Is MCKV Institute of Engineering good for B.E./B.Tech?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what can be said:

Infrastructure and Facilities

* The college has a well-modernized infrastructure with free Wi-Fi, clean and tidy labs, big classrooms with projectors, and a huge library with plenty of books.
* Hostels are available for both boys and girls, but some students found them to be average.
* The college has a basketball court, gym, and medical support services.

Teaching and Faculty

* The faculty members are highly educated and knowledgeable.
* Teachers are helpful and provide quality education, with some students even having one-on-one interactions with them.
* The college has a system of written assessments and assignments before semester exams.

Placement and Internship

* Almost 90-95% of students get placements on campus, with top companies like TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, and Amazon participating in the recruitment process.
* The average package ranges from 3-6 Lacs per annum, with some students receiving higher packages up to 17.5 Lacs per year.
* Many students also get internship opportunities through the placement cell.

Student Life and Events

* The college hosts several seminars, workshops, and events, including the annual festival "Utopia".
* Clubs and societies organize various activities and fests throughout the year.

MCKV Institute of Engineering offers students the highest quality of education and gives them access to the most modern academic resources. However, the institute understands that for all-round development, students need to engage themselves in various extracurricular activities.  Thus, the college provides them with various avenues to nurture their non-academic talents.

MCKV Institute of Engineering offers decent placements for its BTech and MBA courses every year. In 2023, the students are placed various sectors viz., Engineering, Marketing, Finance and HR, etc. The median package offered during MCKV Institute of Engineering placement 2023 stood at INR 3.08 LPA- INR 4.01 LPA so far. This package was offered to the student of the BTech CSE branch.

MCKV offers a four-year AICTE- approved BTech course with popular specialisations such as CSE, Automobile, Mechanical Engineering, etc. Apart from imparting theoretical knowledge, the institute provides practical field-related practical knowledge in collaboration with companies such as LOGICZAP, BOSCH, EICHER, etc. Also, as per the placement data of MCKVIE, a total of 93% of placements were witnessed during the 2022 placement drive for BTech (CSE) course. MCKV Institute of Engineering is an UGC recognised Autonomous Institute, accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A' and approved by AICTE. It is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal and offers NBA accredited programmes. MCKV Kolkata, through eight departments, offers various UG and PG courses to students across the Management, Engineering, and other streams. The courses offered in BTEch, MTech, and MBA.

Placement Cell Effectiveness

* According to several students and alumni, the placement cell at MCKV Institute of Engineering is considered effective in securing placements for its students.
* Many students reported getting placed in reputed companies such as Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, Bosch, and TCS among others.
* One student mentioned that almost 90% of students from their batch were placed, with the highest salary package offered being INR30,000 per month and the lowest being INR7,000.
* Another student noted that the college arranges pool campus recruitments and startup recruitment drives, making it easier for students to find employment.
* Several students appreciated the efforts of the Training and Placement (TP) cell in assisting students with internship programs and preparing them for job interviews.

However, some limitations were also reported:

* Limited internship opportunities were mentioned by a few students.
* One student expressed concern about the lack of industry exposure during the course.

Overall, while there may be areas for improvement, the placement cell appears to be effective in providing job opportunities to its students.

For admission to BVoc at MCKVIE, the minimum eligibility criteria is to either pass Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board or After 10 Diploma of 3 years or After 10 ITI of minimum of 2 years. Admission to this course is merit-based. Students are selected based on their performance in the previous qualifying exam.
