    Q:   Is National College of Arts and Science good for BCA?

    A:
    {Source: BCA students & alumni}

    Here's what students and alumni have to say:

    Pros:

    * Well-qualified and experienced faculty members (most reviews)
    * Job-oriented curriculum (many reviews)
    * Decent computer lab facilities (some reviews)
    * Limited sports and game options (badminton, cricket, etc.) (multiple reviews)

    Cons:

    * Lack of placement cell or training division (almost all reviews)
    * No hostel facilities for students (most reviews)
    * Small library with limited book collection (some reviews)
    * Connectivity issues due to location (several reviews)
    * Limited canteen capacity and crowded during meal times (a few reviews)
    * Not all students find jobs immediately; some opt for higher studies (multiple reviews)
    * Some students reported difficulty in finding suitable internships (one review)

    Overall, while National College of Arts and Science has its strengths, particularly in terms of faculty and curriculum, it seems to lack certain essential amenities and infrastructure. Additionally, the absence of a placement cell may hinder students' chances of securing immediate employment. Despite these drawbacks, some students have still managed to find jobs and appreciate the institution's focus on rural education.

    One of the best colleges I pursued.
    Placements: Our college doesn't provide any kind of placement opportunities from their side. Students are required to hunt for the job on their own. No dedicated placement cell is present there. No companies have approached yet in my knowledge. Some of my classmates, including me, went for a paid internship after the degree course. Some of the students were placed as software developers in some private companies with a stipend of 10 to 15 thousand rupees per month. The companies are Elon Software Services, Acadia Health Services, etc. Top roles offered include software engineer, software developer, etc.
    Infrastructure: We have good classrooms. Wi-Fi facilities are limited to laboratories and the library. The library is small but has a decent amount of relevant books for our discipline. The college doesn't have hostel facilities. A limited number of outside students are present, and they depend on outside PG for accommodation. Various sports games like cricket, chess, badminton, etc., are encouraged there. The canteen is not enough to carry the needs of students as it is small in size and always crowded.
    Faculty: Teachers are the assets of this college. Many highly qualified professors are present there. They teach students in the way they like. They are friendly as well as advanced. The course and curriculum are determined by the University of Calicut. It is relevant and has the capacity to make the students ready for the industry. Exams are sometimes difficult and sometimes easy. The minimum pass percentage is 40.
    Other: I chose this course to become a software developer. I suggest my college provide better internship and placement opportunities to the students. Various events often take place in the college regarding cultural and academic activities. No scholarship schemes are available to the students. Various extracurricular activities take place here, like workshops and seminars.

    Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Batch of 2024

    3Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
    An average college for those who are seeking Bachelors in computer application.
    Placements: College does not have a developed placements cell. The college is mainly focused on providing education to the rural areas. However, the students usually find jobs for themselves after the college. As per the college reports, 40% students passed out in the previous 3 years are currently working. 90% students from BCA pass outs are currently working in companies. The highest salary is said to be 40000 per month with an average cumulative salary package of 15000. Top recruiting companies includes Arino, Unitech, Ampire, Prototype, etc. Top roles offered to the students includes software developer, AI trainer, Computer engineer, etc.
    Infrastructure: 24 systems with a Wi-Fi facility are available in our lab. Library is small but it contains most relevant books and journals required for our study. College canteen is small but it does provide quality food at a reasonable price. Mostly, the students depend on outside food. No medical facilities are provided inside the college campus. Various sports and games like kabadi, cricket, badminton and football are encouraged here.
    Faculty: One of the best aspects of the college is its faculty. They are very responsible and highly qualified teachers. Course curriculum and the syllabus is relevant and is capable to make the students ready for the industry. Exams are conducted in each semester with a minimum passing percentage of 50%.
    Other: I chose this course because of my interest towards technology and IT. Our course is much interesting and relevant in the modern era. I would like to suggest my college to improve the lab and library facilities. Various events and programs are conducted in the college each year which includes both academics as well as cultural events. I would like to mention that the college has connectivity problems as it is situated in a hilly area. They provide college bus for transportation. No particular scholarships are available to the students.

    A college which supports rural education.
    Placements: The college does not have a placement cell. The college doesn't provide any kind of placement opportunity. Students are required to find the jobs themselves. Most of the students from our batch went for higher studies. The minimum salary is 10,000. The average salary is 15,000 per month. Some of the companies which recruited our students include IT Solutions Calicut, BIT industries Ltd., etc. The top roles offered include software development, computer engineering, etc.
    Infrastructure: The college does not provide hostel facilities for boys or girls. The college provides an average classroom setup. It also provides a decent computer lab facility. The library is vast and it contains many books related to our syllabus and industry. No medical facilities are offered by the college. The mess and canteen are limited, with few facilities. It can hardly include 50 students at a time. Various games, such as cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, etc., are encouraged here.
    Faculty: The teachers are good and their way of teaching is good. They are clearly following the rules of college in every aspect. The teaching is done in a convenient way and they are able to convey the messages clearly to the students. However, they are not taking classes fully in English. The curriculum is not very hard and it is job-oriented. Semester exams are much harder, and almost all students are getting pass marks.
    Other: I chose this course because I was keenly interested in computer programming. I hardly suggest college management provide better lab facilities and placement opportunities. Various events, such as cultural and academic ones, are held here each year.

    A college with a nice experience.
    Placements: The college does not have a placement or well-defined training cell. They are just focusing on the course. They do not offer any kind of placement assistance to the students. However, our department has permitted the students to do an internship or project in the last year, either from the college itself or from outside companies. Most of batchmates found jobs as software engineers, full-stack developers, and computer engineers in several companies like Infosys, Promtech, Digisolutions, etc. In our batch, most of the students got internships after completing the course from vivid companies and some of them got permanent jobs as well. The top salary was INR 20,000, and the average trend is to be INR 10,000 per month.
    Infrastructure: There is no college hostel facility available there. There are only residential students learning. Our college have good classrooms, well-furnished computer labs, etc. Computer lab rooms have Wi-Fi facilities. The library is small but has many relevant books that helped us a lot in our studies. The college canteen is a small, adequate space for students. It serves a limited amount of food. Most students depend on restaurants outside the college. Various sports and games are encouraged there, mainly cricket and football.
    Faculty: Faculty members are the biggest asset of this college. We had well-qualified and experienced teachers. They supported us in all ways during the entire duration of our course. Our curriculum and syllabus were decent and they focused on the industrial aspect of our study. Exams were conducted each semester. The minimum pass percentage was 40.
    Other: I was interested in its professions, so I selected BCA. I gained practical knowledge of different aspects of software development and programming. Various events were conducted during our course duration, which included onam, eid, college Day, etc. There is a serious connectivity issue due to the inadequate public transport system at the college. The college is providing bus service for those in need. Campus life was an unforgettable memory. The surroundings were filled with shrubs and small trees. Various scholarship schemes were available for the students, like postgraduate scholarships from the central government. Various seminars and webinars were conducted regularly during this time.
