NHCE becomes the first institution in India to file 201 patents in a span of 3 years

July 5, 2024: NHCE filed ten more Patents on Nov 27, 2019 at Indian Patents Office. The college becomes the First Institution to Achieve the Rare Honour of Filing 201 Patents in 3 Years in INDIA and in the World. It is a historical achievement and a rare feat of an Engineering College. The credit also goes to the Chairman of the college for providing Creative Freedom & Innovative Ecosystem to students and faculty members of NHCE. The college has also established the NHCE Knowledge Park to facilitate various research initiatives.

NHCE Established Its Self-Funded Incubation Centre New Horizon Council for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NHCIIE)

March 19, 2024: The 'New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE)' is a renowned educational institution dedicated to making a difference in society not only by providing quality education, but also by assisting students and the entire ecosystem in creating more job creators than job seekers as part of the 'AtamaNirbharBharat Abhiyan' initiative. NHCE has established its self-funded incubation centre, "New Horizon Council for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NHCIIE), CIN: U88900KA2023NPL178028, Not-for-Profit Licence (NPL) Company under Section 8(1) of the Company Act, 2013, [Formerly, New Horizon Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NHCIIE)], as an incubator/pre-incubation facility. It has dedicated infrastructure facilities such as workspaces, an innovation lab, discussion rooms, an education cell, and an intellectual property cell. The Incubation Centre is updated with a built-up size of more than 3000 sq. ft. and a separate space for ED. 

They have space for technology incubation, work stations, and a boardroom. During the academic year 2022-23, we completed 38 MSME - Udyam registrations and 06 Private Limited Incorporations with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which is incubated by the NHCIIE. We partnered with reputable industries to co-create I&E activities and provide varied support to the NHCIIE. NHCIIE aspires to focus on and create a thriving ecosystem for innovation, as well as to give a unique platform for NHCE students, alumni, and faculty to pursue their academic objectives and cultivate independent thinking in order to attain their life goals. It accepts students' unique ideas, nurtures them, and gives them a positive direction, as well as hands-on mentoring to help them become actual innovators and successful entrepreneurs.

For the fiscal year 2022-2023, NHCE has committed 1% of its annual budget to various entrepreneurial activities. The primary goal is to instill entrepreneurship and push students to develop businesses to solve various grass-roots concerns through projects such as:

  • In-house intercollegiate events
  • Organise awareness seminars by entrepreneurs or alumni
  • Organising field exposure activities to foster innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Supporting entrepreneurial development activities at the state and national levels

The overarching objectives of the centre are:

  • To inculcate innovative mindset & entrepreneurial skills among student and alumni.
  • To create start-up ecosystem.
  • To catalyse start-up ecosystem by aiding related to enhancing knowledge, mentoring, legal, financial, technological, intellectual property related to cost-effective infrastructural support and value-added services.
  • To foster collaboration between student and faculties to assist research and creative designs.
  • To convert practice venture into real venture by focussing on market opportunity and customer needs.
  • To act as a launchpad to inspire students to develop innovative ideas under the umbrella of Centre of innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.

 

MoU between NHCE and Sansera Engineering

March 19, 2024: An MoU has been signed between NHCE and Sansera Engineering, a prominent player in the mechanical and automotive industries. The agreement aims to offer internships, projects, and industry visits to students studying Mechanical and Automobile Engineering at NHCE. Mr. Suresh, Associate Vice President of Sansera Engineering, visited NHCE to sign the MoU in the presence of the Principal, Deans, and Heads of Departments.

March 19, 2024: Today, an agreement was reached with Autoliv India Pvt Ltd to integrate industry expertise into the curriculum content and provide internships for students in the Mechanical and Automobile Department, enhancing their educational experience.

New Horizon College of Engineering Selects Komop Technology (Fitgraphy) for Incubation

March 19, 2024: It is with great pleasure to announce that New Horizon College of Engineering, through its Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship, has chosen KOMOP Technology Private Limited (FITGRAPHY) for incubation.

Selected from a pool of six startups that presented during the Startathon, an expert panel review held in December 2019, FITGRAPHY emerged as the standout candidate.

This marks the first external startup to be eligible for incubation at New Horizon College of Engineering, with the Incubation Agreement signing taking place on February 15, 2020.

New Horizon College of Engineering boasts a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, with approximately 104 student startups on campus and 15 startups already incubated within the Incubation Centre.

New Horizon College of Engineering Organises an Ethnic Day Celebration

July 17, 2023: An ethnic day event that was recently organised by New Horizon College of Engineering was absolutely breathtaking. The celebration was a riot of hues, diversity, and traditional garb that united people in a spirit of friendship and fraternity. It served as the ideal illustration of the college's dedication to promoting inclusivity and a sense of community among its students. As students from many ethnic backgrounds gathered to share their cultural heritage, the campus was ablaze with excitement. The traditional apparel on show included exquisite kurtas and dhotis as well as colourful sarees. The event's fashion show was an accurate representation of the college's social diversity. It provided students with a venue to display their native dress and gave everyone the chance to admire the beauty of many cultures.

The highlight of the day was the fashion show, as students strutted down the catwalk with confidence and pride in their culture. The event served as a potent illustration of the college's dedication to forging a welcoming and varied community. It gave the pupils a stage on which to appreciate their uniqueness and cultural heritage. In conclusion, the ethnic day celebration organized by New Horizon College of Engineering was a resounding success. Japan Career Centre is Established at NHCE to Facilitate International Placements/Internships

June 22, 2023: At NHCE, a Japan Career Centre has been established to support international placements and internships. The centre serves as a link between Indian universities' up-and-coming student potential and Japanese businesses. Additionally, it gets the hired staff ready for integration into the Japanese workplace. With Zenken Corporation, an MOU was struck regarding overseas placements. Japan Day was celebrated on 28/4/23. It was a cultural occasion to advance India-Japan ties. Zenken and New Horizon College of Engineering jointly organised the event. It aims to increase Indians' comprehension and awareness of Japanese culture as well as the friendship and cultural links that exist between the two nations. Participants were welcomed by a representative from the Bengaluru-based Japanese Consulate-General. Students participated in a variety of Japanese culture-related activities, including origami, calligraphy, Ikebana, and Kendama, to raise their understanding of the country's culture.

New Horizon College of Engineering Alumni Association in league with NHCE Extra-Curricular Clubs Organised an Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest 'Revelations' with the Theme "Fiesta Euforica"

June 22, 2023: On May 27, 2023, at the NHCE Campus, an Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest 'Revelations' with the theme "Fiesta Euforica" was organised by the New Horizon College of Engineering Alumni Association in collaboration with the NHCE Extra-Curricular Clubs. Hairstyling, Indian Classical Dance, Human Snake & Ladder, Roastmasters, Cooking without Fire, Charades, and Portrait Sketching were just a few of the cultural events that were part of the festival. Many colleges attended the festival in large numbers. At the fest, more than 4000 students took part, and more than 164 students registered for the various competitive activities. An invocation dance by the students and the lighting of the lamp by the principal, registrar, director of alumni relations, and members of the alumni committee marked the beginning of the event, which began at 10:00 AM. Ishan Sharma, a businessman, influencer, and co-founder of Markitup, was the event's special guest speaker. He provided insightful advice on businesses, freelancing, and careers.

All the events went on very well with a lot of excitement, thrill, and involvement. The students and faculty enjoyed the delicacies at the Food Mela. There was a DJ night and live music concert from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm and the students from different colleges danced to the tunes of the best Bollywood commercial DJs (White Summerland 23 – A Youth Music Festival)

Kiran Kumar breaks World Record and also wins 5 gold medals at the World Cup World Powerlifting Congress/Amateur World Powerlifting Congress

June 1, 2023: Horizonte and powerlifter Kiran Kumar Prakash Reddy won five gold medals for India at the World Cup WPC (World Powerlifting Congress) and AWPC (Amateur World Powerlifting Congress) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Russia. He also broke the world record for the raw junior bench press. Kiran Kumar, a student of New Horizon Educational Institutions, brought home 5 gold medals for India. In the same tournament, he had the chance to break the junior bench press raw world record by lifting 167.5 kg. The driven lifter participated in the tournament, which had more over 600 participants and was staged amongst 16 nations, including the United States of America, Denmark, Finland, and China. 

A New Horizonite Wins 3 Gold Medals?

June 1, 2023: It takes effort and perseverance to win three gold medals in a single national championship, which is a challenging feat.  At the Professional Raw Organization's (PRO) Push-Pull Championship, which was held from March 11–13, 2022, in Bengaluru, Kiran Kumar Reddy, a bachelor's degree candidate at New Horizon Educational Institutions, won three gold medals in powerlifting [Deadlift (260 Kg), Bench Press (180 Kg) World Record, and Push-Pull records (440 Kg)]. Young man Kiran Kumar Reddy, who comes from a lowly family, worked hard and was successful. He turned pro when he was 18 years old. It is admirable that he also won five gold medals and broke the powerlifting world record at a world cup in Russia that year. He became an International Athlete as a result, at a relatively young age. He said, "There wasn't enough money to compete," but Dr. Mohan Manghnani, Chairman of New Horizon Educational Institutions, later supported him and assisted him in succeeding. Additionally, he has provided him with a free master's programme at his university.

New Horizon Signs MoU with Tech Giant IBM

June 1, 2023: A new milestone has been reached by New Horizon College with the signing of an MOU with American IT giant IBM. The recently inked MOU is evidence of New Horizon's dedication to providing each student in its care with unwavering instruction. In addition to closely integrating New Horizons capability, this collaborative programme will bring substantial curriculum resources and unrestricted access to top-of-the-line IBM software, hardware, and practical experience with industrial strength tools. This will increase opportunities for students, faculty members, and research scholars to advance their skills. The certificate programme, which is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at all schools covered by New Horizon, will greatly improve students' employment prospects once they have successfully completed it. 

New Horizon Hosts Sargam 2022: The Rudra Factor

December 20, 2022: With the title "The Rudra Factor"—"the mesmerising vitality and majestic power"—New Horizon Educational Institution's much anticipated state-level cultural festival SARGAM 2022 returned after a two-year hiatus. The event, which was held on November 25 and 26, 2022, at the site of New Horizon College of Engineering, attracted close to 15,000 students from 180 schools, including PUC and degree colleges.

The Mega Event with the theme "TANDAV," which featured incredibly energising and potent dance performances from numerous institutions, was Sargam 2022's main draw. The cosmic dance of Lord Shiva, Tandav, portrayed the cycle of creation and destruction in the cosmos. The lavish costumes and props increased the dances' ferocity.

The mega event TANDAV was won by New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, which received a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000. New Horizon College of Engineering took second place and received a prize of Rs. 50,000, and Christ College Bannerghatta and New Horizon College, Marathalli tied for third place with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each.

All festival goers were welcome to join free workshops that were both entertaining and educational thanks to Sargam 22! The alumnus  Budhil Vyas, a Data Science engineer, Expert in Crypto, and Rabindra Sah, Chief Engineer at Tata Technologies, presented the session on cryptocurrency. The session taught by Karthik, a master of salsa, and Zuboo, a master of the shuffle.

All of the students from different universities were given the chance to demonstrate their enthusiasm for dancing through Juke Box. On November 25, 2022, DJ Vipul Khurana delighted the gathering.

The month-long planning and preparation building up to the Mega State Level Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest "Sargam2022" came to a glorious conclusion on the evening of November 26, 2022. All the excitement, thrill, high-spirited energy, and enthusiasm had defined the planning and preparation. The King of BangaloreCollege Events, this flawlessly performed spectacular was meticulously planned. This concert was completely "by the students, for the students, and of the students," which made it exceptional and unmatched. More than 15000 people attended this event from 180 institutions across Karnataka.

NHCE Celebrates Revelations Event -2022

June 22, 2022: Revelations 2022 was a celebration that united the entire university in joy.

Students took part in activities showcasing their talents and fostering community, like tug of war, photography, Indian fusion music, fashion shows, and more! This year, Revelations concluded with an electrifying concert that sent everyone's feet into a fit of dancing. A party marked the start and finish of the festival. We simply want to host more events like this, which energise the crowd and spread joy and healthy competition!

NHCE Inks MoU With Aiquantum Smart Solutions Private Limited

June 20, 2022: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by NHCE and "Aiquantum Smart Solutions Private Limited" and National Institute of Technology, Surathkal on June 20, 2022 at 3:45 PM in order to open the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center (AIIC) on the campus. This is in addition to numerous national and international business partnerships and the creation of numerous centres of excellence. It helps students and academic staff stay up to date on new technological developments.

Undergraduate students can enrol in training programmes in cutting-edge technologies like AI, ML, IoT, 5G communication, and data sciences as well as research internships through the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center (AIIC). To raise the standard of research publications and supported R&D initiatives, the faculty members will get continuing mentoring and support. By exposing students to modern technologies and involving them in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, this collaboration is expected to improve educational standards.

NHCE Hosts First Alumni Entrepreneurs Meet

March 26, 2022: The first Alumni Entrepreneurs Meet was conducted by the New Horizon College of Engineering Alumni Association on March 26, 2022, on the NHCE campus. The event's main objectives were to foster venture formation, innovation, mentorship, and social change. The purpose of this gathering was to provide a forum for entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and alumni to talk about potential investments, initiatives, and business ideas. Speakers from the business community, entrepreneurs, and well-known academics have expressed their thoughts and motivated others with comparable objectives.

The Committee members greeted the honoured guests Pavan Sharma, Chartered Accountant - BCL India, Founder of Complii Systems Pvt Ltd, Anantha Krishna, Sr. Manager, Wipro Technologies, and Ganesan from Bosch.

A brief video about UDAAN was shown; UDAAN is a mega-entrepreneurship event that serves as one of our campus's largest launch pads for startups, encouraging creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It also shows support for the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, the campaign for an independent India.

The presenters spoke to the audience on entrepreneurship and risk management, and then alumni entrepreneurs presented their businesses.

Inauguration of Capgemini Engineering Industry 4.0 Lab

February 28, 2022: The Capgemini Engineering Industry 4.0 Lab will officially open at New Horizon College of Engineering on February 28, 2022. This will make it easier for engineering students in all fields to receive training in Industry 4.0 technologies. Capgemini will employ all of the trained students.

College Signs Incubation Agreement with KOMOP Technology Private Limited

February 15, 2020:  The New Horizon College of Engineering - NHCE has chosen KOMOP Technology Private Limited (FITGRAPHY), a startup for incubation, in its Centre of Excellence for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship. Six startup teams participated in Startathon held in December last year and presented their business idea to the expert panel. KOMOP was shortlisted among those six startups. This is the first external startup to qualify at the New Horizon College of Engineering. On February 15, the Incubation Agreement was concluded. Currently, there are around 104 student startups at the campus and 15 startups have been incubated at the Incubation Centre.

Department of Management Studies Organises World Entrepreneurship Summit

February 10, 2020: With the remarkable quote of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “The power to think differently and ahead of time for the betterment of mankind is what sets entrepreneurs apart”, the New Horizon College of Engineering - NHCE has held its second consecutive World Entrepreneurship Summit in association with Global Entrepreneurs Grid (GEG), which took place on February 8, 2020. The theme of the summit, "Smart Green Startups & Sustainable Development", showed how to reduce negative impacts on the international environment and local conditions. Eminent speakers and leaders were present at the summit such as Carl Broadbridge, Mohan Kumar, Rahul Sachdeva Dhananjaya Prakhe, Dr Debmitta Dutta, Professor Bholanath.

NHCE Hosts International Conference on Innovative Research in Engineering, Management & Sciences

December 22, 2019: A conference on Innovative Research in the Engineering, Management & Sciences, ICIREMS–2019 was oganised at New Horizon College of Engineering from December 19-21. VTU Belagavi Chairman Dr A S Deshpande inaugurated the conference. Five international and six national keynote talks were delivered on various domains of Engineering, Management and Sciences. A group of leading industry professionals and researchers set up two panel talks. Over 250 papers were presented amongst which all approved and registered will be published in International Journal of Scientific Research in Computer Science, Engineering & Information Technology and the best out of them will be published in Scopus Indexed Journal.

Good faculty members, facilities and environment .

Placements: The highest package for our seniors were 32.2 LPA from VISA. The average package was around 12-15LPA. And the lowest package was 3-6.5LPA. Above 90 percent of students from 1600 students in our college were placed. The top roles offered are data analyst etc.

It is an average 2-tier college, and students can join this college.

Placements: The placement cell is working very hard. Our college has a placement rate of 80-85% and others go ahead for M.Tech courses. All of them get internships in the college. Top recruiting companies are TCS, SAP, and Benz. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA which is decent. The lowest salary package offered by TCS is around 2 LPA - 3 LPA.

Absolutely chaotic college in existence, with a lot of scams.

Placements: 70% of students were placed and that was too low package jobs. Companies have even made a remark saying this collage is producing mass candidates and nothing sparkful. Also, this college and Capgemini have dark collaborations. The worst part is they take a certain percent of your 1st year salary after being placed.

New Horizon College is a beautiful and a peaceful college in the city.

Placements: Our college has 100% placement, but the average salary is only 4 to 6 lakhs per annum. Only a few students get more than 20 lakhs per annum. The highest salary offered was 34 lakhs per annum, and this year we are aiming for 80 lakhs per annum. The top companies do visit our college.

Awesome college with great atmosphere.

Placements: As the college is situated in the IT corridors and has many IT giants coming in for campus recruitment, the main companies like Cognizant and Infosys come to the college by the 6th semester to give you a placement for CS, IS, CE, and other departments respectively.

Great Faculty and Family like Institute.

Placements: In our course, 78% of students were successfully placed, making Our New Horizons the top performer. The highest package offered stands at 22 lacs, while the lowest package offered is 12 lacs. Notable recruiting companies include Wipro, IBM, Infosys, and Accenture. Additionally, 52% of students secured internships during their time with us.
