The placement opportunities in our college are not much great as there is no placement cell.
Placements: About 58% of the students were placed from our course. The average fee for our course is Rs. 20,400. There are many top recruiting companies for our course. About 21% of the students got internships from our course in Codezin Technology Solutions Private Limited. The top percentage of students from the batch got placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is fairly good. Our college is not built on a huge plot, but it is well designed such that space is properly used. Our college provides proper classrooms, a highly functional library and a canteen for students. Our college also has common rooms for students to sit, relax or play some board games. Loreto College provides all kinds of facilities like Wi-Fi on all the floors, laboratories for both geography and psychology and the library with daily newspapers, books, magazines, articles related to every genre. Moreover, medical facilities, restrooms and sports fields are also available on the campus. The quality of the food served in the canteen is quite good and average as per the price. This is an old and reputed college in Kolkata and especially known for its literature and B.Ed departments.
Faculty: The faculty members of this college are very important. They don't teach from the books, but instead, they want you to understand and know the syllabus verbally. The thing is they are really experienced and have a passion for the subject which they teach, which makes students also get interested in the subject. Teachers are excellent and well-trained. All of them have a minimum experience of 5 years. They are very supportive and experts in their fields. The combination of subjects provided in our college is very interesting and helps students to learn about different aspects of life. Teachers are very knowledgeable, helpful and qualified. Their teaching quality is good, and their teaching includes both presentations and reading-writing style like both audiovisual and discussions. The student to faculty ratio is also good. Professors who I remember the most from my college days have given an impression on me. Students of geography, psychology and economics departments got industry exposure. The college doesn't provide many placement opportunities, but it helps students by providing them with free courses, enrolment in coaching classes and TTC training. However, the college is trying to expand its control and opportunities for students.

Loreto College - Student life overview.
Placements: Loreto College provides undergraduate degrees to students majorly in the field of arts and economics. Recently the Masters programme for certain subjects were opened for the students. So the kind of courses offered need to be back by industry practice which is not available in the college. There are not many placement opportunities. No proper placement cell. Students need to look for summer internships by themselves. So I feel there needs to be improvement here.
Infrastructure: We had one main academic building divided into three wings. The classrooms were big, well lit, and had proper ventilation. We also had a air-conditioned hall, common room with basic gym facilities, table tennis table and provision to play badminton. The food available in the canteen was at a subsidised rate and was of good quality. We also had a well stocked library.
Faculty: Our department had four teachers and one head of the department. We had separate teachers for the elective subjects. All the teachers were properly qualified and had a lot of knowledge to share with the students. They encouraged class participation and stimulated curiosity in students. There was also a system of feedback mechanism for the faculty at the end of each term for better evaluation and improvement. The course during our tenure needed improvement and currently it had become more industry relevant.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty and no college placements in 2022.
Placements: The college has not offered any job roles for students pursuing Economics Honors in 2022. The placements are not as good as shown on the website. Only 1 out of 50 got placement in PWC company. Others went to study masters in the hope of getting better job opportunity.
Infrastructure: The computer labs, libraries, and canteens of the college were good. They need to improve their sports and games faculty. They also need to improve their medical facility. Their classroom facilities are also good, with projectors installed in some classes.
Faculty: The exams were moderately hard. Almost 80% of the students passed the exam. However, the teachers were very highly qualified, which made it hard for average students to grasp the basics. Also, sometimes the teachers did not use to finish the syllabus.
Other: The only thing that was good about this college were the different types of events they organized. Participating in such events was fun.

Campus life is not too exciting since we have extended hours of college which includes academic.
Placements: There were no placements in college, which was the reason after the completion of graduation, students need to find jobs themselves. The same goes for internships also. Our batch was outstanding. Everyone got admission in well-known universities as many of us got first class.
Infrastructure: There is a common room in which there are types of equipment for gym, badminton and carroms. There are computer labs and a well spacious library. Food is very reasonable here and also tasty. There are spacious and well-ventilated classrooms. We have a big lawn where students spent time during the break.
Faculty: Faculty members were excellent here. The professors were incredibly helpful and recommended opportunities. Faculty explain in detail if there were something students don't understand. In 3rd year there were above 250 students in the college. Each department of the college had 5-6 teachers.
Other: We have an annual fest Samagam to which college invites colleges of all over Kolkata to visit and participate in events.

Review of Loreto College.
Placements: Almost 80% of students are placed, and the rest 20% is still pursuing their masters. Loreto College is well-known all over the world, and I am happy to be a part of this world of excellence.
Infrastructure: Loreto College provides all kinds of facilities like Wi-Fi in all of the floors, laboratories for both geography and psychology, the library with daily newspapers, books, magazines, articles related to every genre, medical facilities, restroom, sports fields are available on the campus. Quality of foods in the canteen is quite good and average with the price. Labs and classrooms are well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable, helpful and qualified. Teaching quality was good with both presentations and reading-writing style like both audiovisual and discussions. The student to faculty ratio was also good. Students of geography, psychology and economics department got industry exposure. The course curriculum was extremely useful in many ways, like it was useful for our own betterment with behavioural terms, for having a sense of individual differences and for own betterment in studies and marks.
Other: Once a year, we had our college fest named Samagam. Psychology department conducted a fest named Kalakriti which explores the hidden talents of challenged individuals. Economics department conducted a fest named Ecolore, etc. Loreto College also celebrates each ceremony being it some birthdays or death anniversaries of renowned personalities or our college's birthday celebrations, etc. Campus crowd is good like each department had around 40 students approximately. In each year, a wide array of extracurricular activities are also conducted.

No good placements in the college.
Placements: There is no dedicated placement cell. Only 1% of students are contacted, indicating shady companies. The highest package offered, which is also the lowest, is 8 LPA. The only two companies that came were D.E. Shaw and ICICI Bank. There is no internship offered here at the college. The top roles offered are content writers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well maintained, and the washrooms are clean for the most part. There is no Wi-Fi. There is no lab. Hostels aren't provided by the college. The quality of food in the canteen is subpar and junk food can potentially cause vomiting. The canteen serves deep-fried foods.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and teach well for the most part. They are quite knowledgeable. The course curriculum lacks industry knowledge. The semester exams are not easy; the internals are very tough. The marking of internal exams is done in a very formal way.
Other: I chose this course because of its demand. The best thing about the course is how necessary the subject is these days. I wish the course would introduce programming languages to improve the course structure. There is an event or fest.
