Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Com at Prananath College?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Here's what current students and alumni have to say:

    Infrastructure and Facilities
    * The college's infrastructure is old-fashioned, with some classrooms lacking air conditioning and WiFi.
    * However, the library is huge and has a wide collection of books and journals.
    * Hostel facilities are limited, with only a few options for girls, while boys may opt for private hostels or messes.

    Teaching Quality and Faculty
    * Teachers in the Commerce Department are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable.
    * Teaching quality is considered good, making students ready for the industry (with proper preparation).
    * Some teachers may be strict, but most are willing to clarify doubts.

    Placements and Internships
    * Placement records vary, with around 60-80% of students getting placed in good companies like TCS and Accenture.
    * Salary packages are reportedly average.
    * Internship opportunities are scarce, with mostly self-initiated efforts leading to placements.

    Student Life and Environment
    * The college has a decent environment conducive to studying.
    * Students report positive interactions with peers and professors.
    * Extracurricular activities and seminars are organized occasionally.

In conclusion, pursuing B.Com at Prananath College might be suitable for students seeking a relatively affordable education with access to a large library and decent teaching quality. However, students should be aware of the limitations in infrastructure, limited hostel facilities, and average placement records. Additionally, they should be proactive in seeking out internship opportunities and self-directed learning resources.

Placement Cell Success Rate for B.Com Students

Unfortunately, none of the statements mention anything about the placement cell's success rate or activities specifically for B.Com students. Since there is no direct information available, I cannot provide any figures or details regarding the placement cell's performance for B.Com students at Prananath College.

However, it's worth noting that some students mentioned that the faculty of the Commerce Department is "friendly, highly qualified, and knowledgeable" and that the teaching quality is "up to the mark." It only has PG and UG courses in this college, So, there are no internships, but if a person likes autonomous college, then it is not bad.

    Commercial hub for commerce students
Placements: About 40–50% of the students get placed. The average package offered is between INR 2,50,000 and 3,00,000 LPA. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the top recruiter. Most students get internships under a CA firm. The top roles offered are accounting, bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing.
Infrastructure: The college also arranges visits to factories that provide employment opportunities for graduates. However, the mess and hostel facilities need improvement, as they are not very sanitary or healthy.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are qualified and have degrees, knowledge, and experience. They provide support and proper guidance to students. The curriculum is strictly as per Utkal University and CHSE syllabus. Semester exams are tricky, and one can only ace them by studying. The pass percentage is mostly 65%.
Other: I was the topper of this college in class 12th in my district. I am aiming to be the topper again in graduation with the guidance of my teachers.

    Charan's review for PN college.
Placements: There were a total of 400+ students who were placed in our course. The highest package in our course was 12 LPA. The lowest package in our course was 6 LPA. The average package in our course was 9 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course are Tech Mahindra and Axis Bank.
Infrastructure: To be honest, no such facilities are available for our department. The college is mainly focused on science students, so if you want to study commerce, you have to sacrifice those facilities you want, such as Wi-Fi and A/C. Another important thing we need to discuss is food. The food is not that good if you expect much.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was good, but they will teach you in their language. If you have any problem with their language, you need to tell them that you are facing a problem so that they can explain it in your language.
Other: I chose this course because I want to do an MBA in a reputed college. To do that, I first need to get my degree certificate from a government college.

Placements are quiet poor unless you are a good students.
Placements: The placements of this college are quite poor. If you are a good student with good communication skills the you can get placed in a good company. Unfortunate I don't have an idea about the highest and average package. Top recruiting companies are TCS, hike education etc. 50 to 60% of the students get placed and also get internships. Roles offered are sales, marketing and promotions etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite old fashioned. The classrooms are big and the college also has a huge library where there are ample amount of books and journals available. The hostel facility inside the college is only available for girls and boys can take private mess or hostels nearby college. The food at the canteen is pretty good.
Faculty: The teachers of the college Especially the teachers of commerce Department are very friendly, qualified, knowledgeable and the quality of their teaching is also good. The course curriculum makes students ready for industry but if the student studies properly. The semester exams of the college are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is 80%.

The students and teachers both are very friendly.
Placements: Up to 70% of the students in our course get placed every year. The average package is approximately about 1.5 LPA to 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Hike education, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, etc. The roles offered in these companies are sales, marketing, BPS, etc. 30 to 40% of the students also get internships.
Infrastructure: The college's infrastructure is improving day by day. The classrooms at the college are big, neat and clean. The fans are there, and the classrooms are well-equipped. The college has a huge library where there are an ample amount of books and journals available. The hostel facility inside the college is available for girl students and the boy hostel is nearby the college. The food quality in the mess and canteen is hygienically prepared and it also tastes good.
Faculty: The teachers in the commerce department are very good. Their teaching quality is also good. They are highly qualified, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and prompt to solve the doubts of students. This course curriculum is relevant for students and it also makes the students ready for industry if they study properly. The semester exams in the commerce department are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is 70%.

    Review of Prananath College.
Placements: Up to 50% of the students get placed in our course. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea about the average and the highest package, but top recruiting companies are TCS, Hike Education, Teach-Mahindra, ICICI, etc. After our course, 30 to 40% of students get internships. Top roles offered are BPS, sales management, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is improving day by day. The Department of Commerce is also good. The classrooms are big, and the fans and lights of the classrooms are working well. But the college library is huge and has an ample amount of books and journals available. The hostel facility inside the college is available only for girl students.
Faculty: The teachers of the Commerce Department are good. They are well-qualified, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt to solve the doubts of the students. The teaching quality of the teachers is also good. This course is relevant and makes the students ready for the industry if the students study properly.
