Loreto College is one of the best for B.Ed in Kolkata.
Placements: The placement scenario in Loreto College for B.Ed course students is quite good. Every year, around 80% of students get placed via college and the rest also get off-campus calls. Schools from different parts of the country Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal, etc., demand teachers passed out from Loreto College. During the two years course, many good students also get chances for internships as guest teachers in many schools within Kolkata by the college.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-equipped with comfortable seating arrangements for students. Air-conditioners and Wi-Fi are available in every class. The library has well-stocked books that a student of Loreto College requires during their course span. It has more than 50,000 books. The languages in which books are available are English, Hindi, Bengali, French, German, and other European languages. The college has a hygienic canteen with affordable meals for students. Free meals are also available for students in need. Good quality of food is served there. There is no hostel as such for B.Ed students, but, however, students can opt for PGs outside the campus since the college is in the city center Park Street.
Faculty: Teachers here are among the best in the whole region. They are very helpful and very knowledgeable with good teaching quality. The course is well-designed to fit the modern atmosphere with practical understandings like internships that are mandatory for every student. Extra-curricular activities like yoga, art, dance, music, etc., are also a part and mandatory with the regular studies, which also carry marks in the semesters. Every student in the class is also asked to be attentive and communicate as much as they can even in online classes videos/face cams are asked to turn on. Passing the semesters is not a big deal. Just a student needs to focus on studies which are needed. The pass percentage is around 35%.
Other: Every year cultural fests are held with a majority of students as participants. Drama, singing, dancing, etc., are a part of the annual fest. The college is well-connected being at the city center, Park Street. The nearest metro station is just 350m away. Transport systems like buses, auto, taxi, trams, etc., are available from outside the campus. Kolkata Airport is 17KMs away. There are no such recommendations to make the course better.

Other: This is an old and reputed college in Kolkata. Specially known for its literature and B.Ed. departments. The faculty members of this college is the jewel on its crown. They don't teach from the books but, instead, want you to understand and know the syllabus verbally. The fact that they are really experienced and have a passion for the subject they teach makes the love of the subject rub off on the students too. The professors are who I remember the most from my college days. Their personalities have left a mark on me that I'll carry eternally. Though the college is famous for being really strict, it isn't that bad once you're really involved in college activities. Professors are kind and generous and get you out of every logjam. Academics are given great importance here. One great drawback is that there are no campus placements happening. And co-curricular are not really fun or exciting, the college hold only one annual fest which I never really attracted to it. I guess it’s because of the limited ground space that the college isn't being able to develop or expand its infrastructure and get bigger and better canteen for instance, or more green space, etc. But join the college if you want a really enriching studying experience, but don't expect much fun or a great crowd either.

Other: The college is awesome by all means. The infrastructure is marvelous among all the graduation colleges of Kolkata. I am an English professor today because of the insights gained by me in Loreto. The teaching methods and the techniques used by the faculty members here is amazing. You will become a master of any subject what you study from this college. I love my college and I am proud to be a part of it.
