UG programmes (Aided courses)

To apply for any specialization under BA or BCom, you need to pass your higher secondary school examination or its equivalent.

BA Tamil- Ranking is based up on marks in Tamil (out of 100).

BA English- Ranking is based upon marks in English in HSC (out of 100).

BA History- Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BA Psychology & Sociology- Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BA Economics (Tamil Medium) and BA Economics (English Medium)- The candidate must pass the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BCom- Should pass Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (400 marks).

BSc Mathematics- You should pass the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BSc Physics- The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BSc Chemistry- The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. The mandatory subjects are physics and chemistry. Ranking is based upon the aggregate marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (out of 400 marks).

BSc Botany- Should pass the Higher Secondary School Examination or Equivalent. Should have studied Botany, Zoology or Biology and Chemistry or Biochemistry. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BSc Zoology Biotechnology- You should pass the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Botany, Zoology/Biology and Chemistry. Ranking is based upon aggregate marks excluding Language papers (out of 400 marks).

BSc Zoology Fashion Designing- Should pass the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Ranking is based upon marks in HSC excluding Tamil/Hindi (out of 500).

UG programmes (Self-finance)

BA English- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent

Ranking based on marks in English in HSC (out of 100)

BBA- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Vocational Stream cannot apply

BSc Computer Applications- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Mathematics and Physics as main subjects.

BSc Information Technology & Management- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects.

BSc Mathematics with Computer Applications- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

BSc Physics with Computer Applications- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Minimum scored need to be 50% in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry Papers.

BSc Biotechnology- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Botany, Zoology/Biology and Chemistry/Biochemistry or

Biotechnology.

BSc Fashion Designing- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent.

BCom with Computer Applications- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy.

BCom with Corporate Secretary ship- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy.

BCom with Banking & Insurance- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy.

BCom with Professional Accounting- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy.

BCom (Honours)- Should have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination or its equivalent. Should have studied Commerce and Accountancy.

PG programmes (Aided)

MA Tamil- Should have passed the 3-year degree courses recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University. Other major students should have studied Tamil under Part I at the undergraduate level.

MA English- Should have passed the 3-year BA English degree course recognised by Madurai Kamaraj University. Other major students should have studied English under Part II at the undergraduate level over 4 semesters.

MA History- Should have passed the 3-year degree course recognized by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

MA Economics- Should have passed the 3-year degree course recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Mathematics- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in Mathematics / Mathematics with Computer Applications recognised by Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Zoology (Spl. in Biotechnology)- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in BSc, Zoology/ Biotechnolog recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University. Students majoring in Biochemistry (BSc Biochemistry) and Microbiology (BSc Microbiology) are NOT eligible.

PG programmes (Self-finance)

MCom- Should have a 3-year BCom degree, with an aggregate of 55% Marks.

MSW- Should have 3-year degree, recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Physics- You should pass the 3-year degree course in BSc Physics / BSc Physics with Computer Application recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University. Should have studied Maths as one of the subjects in both HSC and BSc.

MSc Chemistry- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in BSc Chemistry recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Botany- Should pass the 3-year degree course in BSc Botany under recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Biotechnology- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in BSc Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Zoology/Botany recognised by Madurai Kamaraj University.

MSc Computer Science- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in BSc Computer Applications or BSc Information Technology and Management or BSc Information Technology or BSc Computer Science or Bachelor of Computer Applications recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University. Should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary Level. Minimum 55% in Part III. Minimum 50% in Part III for SC/ST.

MSc Information Technology- Should have passed the 3-year degree course in BSc Computer Applications or BSc Information Technology and Management or BSc Information Technology or BSc Computer Science or Bachelor of Computer Applications recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University. Minimum 55% in Part III. Minimum 50% in Part III for SC/ST.

MSc Psychology- Should have passed the 3-year degree in Psychology recognised by the Madurai Kamaraj University.

PG Diploma programmes

To do any of the below mentioned courses, you need to have an undergraduate degree with minimum of 55% scores in Part III:

2. Selection is totally based upon merit (subject to availability of seats)

Note- SC/ST applicants are eligible to apply for Aided Courses free of cost but failure to submit a copy of the community certificate will result in cancellation of the application.

Lady Doak College was founded in 1948. There was a time when there was no institution for higher education exclusively for women in Madurai. The college is one of the first few Arts and Science colleges in Tamil Nadu. The college was re-accredited by NAAC in 2013; was awarded the status of “College with Potential for Excellence” by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, PG diploma and 11 certificate courses. At present, there are 4339 students studying in the departments of Humanities, Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration.
