Great placement opportunities, good atmosphere .
Placements: This year, 82 seniors out of 140 students were placed in many companies through campus interviews. Alstom, Mega Power, L&T, TCS, Wipro, etc., are the major companies recruiting from our department, EEE. Around 3 Lacs per annum is the average salary package, which changes depending on the company.
Infrastructure: Every department gets its own laboratory facilities, department library, and a common central library. Laboratories were equipped and well-maintained. The only drawback is that some lab roofs are made of metal sheets, so in summer, it is very difficult to work there. The temperature rises up to 45 degrees in Palakkad during summer. The college has a common canteen, ladies and men's hostels, and separate hostels for freshers and seniors. The food and accommodation are decent.
Faculty: Teachers and other staff are mostly friendly and try to finish the portion on time. Yes, they make efforts for us. During a semester, the internal marks are calculated based on our performance in internal tests, attendance, tutorials, and assignments. Internal marks are calculated out of 50 marks.
Other: Dyuksha and Noopuram are the main technical and arts events conducted on the campus once every 2 years. Other celebrations like Onam, Christmas, and Kerala Piravi are celebrated on a small scale in the campus auditorium.

About my undergraduate college .
Placements: For my course, there is no placement option as it is a higher education course. They don't provide internships also; if we want to do one, we can separately go and do it. There are conferences and other programs happening in my department for exposure and for paper presentations.
Infrastructure: On my campus, Wi-Fi is available, but students can't access it because phones are not allowed there. Classrooms have smartboards for doing presentations and all. There is a spacious library with a huge collection of books, and one is under construction.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with NET, and some have doctoral degrees also. Teachers are very helpful and supportive. As the college is affiliated with Calicut University, exams are based on the Calicut University timetable. The pass percentage for each exam is 35%. If students are preparing neatly for the exams, it might be simple to pass.
Other: My course is very relevant. Psychology is an emerging field and is really needed for society. Fests and events are very good there. They give equal importance to studies and extracurricular activities. They support hidden talents.

Review of Sree Narayana Guru College of Advanced Studies, Nattika.
Placements: We have about 40 students who opted for BCA. The course is actually 3 years, so you have to pay around 1 LPA for 3 years. You can work in many top companies if you have excellent skills after learning this course. You can work as a software developer, SaaS developer, etc. after this course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is too slow. Classrooms and libraries are good, but the canteen is very small; it doesn't even fit 20 students. The quality of the food is also not that great. Sports and games are all good. The labs where you work on practicals are good; they have AC, and all the computers are the latest and fast.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are well qualified and great. They are not only teachers but also supportive mentors who help you a lot. The semesters are not too difficult; every student can pass if they study. There were many students in my class who were a little behind in studies, but the teachers helped them get good marks, and they did pass the exams.
Other: I chose this course because I love working with computers and I enjoy coding. The best thing is that students can get jobs easily as the IT field, like BCA, is the best choice to secure a promising job. The campus should improve its way of teaching, like building smart boards in specific classrooms so that students can easily grasp what they are being taught. Events, fests, and other extracurricular activities are great on this campus, and every student will love them once they experience it.

Review about the Government College Kalpetta.
Placements: There are about 63 students in my class. The college doesn't give you any placement options. If you want a job, you need to search. There are no recruiting companies for my course. The college doesn't provide internships. The college doesn't provide any roles in my course.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't support sports other than fencing. If you are a talented sports person, I will never recommend this college. There is no Wi-Fi connection. The classrooms are good, and there is a computer lab, but only B.Sc. CS students are allowed to get inside. The hostel is only for 50 students.
Faculty: The faculty are qualified; most of them are assistant professors, and some have doctorates. However, the faculty are very rude towards students. The semester exams are conducted by the University of Calicut, so the exams are a little bit tough. If you study, you can pass the exam.
Other: I was a commerce student, that's why I took this course. The college doesn't support arts. If we are talented, we must search for opportunities.

It is a good college. It is NAAC accredited with an A+ grade.
Placements: Placements were very poor and no good companies were hired from here. But, courses provided were good for the future and job seekers need to prove their skills and experience for career growth. Some private banks hire through interviews and job fairs were conducted.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure was good with nice library and good hostel facilities. Campus is green with scenic surroundings and calm atmosphere. Good sports grounds, a basketball court, and gyms were available. College was easily accessible and there was good atmosphere for studying.
Faculty: Faculty members were good and some were experienced. They were supportive and some held doctorates. Courses were semester-based and at the end of each semester we had examinations. Exams can be passed with minimal study. Departments were strict, but some teachers were liberal.

Q:   Is it worth pursuing MBA/PGDM at Calicut University?

A:
{Source: MBA/PGDM students & alumni}

Pursuing MBA/PGDM at Calicut University: Worth Considering?

Considering the mixed reviews from students and alumni, here's a balanced assessment:

* Placement Record: While some students mentioned poor placements (around 50-60%), others reported better outcomes (up to 90%). The median package offered is INR5 LPA, with top companies like TCS, Xylem, ICICI Bank, and Airtel participating in the recruitment process.
* Faculty and Curriculum: Students praised the faculty's knowledge and experience, but noted that some professors may not be effective communicators. The course curriculum covers essential topics, but lacks practical sessions and discussions.
* Infrastructure and Facilities: The university provides basic facilities like classrooms, computer labs, libraries, and hostels, although some reviewers felt that these could be improved.
* Internship Opportunities: Unfortunately, students mentioned that internships are not readily available through the college, requiring them to seek out opportunities independently.

Based on these factors, pursuing an MBA/PGDM at Calicut University might be suitable for students who:

* Are willing to explore internship opportunities outside the college
* Can adapt to varying teaching styles and classroom conditions
* Prioritize theoretical knowledge over practical applications
* Are prepared to face challenges in finding job placements

However, students seeking a stronger emphasis on practice-oriented education, extensive internship programs, or higher placement rates might want to consider alternative options. Ultimately, it's crucial to weigh individual priorities and assess the program's strengths and weaknesses before making an informed decision.
