilities, and placement opportunities. Students seeking a well-rounded educational experience might want to explore alternative options. However, those interested in pursuing a degree in Commerce may still consider applying if they prioritize academic excellence over these areas.

Course Curriculum Structure for B.Com at Raheja College

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of how the course curriculum is structured for B.Com at Raheja College:

* Teaching Methodology: The college uses a traditional teaching approach, focusing on theory-based learning. Lectures are delivered by qualified and experienced faculty members who aim to clarify any doubts students may have.
* Curriculum Relevance: Reviewers agree that the curriculum is relevant and prepares students for real-world scenarios. The programme covers essential topics in commerce, equipping graduates with fundamental knowledge and skills.
* Assessment: Semester exams are considered manageable, providing opportunities for students to showcase their understanding of the subjects. Weekly tests and revision lectures also help reinforce learning.
* Industry Exposure: While the college doesn't provide direct industry exposure, reviewers mention that the faculty helps prepare students for future careers. However, internship opportunities seem limited, with only 20-30% of students getting internships.

Overall, the course curriculum at Raheja College focuses on building strong foundations in commerce principles, preparing students for entry-level positions and further education. While there might be scope for improvement in terms of industry exposure and placements, the college seems committed to delivering quality education and supporting students' growth.

One of the best college /course in Mumbai for its fests, activities, and co-curriculum in 2024.
Placements: Hi Alayna Ansari here, about 50% of students were placed in my Finance Market course. I think BFM had only one package, which was 38,800 for the first year, 32,200 for the second year, and 29,000 for the third year. In Mumbai, the top recruiting companies are Dream Rose consultancy, Tango placements, & also JP consultancy. I don't have an idea about what percent of students got placement, as I am an M.A. first-year student only yet. Sales, finance, and stock markets are where the TP roles are offered.
Infrastructure: In my college, there are quite nice facilities available, like Wi-Fi, laboratories, AC classrooms, libraries, clean canteens, etc. The food quality is genuinely nice and not so expensive as well and the quantity as well is generous, There are also availability of medical needs, sports grounds, badminton, chess, etc.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and also qualified; they always made us understand every detail. Teaching quality is good as well. Yes, BFM courses make us industry-ready, as we are provided with many other curriculum activities. Passing percentages are at least 35%, and the difficulty of exams is pretty moderate here.
Other: I chose this course because it had my interests in stock markets. Maybe it could be improved if they could add something interesting to it. We have one of the best crowds, fests, and co-curricular activities in Raheja College.

Great college, very good campus, infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The highest package some students got was like above 5.6 LPA, and average was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Asian paints, Vodafone, Motilal Oswal, etc. The campus placements can be improved; more good companies should be brought for placements and higher packages should be offered. There are at least 40%-45% of students who got internships during their 2nd and 3rd year.
Infrastructure: The facilities are top-notch; Wi-Fi is good, and classrooms are not bad either. There is no hostel. The canteen food is good quality, and we have a variety of sports and games to play. There is also a variety of food options available in the canteen.
Faculty: Teachers are great; they are very helpful, and their teaching techniques are not bad either. The course is very curriculum-relevant; it obviously makes the students industry-ready. About semester exams, they are not that difficult; we mostly get our marks through assignments and presentations.
Other: To be honest, I chose this course because I didn't know what I wanted to do. The things that they can improve are that they can teach better in an innovative way; sometimes classes feel too boring. Events and festivals are good, and the campus is great. The campus surroundings are the best, like you get green views and open ground both on the same campus.

Very good college if you wish to study; there are many opportunities.
Placements: So as I'm in my second year of BAF, I have not yet received placements, but I have heard from my seniors that the college does provide internships and placements. They form a group where they post different companies providing jobs, so if we are willing, we can contact them directly.
Infrastructure: There is a Wi-Fi facility that can be connected easily and used without limits. Classrooms are well-maintained, with some being air-conditioned, while others are not, but they plan to work on this. I don’t think there are any hostel facilities, or if there are, I'm not aware of them.
Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly and help wherever students face difficulties. They encourage participation in everything and make sure students' doubts are cleared, no matter what. They are also well-qualified.
Other: Raheja College has a very good campus with a Gymkhana and a big ground known as the turf where students can play badminton, football, etc. After lectures, students can also visit the turf and enjoy the greenery.

Please do take admission in this college.
Placements: Around INR 50 lacs was the highest package. But the infrastructure and facilities are very poor. I'm kicking myself for enrolling in this college. I request that you not take admission in this college and keep this college as your last choice during admission.
Infrastructure: Food is not that good. In the lab, the computers are working very slowly. So I would like to share that don't take admission in this college. Crowd is the worst in this college. All Juhu koliwada chapari people are in this college. Many times, hands-to-hands fights have happened.
Faculty: There is one sir named Devnani. He thinks that he is the boss of the college. I prefer not to take admission in this college. I would like to say that if you don't get into another college, then only take admission in this college. But only choose B.Com. in this college.
Other: Events, fest, etc. are not good.

Satisfied with the teachers/faculty and also with the campus.
Placements: Most of the students got placed well in the companies. The highest package was 45000 per month and the lowest went for about 18000. Top companies Include Tata, General Insurance. About 65% of students got internship from my course. Top roles are promoting business.
Infrastructure: Classroom is well maintained and hygienic. Classroom have Good infrastructure with digital boards. Library is very soothing with its pleasant atmosphere there. Canteen food is average not a high class one but one can enjoy. Sports is well maintained in the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful they help in clearing all the doubts related to the topic. Teachers always encourages us to study well to do well. The course is very relevant it is not only given them book knowledge but also making industry ready. Semesters are not so touch. If learnt well can easily qualify.
Other: One thing I would like to give as a recommdation is to provide initial information about the industries so that one can ask there doubt clearly. Otherwise college is good.

This college committee is very strict regarding attendance.
Placements: I didn't know much about it because I didn't go to college regularly. I just heard from other students that there is not much placement offer for B.Com students as campers other than the B.Com course. According to me, the college committee must focus on placement.
Infrastructure: The gymkhana in the college was quite good. There was enough to play like carrom board, table tennis, chase or cricket, bat, etc., but despite having such a big playground in the college, the children did not get to play and there was not even a gym for children's fitness. The library facilities were very nice.
Faculty: Lectures used to run regularly in the college. All the faculty used to come on time and also got proper lectures conducted. Teacher staff is also very friendly in nature and they help children a lot in doubt solving too. The college professors are well qualified.
Other: There were many events in the college, which was a lot of fun to attend and got to learn something new and I also made new friends.
