Those who actually want to study can join the institute and explore a lot.
Placements: Very few placements were done in my batch; 6-7 students were placed in different cities of India. They were placed in IT companies. The top recruiting company was Artisan Software Technology, an IT company. The highest average package was 4 LPA with a two-year bond.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. It is a government college, and the building and infrastructure were like any other government building. Computer labs are available for students during college hours. There are four hostels in the college. The food is also okay, and all other facilities are also there.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams vary according to different semesters; some semesters are easy, and some are difficult. The teaching quality was very good; teachers paid a lot of attention and were very determined.
Other: This college is always awarded first position in Youthfest. Many competitions are conducted. Sports Day is also celebrated. Hostel events such as farewell, freshers, and annual day are organized.

My personal experience at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh in BCA.
Placements: I am in my second year, so till now, I don't have any real or personal experience about the placements. As there is no such placement cell, and as per seniors' experiences, big companies don't come to this college. So, the scope of getting placements in tech companies isn't possible at this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but the washrooms are not so good. There is no Wi-Fi available in the college or in the computer labs also. But there is a lot of greenery on the college campus, which is a plus point. The hostel infrastructure is too good, and the washrooms are also nice with a warm water supply during winter.
Faculty: As my course is BCA, it is one of the hardest courses. Still, there is no practical experience as teachers expect us to cram answers. They don't guide us properly. They don't even take proper classes. Exams are conducted in a proper way, but the faculty for the BCA course isn't appropriate.

Absolutely dissatisfied with faculty .
Placements: Most of BCA students get placement but most of them didnt get any placement In terms of placement, there are only few companies which come to our college after SD. top recruiters are mostly wipro Infosys, etc.
the highest package was around 5 LPA
And the lowest was 2–3 LPA..
Infrastructure: I would say infrastructure is kind of below average; most of the building is under construction, and they didn't have the particular I.T. room since it was under construction, and the hostel is also under construction. This college feels like I'm in some hospital or something. All the infrastructure is complete or not that great.
Faculty: Since our college is affiliated with Panjab University, the exams are kind of perfect. The syllabus is nice, and the exam timing as well as the holidays in between exams are justified. Also, exams are not that difficult from my perspective, but you know there are a few subjects that are quite difficult, but exams are mostly easy.

Highly affordable, good amenities, and good sports facilities.
Placements: The placements of my college are average. The placement report of previous years shows that the campus has an average placement report. The college has recruitment of students by Mohali-based and Chandigarh-based local companies. The students who got placed were nearly 10 out of a batch of 85 students. The highest package was 3 lac, and the lowest package offered was 1.2 lac per annum. The company that came for recruitment was Cognizant last year. The internships are not provided by the college. Students need to take personal initiative to apply for internships on their own. The roles that were offered through college placement were offered to junior computer operators. Data typist, website developer, coding for Mohali-based MNCs. etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: My course is BCA, and for this there are 4 to 5 labs for BCA students. The lab's infrastructure is good. Computers are intact with good software that is up to date. All the computers have Windows 11 installed in them. The hostel rooms are spacious; there are two to three students in a single room. The quality of food offered is poor. There are various amenities in this college of sports: library, canteen, cozycove, beauty parlor, gym, and games. The hostel has timing restrictions; otherwise, the overall experience is worth it.
Faculty: The BCA department has approximately 10-15 teachers. All the faculty are well-knowledgeable, well-mannered, and polite; all are UGC qualified and are Ph.D. holders. The course is designed in such a way that students get in-depth knowledge about the applications of computers. But this does not mean that this makes the students industry-ready; the students need to study and conceptualize and apply the practical knowledge of algorithms and coding language. The semester exams are easy to moderate; they are not difficult. The passing percentage of each subject is 33%. Generally, the questions come from previous year papers.
Other: I did choose this course because the course is highly affordable with a good ROI for the future. This gives me in-depth knowledge about the applications of computers. What I want to improve about this course is that there should be an exclusion of Punjab and English subjects. And the addition of other computer-oriented subjects that give more practical knowledge about coding and C language. There are regular events and fests held in my college, like Science Fest, Techzeal, etc. every 2-3 weeks.

Satisfied because of good faculty and facilities.
Placements: Above 50% of students are placed in Bachelor of Arts. The college does offer placement to them, but B.A. students mostly don't take them. Most placements are offered to BCA students. The packages offered to them are mostly average but also depend on the qualifications of the students.
Infrastructure: The college has average infrastructure, typically that of a government college. The classrooms are big, with wooden benches, and have big windows providing good ventilation. The college has different departments, each with its own labs. The library is very big, with AC facilities, and offers study material related to each and every course offered. The quality of hostels is average, and the quality of food offered by the mess is eatable. The hostel rooms are mostly shared between two girls. The college has a dispensary within, which offers medical care to the girls. In case of emergencies, the girls can visit PGI or Government Hospital, Sector 16. The college offers various sports activities as well as NCC and NSS.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Overall, the teaching quality is above average. The students who have started college in 2024 have a new curriculum under NEP. This curriculum is quite relevant. It makes students ready for their future occupations and helps them deal with their stress. The semester exams are not very tough. The pass percentage is 80%. Students need to be prepared beforehand and have all their concepts clear.
Other: I am currently studying Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. The Psychology department of PGGCG-11 is very good and talked about in Chandigarh. Every department of the college organizes different events and extracurricular activities throughout the year. The Psychology department of PGGCG-11 is very interactive and active with their events.

If you have proper knowledge of the subject, you can opt for this college.
Placements: Only three to four students are placed from our college, and only two to three companies visited our college. The package was below 200,000 per annum. Top recruiting company is Deloitte. No internship programs are developed in our college. The accountant role is offered by the companies.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facilities are given, even though the college network connection is poor. Only the library has internet access, which is given only with permission. Hostel rooms are good enough according to the price. The quality of food is normal. The warden is very strict, and proper timing should be maintained.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful, but some teachers have no proper knowledge about their subject. Teachers are overburdened due to the lack of faculty. They didn't recruit teachers. There are no proper group discussions; only in the first semester are group discussions organized.
