A bit dissatisfied with the mess food and benches provided.
Placements: Our class had about 60 students, of whom most dropped out due to the difficulty of this course. The course offered a salary ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 2 lacs per month for freshmen, and then it rose as per their abilities. Passed-out students have secured job opportunities at Cipla, Life Pharma, Apollo Pharmacy, Mylan laboratories and so on. About 80 percent of the students do secure internships in good companies like Dr. Reddy Laboratories, etc. One can become a drug analyst, work in R&D, or have canvassing jobs.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are pretty decent, with good provisions for lighting and seating arrangements. Wi-Fi for computer labs and libraries is provided. The library has numerous easy-to-understand and internationally accepted reference books. A separate reference section is allotted for pharmacopeias, monographs, etc. The hostel facility is provided for girls and is pretty average, with around 3 to 4 students in one room. Clean washrooms are available, although one may experience a shortage in dry weather. The mess food is just below average.
Faculty: The teaching faculty are average and some sincerely work to provide us with the needed knowledge, although for the most part, one has to stand on their own. The exams are difficult but if one understands the concept, it is easy to pass. Our batch had about a 90-pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in chemistry. B.Pharma is just a whole lot of chemistry and information on various drugs. It would be better if a bachelor's degree was given a bit more importance than a diploma in the pharmacy field. The students entering via merit through competitive exams required are given scholarships. Events and programs are conducted on festivals like Onam and Christmas, along with events like freshers day, graduation day etc.
