    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BE/BTech Programs at New Horizon College of Engineering

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell:

    * Good Placements: The placement cell is effective in providing good placements to students. As mentioned by several students, companies like TCS, Accenture, Capgemini, Lowe's, Bosch, EXL, Cognizant, and many others offer on-campus placements.
    * High Salary Packages: The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA for the 2019 batch pass-out students, while the average salary package is around 10 LPA.
    * Fair Recruitment Process: The process of recruiting students for placements is fair, allowing students to participate in interviews and assessments.
    * Mandatory Internship Program: Although some students felt that the internship programme was not useful, the college has made internships mandatory for students.

However, some drawbacks mentioned by students include:

    * Limited Infrastructure: Some students pointed out that the infrastructure could be improved, particularly in terms of facilities for certain branches.
    * Placement Training and Development Costs: The college charges a significant amount for placement training and development services, which may be a drawback for some students.
    * No Internship Opportunities: Despite making internships mandatory, some students felt that there were limited opportunities available.

Overall, while the placement cell appears to be effective in providing good placements and salary packages, there is still room for improvement in terms of infrastructure and additional support services for students.

Perfect choice if students want to stay in Bangalore and study.
Placements: This college is located in the heart of the city surrounded by all IT hubs. It is a 25 years old college. Seniors have told me there is a nice placement drive offered. This college claims 100% placements and seniors also tell the same. It has connections with Japan also and many other abroad companies visit our college. Opportunities are there in this college.
Infrastructure: If we are staying in Bangalore then it is very easy for us to communicate daily to college. Hostel facilities are also amazing in this college. There is good variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian food options. Seniors are very supportive.
Faculty: NHCE only accepts KCET and management quota is there. Exams are also pretty good. Only teachers support us a lot for exams. It is easy to score a good GPA if we are regular to college.
Other: There are many events and fests in this college. Many big artists come here and perform which is just amazing. No ragging faced yet and I have finished 1st year till now.

It is a good college with a neat campus and great facilities. Placements are reduced.
Placements: Many students get placed. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the highest salary package offered ranges from 50-60 LPA in CSE, mechanical, and many other courses. Our college is overall good with nice amenities and very good education. It offers various courses.
Infrastructure: Courses are very useful. Our campus is well-equipped with modern labs and Wi-Fi access. Classrooms are neat and tidy with smart screens and Wi-Fi. The library is very useful with nice discussion rooms. It also has places to study along with a digital library. Classrooms, labs, and many things are digitalised with Wi-Fi access and smart screens. The campus has high security.
Faculty: Faculty members and course curriculum are very good. They encourage extra talents also. Exams are based on and modified as they conduct tests, one final exam, and lab internals.
Other: There are many clubs, and according to our interests, we can join and participate in any. The top clubs are drama club, stem club, fitness club, and robotics club.

NHCE mini tour of CSE student.
Placements: Here you can't expect such big offers, and the HRD department is a big scam. No placements. They charge for everything too. They ask for money to sit for drives. No problem if you can get placed outside, but don't believe in college placements even after taking Computer Science.
Infrastructure: Small campus but filled with a green atmosphere. You can chill out nicely in the canteen. NHCE is worse in small campuses. You have a wonderful day, and I don't know how to connect with unknown people, make friends with benefits, and you can get a chance to work with seniors and explore the college.
Faculty: Teachers are okay. They teach well, but all teachers are from Malayali backgrounds, and all are Mallu people. The teachers are much better than the previous years. The teaching level is better but not compared to other colleges' teachers. They have some good teachers who can help with everything.
Other: Best hangout place, best events are conducted in the college, and no extracurricular activities.

Deep Dive into New Horizons College of Engineering: Academics, Campus Life, and Much More.
Placements: So, our placements usually started in the 6th semester, and we had to pay an amount of 12000 INR as the placement training fee. Approximately 1000 students had SAT for the placements, and nearly 700 students were placed among them. In total, 100+ companies had been to our college for both technical and non-technical roles. The highest package is 28.5 LPA from the company Visa. The lowest package is 3.5 LPA, and the average package of our college is 4.5 LPA. Some of the companies that came to our college are Speridian Technologies, Epsilon, Zopsmart, Netradyne, Epicor, etc.
Infrastructure: We have a huge library in our college, and it has all the textbooks. Coming to the classroom, we have a smart board. The blackboard is only used for some explanation. The labs have Wi-Fi connections, and all the systems work very well. The classrooms are spacious, and nearly 80 students can accommodate in one room. Our campus also has an indoor gym, which is separate for both boys and girls. We also have an outdoor and indoor BB court, an indoor sports court for indoor games, and 2 dance studios for the dancers to practice before any special occasion.
Faculty: The teachers are educated and qualified but are not experienced. The English fluency isn't good. Some of the teachers mainly focus on the first benchers. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and it makes the students ready for the IT field. It makes them an independent person after their course, as they can select their respective jobs after engineering. The semester exams are pretty easy, mostly from the PDFs given by the teachers. The pass percentage is 40/100. Apart from that, we also have 3 internals every semester, including the mini project and assignments.
Other: I chose this course because the placement opportunities will be more for Computer Science and Information Science. The thing which I wanna improve is the teaching quality and experienced teachers. The teachers are well-educated, but their teaching quality isn't good. We have 2 main fests called Sargam, which is held in November or December, and Revolution, held in June or July. Along with that, we also celebrate Diwali night, Independence Day, Republic Day, and ethnic days. We also have various clubs that organize events for students to participate in. Our college also organizes Hackathons which help students to improve their skills.

Just like other colleges, there are much better options out there.
Placements: Around 2.5% of our CTC is taken by college as some sort of charge. Some say it's more like 25%, but I don't know yet. However, some seniors have already paid a small amount. College makes students do a lot of training, mock tests, and many more, so there's no lack of effort.
Infrastructure: Facilities are decent, such as Wi-Fi, which provides up to 1GB but never works. Benches are like school benches. Labs have old PCs, some have Windows 7, and others have Windows 11, with no consistency. There is no air conditioning. The library has books, but no one actually borrows them. If we want to use them, we are welcome to do so.
Faculty: Course curriculum is decent can't say much about it. We don't get proper notes most of the time so preparing for the easy course is also hard but we can manage with YouTube. Exams are held almost all the time I feel one exam isn't over and another starts CIE 1, 2, and 3. There are 2 lab exams for each lab and then both lab and written CIE exams.
Other: They ask to get activity points and they won't give you a degree unless you complete 100 points. It may sound too hard but we have to work 2 days for NGO and we can get a certificate for 20 points. No matter what problem we have, it can be solved with money at our college. For low attendance, students are forced to pay between 4,000 to 13,000.

Absolutely chaotic college in existence, with a lot of scams.
Placements: 70% of students were placed and that was too low package jobs. Companies have even made a remark saying this collage is producing mass candidates and nothing sparkful. Also, this college and Capgemini have dark collaborations. The worst part is they take a certain percent of your 1st year salary after being placed.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good even though our college is money-minded. If we give the money, you get good services, the mess food is decent, and you have many cafeterias to choose from. We have a decent WiFi connection for basic tasks. Everything is expensive; they will try to extract money wherever possible.
Faculty: Some parts of our course are very up today; we will have a have a few parts remain very old and if you are lucky, you will get a faculty member who is really experienced and when I teach, while at other times you get the worst teachers whose class you feel like bumping into and not attending and go home and learn yourself, there will be a lot of self-learning without which you won't be able to come up with the fast pace.
Other: I chose CSE core branch as they boosted themselves as the flagship of this college yet remain the same as other courses I felt now and I just wasted money.
