Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering - Batch of 2020
4.8

The college has very good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 88% of the students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 8.5 LPA, the average salary package offered is 4.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruitment companies are Adani Power, Vedanta Power, Torrent Power, RE Power, Tata Power and many others. All placed students got an internship. The top role offered is an executive trainee.
Infrastructure: Our college offers post-graduation diploma course in Power Plant and renewable energy. In our college, there are lots of facilities like air-conditioned classrooms, air-conditioned mess, labs and the library. Quality of food is good. Menu of food can be changed according to students.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. The course is highly relevant, and I recommend this course to all. It makes students industry-ready. All the teachers are from Power Plants. It offers industrial visits to many power plants.
Other: I have chosen this course because my father recommended this to me. The best thing about this course is it provides basic and necessary knowledge about the course. Everything about this college is good in every manner. Time to time seminars and conferences are held in our college.

The college is very good and has a good learning environment.
Placements: The placement scenario in college is very good. I got placed in Vedanta Ltd. Our class has 54 students, out of which, 36 students got placed. Adani Power, GVK Power, Tata Power, etc., are the companies that visited for campus drives. Mahinder sir is our placement coordinator. We are pursuing thermal power training in this college.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure. A library is available for students, and there is also a gym for students to maintain their fitness. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Food is provided in the mess. There are computer labs, and a conference room is also available. There are good facilities in the classrooms, and medical facilities are also provided for students. Wi-Fi facility is available, and sports equipment is provided to girls and boys. There is no canteen inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative. NTPC faculty members are available to teach thermal power plant engineering. Around 5 to 6 faculty members are provided to teach thermal engineering, who are currently working in NTPC. Plant visits are also available for students. There is a very good learning environment in the college.

Absolutely dissatisfied with placements.
Placements: There are no placements. Since thermal power sector is going down, the placement in NPTI has also gone down very much. Most of the companies are on halt and coal block is also imprinting its mark on our placement. Almost half of the course is completed, and only three students got placed till now.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but not that much. Most of the classes are air-conditioned and well-maintained. The hostel is not good since most of the beds have bedbugs over it. They don't provide any coolers in the hostels. The playground is very bad. The library is very good because it contains all kinds of books for each department.
Faculty: The faculty are very good, and all the teachers have come from national thermal power corporation. Managers and deputy managers come to teach. They are very knowledgeable and highly qualified. The ratio of student-faculty is 50:1. The NPTI also organises so many thermal power station visits.
Other: No events and fests are organised in our college. The campus crowd is very low.

Review of NPTI, Faridabad.
Placements: The placements for the college are excellent. I was in the first batch and in my time approx. 80% students got placed. The faculty takes a lot of efforts for the placements. The package offered by the companies were also good as compared to other NPTIs. The college has earned a good reputation in the market also. Plus being the corporate office, it is beneficial for the students as more companies are likely to visit the campus.
Infrastructure: The college is very beautifully built. It was famous for MBA in power management and was started in the 90s. But even in 2015, it was nearly maintained by the management. The only problem is with the canteen. The food is not up to the mark in comparison to what they charge. There is a basketball court too in the campus. The gym is the best I have ever seen. Table tennis and badminton are also encouraged, both having their respective areas.
Faculty: The faculty in the college is more or less the same as that of Badarpur. All the faculty members are knowledgeable and they give their best in teaching every subject. However, the in-house faculty members who reside on the campus are not so good. They lack experience. But that hardly matters as most of the topics are covered by the NTPC guest lecturers. There are two trainings held in NTPC Badarpur and one visit to BHEL Haridwar.

Other: It is a good institute; you will learn a to z of power plant with professional people. Placement is 50%. But valuable course as power sector is booming. Simulator training is also provided. Frequent plant visit will make you understand all equipment’s of a power plant.
