National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Ajmer is a unit of NIELIT institutions established by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. The centre is dedicated to creating skilled manpower in the area of Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. It is equipped with the infrastructure to facilitate and promote e-learning and provide consultancy services throughout the state, especially in the field of office automation. Currently, the centre offers nearly 10 short-term as well as long-term courses to impart IT training to the aspirants. NIELIT Ajmer offers certificate, diploma and e-learning programmes. The admission process for these programmes is mentioned below:

- Admission to long-term courses is conducted through NIELIT entrance exam
- The application mode is completely online
NIELIT Ajmer Admission 2024: Certificate Courses
The duration of short-term courses is between 36 hours to two months. There is no eligibility criteria for these courses. Any candidate who is willing to learn the basic skills in IT and computer applications can apply to these courses irrespective of any educational qualifications.

NIELIT Ajmer Admission 2024: Long-term Courses
The admission to long-term courses is based on a candidate's performance in NIELIT entrance exam. All these courses are of one year's duration. The admission to these courses are conducted twice in a year (January & July). Candidates applying to any of these programmes must meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

NIELIT Ajmer Admission 2024: Digital Literacy Courses
The Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA) or National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) scheme was formulated by the government to impart IT training to Anganwadi, ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers in all the states/UTs across the country so that the IT illiterate citizens are trained to become IT literate. NIELIT decided to take active participation in promoting digital literacy and hence, the following courses were introduced with a nominal fee for people below the age of 60:

The application form for NIELIT Ajmer is rolled out a few days before the start of an academic year. Students seeking admission must meet the eligibility criteria for the course of their choice and apply by filling the application form online. The application for this year began on 11th of September and closed on 13th September. Students were then expected to report at the institute on 15th September. The fee for the application form is Rs. 295. The university rolls out a google form link as the application form. Post filling the form, students are expected to submit the duly filled application form at the NIELIT Ajmer campus on due date.

Candidates can apply online through the student portal of NIELIT (https://student.nielit.gov.in/). The step-wise application process is elaborated below:
- Click on 'new user' and create an account using E-mail ID and contact number
- Upload photograph and scanned images of signature and left-hand thumb impression (up to 50KB)
- Enter personal details and corresponding address details
- Pay the application fee of Rs 500 and click on 'submit'
Documents required to be submitted with NIELIT Ajmer application form
Candidate must have an Aadhaar card while filling the application form. In the absence of Aadhar, the candidate may submit the following official IDs:
- Enrolment number of UIDAI (EID)
- Bank account (passbook with photo)
- PAN card
- Valid passport
- Valid driving license
- Valid photo ID card of student issued by school/college authority
Candidate need not submit any documentary proof in support of the information provided in the online application form.
NIELIT Ajmer Scholarships 2024
NIELIT offers Protsahan Puraskar Scheme (erstwhile Scholarship Scheme) for SC/ST/physically handicapped and female students pursuing NIELIT O/A/B/C level courses.
Eligibility for the scholarship:
- Candidates must clear the papers in the first attempt
- The income of the parents of the student from all sources should not be more than Rs 1 LPA
A candidate has to apply for the scholarship along with the following documents:
- Proof of registration/op-gradation
- Proof of passing the examination of the relevant level
- Proof of pursuing O/A/B/C level as full-time courses
- Proof of income
