Is B.Sc at Narasinha Dutt College a good choice?

Overall, Narasinha Dutt College's B.Sc programme receives positive feedback from students and alumni. Here are some key points:

    * Teaching Quality: Professors are described as "very helpful", "frank and friendly", and "well-qualified" with many having PhD degrees. They are dedicated to mentoring students and providing guidance throughout the course.

    * Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructural facilities, including modern laboratories, libraries, and classrooms with Wi-Fi connectivity. However, there is no hostel accommodation available.

    * Career Opportunities: The course provides a wide range of career options, with students opting for higher education, research, or employment in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology.

    * Placements: Placements are available, although not extensive. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, and Mahindra, among others. Salaries range from INR18,000 to INR4 LPA.

    * Scholarship: A scholarship examination is conducted within the college, offering opportunities for deserving students.

    * Campus Life: The college has a vibrant campus life, with regular cultural events, seminars, and workshops.

    However, some limitations are noted:

    * Limited Industrial Exposure: Since it's a traditional course, industrial exposure is limited, making it challenging for students to secure direct placements.

    * Low Placement Percentage: Only around 2-4% of students are placed annually.

    * No Campus Placements: Unlike other institutions, Narasinha Dutt College does not conduct campus placements.

In conclusion, while Narasinha Dutt College's B.Sc programme has its strengths, it may not be ideal for those seeking guaranteed placements or hands-on industrial experience. Nevertheless, the college's strong academic reputation, supportive faculty, and diverse career prospects make it a viable option for students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree.

It's a good college to make friends, make your life better, and make yourself a better person.
Placements: The salary offered is about Rs. 18000 per month. Most students got internships from Internshala. Our course offers top roles in fields like forensic science, archaeology, anthropology, dermatology, etc. Students get jobs in these fields.
Infrastructure: The college has great Wi-Fi. It has a huge library consisting of a large number of useful books. It has a wonderful canteen and playground with common rooms for students. We have a football and a basketball team in our college, which go to various tournaments and come home with trophies.
Faculty: Teachers are great. The course curriculum makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams are quite good, and the pass percentage is 90%. Teachers teach us with passion. They helped us enough to qualify for the exams with a great percentage of marks.
Other: The course is about human life. It tells us about who we are, what we were, and what we will be in the future. While taking the course, I feel like I'm learning about society, ancient societies, and civilizations. It also makes me humble when interacting with others.

Overall, it is a good college in a broad area for study. The surroundings are so dusty.
Placements: Only 2-4% of students got placed in our course, but the percentage varies for the honors students. The highest salary package offered ranges from 4-5 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 2-3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges from 1-1.5 LPA. Companies do not visit our college to recruit students, and you have to find it on your own. Career counseling is organised sometimes by the college. Almost 60% got an internship depending upon the ability of the students. Many roles like call support executive, data entry operator, sales and marketing, etc., are offered to the students.
Infrastructure: There are many Wi-Fi networks in the college but not for the students. You can use the library Wi-Fi after contacting seniors. The library is good, but it needs some more space to sit for the students. There are various books available in the library. Most of the classrooms are huge, airy, and clean.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful here. They have very great knowledge according to their subjects. The teaching quality of all the teachers is good and familiar too. After completing the course, you need to do an internship to become industry-ready. There were no semester exams at that time, but after I pass-out, it started. Exams are good. The pass percentage is 85%.
Other: I have chosen the B.Sc (General) with computer science. Computer subject was the best thing in our course, and I have chosen this course only because of the computer. Some computers are not working properly at that time which should be fixed, and some are old, which should be upgraded. Our college organises a freshers party, events on many special occasions, seminars, etc.

Absolutely good in terms of academic curriculums, above average faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements are not really lucrative since a B.Sc. degree, and most students go for higher education before they opt for any job. And also, since it's a traditional course and not a technical one, it's very unheard of for big companies to come here for placements, so more or less it depends on how much a student is willing to pursue higher studies.
Infrastructure: As far as I know, there is no hostel or mess available since it's a government college and not really a top-tier one. Situated in a location where not many students come here to study, if at all they require any kind of hostel or mess stay. And about the facilities and infrastructure, it's quite alright, depending upon the state of affairs nowadays, and we are able to go by without much hassle.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and cooperative; they are available for us students to go to for any doubts that we might be experiencing regarding our studies or anything. The course curriculum is certainly up to par, and it follows the current syllabus for Calcutta University perfectly. The semester exams standards are quite average as well, not hard, not easy.

Our college has good faculty members but doesn't have campus placements.
Placements: It is a very good college but there are no campus placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is not very big but the chemistry department is very good. Semester fee charges are very low. We also have a canteen. But the path to college is very bad. There is no hostel and I think there is no need for a hostel because most of the students come from a travelable distance and the college is well connected with trains and bus services. The college is located on the roadside so you can come to the college easily.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very good. This college stands on number 2 in Asia, in terms of subject numbers.
Other: There is a scholarship exam held in the college.

This college is nearby to our house and it is a very good college.
Placements: Around 20% of students are placed in our course. The highest salary offered in our course is Rs 5000, and the lowest salary offered in our course is Rs 2000. There are many recruiting companies for our course. Many students get internships from our course, and from many chemical companies. The top roles offered in our course are physical, chemistry organic, chemistry, and inorganic chemistry.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college plays a vital role in the development of the college, as the students are now focusing on the laboratories, classrooms, etc., while selecting a college. The software should support the academic work of the students along with bringing out their extracurricular activities. The quality is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach students very carefully and responsibly. All the teachers take care of students, and they are always ready to help. It makes the student industry-ready. This course is curriculum relevant, and the semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 50%.

Good infrastructure and facilities and good passout rate each year.
Placements: Software developer, full-stack developer, web developer, UI/UX designer, data analyst, database management specialist, graphic designer and 3D designer. L, Python programmer, etc. are the roles offered. The top recruiting companies included TCS, INFOSYS, Cognizant, Mahindra, WIPRO, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi labs but most components are old; renovation started recently during my passout; classroom with projector and air conditioning included. The canteen is in the middle of the college campus and has decent food. The library is well stocked and nice. Overall, no complaints.
Faculty: Our professor prepared us well for the semester exam. But when other students got their seats allocated from other colleges in our college, they said guarding was hard. It is also very strict during a normal internal exam. Also, students need a mandatory 75% attendance rate to qualify for the semester exam.
Other: The computer science department is excellent and our college hosts frequent cultural programs and freshers ceremonies.
