A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

B.A. (English) at Patna Women's College: Worth the Investment?

Based on student reviews and feedback, here are the key pros and cons to consider:

Pros:

* Quality Education: Professors are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, providing a great learning experience.
* Infrastructure: The college has modern facilities, including a large library, well-equipped laboratories, and a beautiful auditorium.
* Placement Opportunities: While limited, the college organizes internships and placement drives, offering opportunities to interact with companies like HDFC and ICICI Bank.
* Industry-Relevant Coursework: The curriculum covers essential topics, preparing students for careers in journalism, publishing, marketing, and communications.
* Personal Growth: Students develop strong communication and analytical skills, leading to personal growth and confidence.

Cons:

* Limited Placement Offers: Fewer than 20 students got placed in a single batch, with mostly low-paying jobs.
* No Top Recruiting Companies: Major corporations rarely visit the college for recruitment purposes.
* Strict Environment: The hostel has strict rules, limiting freedom and creating tension among students.
* High Fees: The tuition fee is relatively expensive, exceeding INR30,000 per year.
* Old Infrastructure: The college building may appear outdated, despite having modern facilities within.

In conclusion, while Patna Women's College offers a quality education and prepares students for industry-specific roles, the limitations in placement opportunities and strict environment may deter some students. However, for those willing to invest in their studies and adapt to the college's rules, this course can lead to personal and professional growth.

Recommendation: For students seeking a strong foundation in English literature and communication, this course may be suitable. However, those expecting lucrative job prospects or a more relaxed environment may find alternatives more appealing.

Q:   Is B.Com at Patna Women's College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here are the key points:

* Teaching Quality: Faculty members are generally well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Some teachers are exceptional, while a few may not be as effective.
* Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the in-depth knowledge gained. Practical applications of theoretical concepts would be beneficial.
* Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, placements are limited, especially for the B.Com course. Only a handful of students get placed annually, and the companies that visit the campus often hire only 3-4 candidates.
* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, including modern classrooms, a well-stocked library, and adequate recreational spaces.
* Campus Life: While the college has a strict policy against phone usage, students report enjoying the cultural events and festivals organized throughout the year.
* Scholarships: Scholarships are available for deserving students, making the course more accessible.

Conclusion: Based on the mixed bag of reviews, investing in a B.Com course at Patna Women's College may depend on individual preferences and priorities. While the college excels in terms of faculty quality and infrastructure, the lackluster placement record may dissuade some prospective students. Others may find the college's strong academic reputation and unique features outweighing the limitations. Ultimately, careful consideration is required before making a decision.

I would recommend students to take admission in it.
Placements: It is a perfect college for students who are wishing to have bachelor's degrees in mass communication and journalism. It does not give the placements as one needs to have a master's degree in the course. The environment and the nature of all the professors are very good.
Infrastructure: The building and infrastructure are very good and beautiful. This college provides a library, computer laboratories, and an activity room. The campus is also very big. It also does provide a hostel with sports and game facilities. It does not provide students with Wi-Fi, and also students cannot use their phones on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. It does make students ready to face any issues on their own. The semester exams are not hard as it goes with what students studied and with current affairs. The pass percentage depends on the department.
Other: I opted for this course, because I am very much capable to speak and write. It is good for others and they should know what is going on in our country. It gives me the freedom to express myself in front of a mass audience. These students can take part in many events as per other choices, and also in extra curriculum activities.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty and the examination pattern.
Placements: Only 30% students were placed with low paying jobs. The highest package offered was 30,000 per month and the lowest was 10,000 per month. 70% students got internship for few months and only few of them got recruitment top roles offered was of teacher or civil services or customer service.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great, clean toilets and classrooms, Library is well stocked with informative books e-library provides Wi-Fi connection and various other facilities. Canteen is very small and offers limited variety of food items and very unhygienic surrounding.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and also provides extra knowledge but the teachers don't help us with notes they leave us to ourselves to solve the problems. I course is not updated with the current scenario. Semester examination is very difficult as compared to other colleges.
Other: I chose history because it'll help me to preparing for UPSC the best thing about this course is it covers most of the syllabus of civil services I just wish the course was not so lengthy.

Dissatisfied because of placements. Good infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: Very few companies visit our college for placement. Companies like Byju's and Grey Matters visited our college for placement last year. ABP news came to our college for placement. Roles offered in my course are public relation executive, radio jockey, news reporter, news anchor, video editor, etc. Our college doesn't provide internships; you have to find your internship by yourself. Students get internship in Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, Hindustan, Door darshan, etc.
Infrastructure: Our department has a library and computer lab. Classrooms are well maintained. Our college has a big cafeteria where the quality of food is amazing. Medical facilities are good. The college organizes so many sports events, and a sports day is also celebrated in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable in the course. The students are going to the field for reporting, and we learn how to handle a camera. The semester exams are difficult; the pass percentage is 50% in our course. There are 6 semesters in each semester; there is one midterm and one endterm exam.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in it. The things I wish would be improved are that in this course the main thing that is not being focused on in our college is practical because mass communication is all about practical. There are so many fests and extracurricular activities organized in our college. Scholarships are available for students.

Faculty members of mass communication are very good.
Placements: Placements of this college are very good. For this particular course (mass communication), there are good opportunities for students to get placed in the media sector. Companies such as India TV, Republic TV, News18 Bihar-Jharkhand, etc., visit our college to recruit students with good salary packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is very good. The main building is fine, and every department has its own building. There are air-conditioned labs for computer and science, and there is a separate lab for every subject. Medical facilities are also good, and the sports ground is also huge.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and cooperative. You can communicate easily with teachers, and teachers communicate with each other finely. Teachers provide practical knowledge to students and provide fieldwork for them so that they become industry-ready.

The infrastructure of the college is good, the faculty member good but placement nahi hai .
Placements: There is zero in the name of placement, no one has been placed in the college, there is only placement official cell here and nothing else. Companies come but not many come, it is average and the lowest, no one gets anything. Yes, there is internship, we ourselves look for an organisation for internship.
Infrastructure: Registration kai Classroom, library all are good but there is no AC in class room. Or in college, using phones in college campus is not allowed. It is fine if someone uses phones. Or if we are talking about games, everything cost money for registration.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable, all have Ph.D. Everyone helped in exams, faculty members are very well behaved, everyone is very nice. The examination has been conducted very well. There is no cheating in the exam. There are semester wise exams or a lot of projects are given.
Other: When I chose this course, I thought it would be practical but there is more theory than practical but the knowledge you get, the size of the campus is also good, the programme is conducted very well, scholarship is also available, activities are also done, Is there any event or fest in college? You will get to learn a lot of things.
