B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2025

It offers strong academic and good placements but need improvement in industry collaboration.
Placements: PIET has a good reputation for placement and academic support. For our batch of 2025 in B.Tech, around 80% of students are placed in reputed companies. The highest salary package offered is 38 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 5.25 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies included Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, TCS, Infogain, Virtusa, etc., providing excellent career opportunities. Approximately 90% of students from our batch secured internships in companies like Cognizant, Solitaire, Infosys Pvt. Ltd., Gate, etc. The top roles offered included software developer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Department provides excellent facilities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, modern computer labs, well-equipped classrooms with projectors and LED screens, and access to a vast library with a variety of books and e-resources. Hostel facilities are comfortable, with clean and spacious rooms available for students. Mess serves hygienic and nutritious food with a variety of options to cater to different tastes. Medical facilities include a dedicated health center in the pharmacy block. For recreation, the PIET campus provides ample sports facilities, including grounds for cricket, volleyball, basketball, football, and indoor games like table tennis, chess, and foosball.
Faculty: Teachers are approachable and provide valuable guidance to help students understand complex concepts, both in theory and practical application. The teaching quality is commendable, with a mix of traditional and modern teaching methods, including the use of technology and real-world examples to enhance learning.
Other: I am part of the 2025 batch in the B.Tech (IT) program at PIET. I chose this course because of my interest in programming and the growing demand for IT professionals in the industry. The best things about the IT course include the strong focus on practical learning through coding labs and live project work. It could be improved with more opportunities for live projects and internships tied directly to industry collaboration. The campus hosts events and fests (like Freshers, and Maestros). It offers scholarships based on merit and financial assistance, which motivate students to perform well.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Batch of 2025

Not so best but trying to be best.
Placements: You will only get placements if you are a topper. For example, if there are 100 students, only 2-3 will get placements. Even the placement companies are also not so good. They will offer you 10,000-15,000 a month, and as per me, it's not worth it after scoring so good in our classes.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average and the hostel is also average. The food in the hostel is also not so good. There is a building for B. Tech students which is so good, and the facilities in that building are much better than others. The washrooms are also so clean.
Faculty: The behavior of all the teachers is so bad. If you have any query, first they will scold you, and then they will tell you. They don’t have enough knowledge. If you are taking admission after 2024, the exam difficulties will be easy, and the pass percentage will be 33%.
Other: I love doing coding, that’s why I took admission in BCA. The best thing about my course is it’s more practical. As per me, they have to work on their infrastructure and facilities in the BCA building. Wi-Fi and computers are also not good.

Piet: a student perspective.
Placements: I am Aryan Kumar, studying in Piet till 2021, and I am in the 4th year of B.Tech. in Piet. The placement record of the college is good if we talk about the overall placement record, but if we talk about the B.Tech course, then the placement record is not that good in this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very nice there are 7 building in college that have different course. The campus of the college is clean and green; there are 3 to 4 parks in the college. There are many canteens in the college campuses. Overall, the infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Faculty is good in the college, but the management of the college is very rude; they didn't help you in any way; if you were right or wrong, they didn't help you. If you did any right thing but unfortunately it became wrong, then they didn't listen to you. They only fined you, and if you don't fill out the form, then they don't allow you to give the examination.
Other: Please don't take admission in Piet because they are like the teeth of an elephant. They have different faces at the time of admission, and they act different after taking admission in the college.

I have to give 50% for my overall college experience in 1 year.
Placements: In my college, as per my self-research, there are 40% of students who get placed, and the rest of 60% did not. To satisfy the placement income, and some have personal reasons not to be placed, the placements were of a short time for students, like 5-6 months, which is not enough for students, by which 60% of students taking part in that.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good enough for my prospective because it has neat and clean buildings and a good facility of water and toilets, but I am a day scholar, so I didn't view the hostel myself, but as per my friends in hostel, it has good and clean facilities in hostel.
Faculty: This is a major role, but in my perspective, that is not good at all because tomorrow is my paper or English, but they have changed the syllabus 1 month later, so it is very difficult to cover it because I have not only one subject, and giving 100% time to one subject is not good.
Other: This is so because of my personal issues I can't go far enough from my house, but if anyone has a chance to go, I am pretty shuru to take admission in other colleges, and there are many of the colleges of the same fee.

It has the worst faculty members. Overall, it is the worst college.
Placements: I pursued B. Tech in CSE in 2019-23 here. Our college only invites call centers and very bad reputed companies for engineers. Students here should forget about internships. If they get a job with a salary package of 1.5 LPA, then it is a very big deal. I had to hustle hard to get a job opportunity with a salary package of 5 LPA off-campus. Almost 80% of students remain unemployed and the remaining 20% are offered low-paying jobs.
Infrastructure: Firstly, the whole college campus is spread over only 19 acers, in fact, my school was bigger than this. There is no free Wi-Fi. Labs have outdated computers, and classrooms are pathetic. The only good thing was the library, but the staff members there were also arrogant and full of ego.
Faculty: The worst thing about this college is the faculty members. HOD is not good, and the teachers have ego. They show no support to the students in anything. Students should request teachers if they want to go for some research opportunities or workshops. They only want you to read and pass exams. The course curriculum is so outdated that they teach floppy disks in today's time.
Other: I suggest students do not waste their single penny here. A local pharmacy college near our house would be a better opportunity. There are very less events on campus, and fests are cancelled mostly. The campus is located in Samalkha in the midst of nowhere, and it is surrounded by empty fields and a highway. If students come here their life will be destroyed. It is a waste of time and money.

Our college is superb.
Placements: Only 30 to 40 students get placed in our college. The lowest salary package is around 2.2 LPA. Only those students who study day and night get placed. The average salary package is around 10 LPA. 20 to 30 students secure internships from companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms are very good. The quality of the hostel is very good. Mess and canteen food is the best. Food in the mess is superb and I also like the canteen food. Hostel is neat and clean. I am not living in the hostel but our friends are living there.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Exam are very difficult in our college, and students fail in these examinations. 45% of marks are necessary to pass. Students who study day and night will be the only students who get passing marks.
Other: My uncle suggested me this course so I chose this course. College organizes 2 fests each year, one in September and another in March. The name of the September fest is Carbuncle and the March fest is Mestros.
