Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. LL.B. programs at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. LL.B. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. LL.B. Programs at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies

    * Limited Efforts: According to students, the placement cell became active in 2020, but till now, internships provided are not satisfactory, and students rarely get an opportunity to apply for a good internship through this cell.
    * Off-Campus Placements: As the college does not make efforts to invite companies, students have to look for off-campus placements, which may lead to limited exposure and opportunities.
    * First Batch Experience: Since the B.A. LL.B. programme is relatively new (started in 2017), the college's placement record is still developing, and no placements have been recorded to date.
    * Future Prospects: Although the college promises to work towards providing good placement, students are optimistic about their future prospects due to the college's location in a city with many job opportunities and the presence of renowned law firms in the vicinity.

Note: These statements highlight the limitations and challenges faced by the placement cell, indicating that more efforts need to be made to improve the situation.

Overall, it was a good experience.
Placements: Placement is not that good for law students. There are very few students who got internships from the college. There are very few opportunities for students to get a placement through the college. Law students are bound to find the placement to their own.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is top-notch. Classes are fully air conditioned. Canteen serves good-quality food. A library consists of the of the latest edition of books. Overall infrastructure is so good, but the surrounding area of the college is so polluted because of cigarette smokers.
Faculty: Most teachers are highly qualified. Faculty is top-notch. The teachers are highly professional and experienced. The course is very Relevant. Yes, it helps the students get industry-ready. The semester exams are quite difficult, but previous year questions may help.

Average placement but good campus life.
Placements: The highest package is INR 10 LPA, the lowest package is INR 2 LPA, and the average package is around INR 5-6 LPA. More than 70% of students from my course secured internships in the Supreme Court, High Court, District Court, and various tribunals under reputed lawyers, as well as internships in esteemed law firms.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with smart boards. The library is well-stocked and includes computers for research or study. There are 5 canteens, including Nescafe and Amul, all serving hygienic and tasty food. Sports facilities are decent, and there’s an MI room on campus. Labs are equipped with Wi-Fi.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable, offering great support to students. The curriculum is relevant and opens up numerous career opportunities. Graduates are industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult, with a pass percentage of 80%.

I absolutely dissatisfied with the placements as they do not pay you well.
Placements: The placements were done on the basis of interviews. Different firms and senior advocates visit our college, but the salary is very low, about 10–15k per month. The working hours are usually 10 to 7 p.m. The top recruiting companies are Maheshwari firms. Almost 70 percent got internships, but most of them are unpaid.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The rooms are spacious and fully air-conditioned. There is a separate gate on campus in the green belt area to quickly reach the MAIMS building. There is a separate library for law on the 6th floor. There is one main canteen and 3–4 eating spots on the campus. The boys hostel is on the campus, and the girls hostel is a few meters outside the college.
Faculty: Almost all the teachers have doctorate degrees in their respective subjects. They are UGC NET-qualified. Notes are also provided, and we can always go to the staff room and ask for clarifications. Each semester has 600 marks. 100 for each subject and 100 for viva. 25 marks are in the hands of the college. They take an internal examination and assignment for an evaluation of 25 marks. 75 marks are for an external examination.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be a judge. The best thing is that this field is ever-growing, and every case in court is a new learning experience. This is a very respectable profession. I want this course to be of shorter duration; as of now, it's a five-year course.

Placement is good here. Faculty is supportive.
Placements: Placement here depends on your honesty. If you have the right skill set, you can easily secure a good placement. The faculty provides a lot of guidance about placements and internships, and the placement cell is very active. There is enough experienced staff available to assist us.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with proper classrooms, but the washrooms could be cleaner. Medical facilities are sufficient, and the canteen is adequate to satisfy hunger. The Wi-Fi is reliable for downloading content, surfing, and other work.
Faculty: The faculty is supportive and provides proper guidance for career paths and managing ourselves in college, including for internal assessments and semester exams. They are approachable and willing to help with personal problems as much as they can. We can ask doubts as many times as needed.

Worth to take admission and study here.
Placements: Yet only two batches have been passed out, but the placement is quite good. The highest package is around 10 lakh per annum, and the lowest package is 2 lakh per annum. Internship is compulsory in 5th year and before too (optional), which gives experience in practical terms of applying all the lawns and learning so many things.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is among the best in Indraprastha University, Delhi. The college has a library separate for different departments. There is no hostel for girls on the campus. In talking about sports and games, there is badminton court, basketball ground, and so on. In cases of emergency, medical services are also provided by the teachers.
Faculty: The teachers of the law department are highly qualified and experienced. They are all so supportive and teach in a unique way to make students understand better. There are societies to take part in the college for extracurricular activities. Semester exams for the law department were not so tough; students can score good marks easily.
Other: The course is of atmost importance. It opens so many opportunities in the future. The college organizes events and fests on the college campus, which are so fun. The crowd of the college is too good, and with interactive skills, there are several ways to improve connectivity in the field of law.

Decent Campus with Good Sports Facilities.
Placements: My college's on-campus placements are pretty decent; almost 35 percent of the previous batch students got placed. The average package lies between 4 Lacs and 6 Lacs. For internships, most students get opportunities, but most internships are unpaid.
Infrastructure: Our campus size is about 10 acres, with sports facilities like a basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, and an indoor badminton court. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with smart technology. Our library is also well-equipped with various books; overall, the infrastructure is decent.
Faculty: The curriculum taught at our college is a bit outdated and needs to be reviewed. The faculty is experienced, and many teachers hold a Ph.D. degree in their respective fields. The end-semester exams are very difficult, and you need to study regularly to achieve good marks and maintain a good CGPA.
