    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

    Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Helpful and knowledgeable teachers
    * Good infrastructure (classrooms, libraries)
    * Affordable fees (INR 70,000 for three years)
    * Opportunities for extracurricular activities and events
    * Industry-oriented course curriculum

    Cons:

    * Limited placement opportunities (only 30-40% of students get placed)
    * Low salary packages (average package: INR 1.5 Lacs per annum)
    * Poor Wi-Fi connectivity
    * Old infrastructure (some buildings and amenities may be outdated)
    * High competition among students
    * Limited internship opportunities (around 20% of students)

    Additional Insights:

    * Students and alumni emphasize the importance of taking tuition classes to supplement learning, especially for those who struggle academically
    * The college does not offer internship opportunities, but some students have reported securing positions through company-specific recruitment programs

    It is a good college for students to pursue higher studies.
    Placements: 70% of students were placed in our course. There are three-year courses along with add-on courses like freshwater aquaculture and vermi composting. Many students got internships. The college grounds are very neat and clean, and the environment is suitable for studying.
    Infrastructure: The labs are well-developed with specimens and chemicals, and the library system is more advanced. In the hostel, the quality of food is average. Medical facilities and sports and games are given first priority. There is a Wi-Fi system in the library, and previous years' question papers are also available for exam preparation.
    Faculty: The teaching quality is very good, and the teachers use AI skills in their teaching. The course curriculum is basic for higher studies. The pass percentage for the semester is 4.5 CGPA. The semester exams are easy if you are prepared for them in advance. If you prepare yourself in a rhythmic manner daily, then the exam is very easy.
    Other: I want to pursue higher studies in my optional subject. The surroundings are very good.

    A great college with great memories.
    Placements: Very rarely the students get placements and most importantly, mostly Computer Science students get placements. Other departments like Geology, Geography, etc. don't get proper placements. I took this subject to explore it and set an example for the future generation.
    Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good but the toilet facilities are very poor. I don't know a lot about the hostel as I live with my guardian, but I have seen the hostel, it looks good. Wi-Fi is only available for the faculty and the college staff, the students don't get access to it. The classrooms are fine and the library is okay. Some departments don’t have enough faculty or even proper classrooms.
    Faculty: The teachers are very helpful friendly in nature. The exams are conducted properly on time. They are tough and it is good to prepare you for future entrance exams. The courses are good enough for your degree. The only problem is that you should take tuition classes instead of the college classes for proper understanding if you are a poor student.
    Other: In today's life everyone is only interested in medical and engineering, Geology is a very underrated subject as it has potential, but due to lack of students, it gets ignored.

    Should you Choose PN College, Khordha?
    Placements: While there are some big names like TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys, etc. There are select few students who are selected every year, about 4-5 out of 64 students in strength. The top roles, like software developer, analyst, etc., are indeed very rare. Only the top 0.0001% get their desired job with the desired package. Usually, companies just take students from the B.Sc. course to lay off later. So it would be better to have projects, courses, and skills on your resume rather than just depending on your college.
    Infrastructure: The course offered is pretty good but not industry-ready. It needs development in its computers and infrastructure as a whole. It lacks basic computer functions with advanced new-age compilers that are much needed for coding. The hostels are cheap, but food and living conditions are pretty bad. You have to be in your best mindset just to live there.
    Faculty: The teachers are indeed very knowledgeable in their field. The sheer amount of effort that I see teachers put into the CS course is amazing. They solve queries too. They recommend books, etc. The difficulty of semester exams is average; anyone can easily pass them if they review their class notes regularly.
    Other: I chose the course because it is actually affordable. For 3 years, they take around 70,000 INR, which is just the fees of one semester for B. Tech courses. There's no difference between both courses, but obviously, B. Tech has a sharp edge over this course. You won't even realize when fests come and go. While they publish notices, still there is a lack of communication between students, authority, and teachers. Most of the time, teachers don't even know what's going on. There are many, and I mean many times for you to participate in extracurricular activities. I wish that they had Wi-Fi in our CS department; it's supposed to be the flagship department, meaning anyone can understand what situation the college is in by looking at the department. We don't even have decent tables and benches; we lack any kind of good computers.

    Review of Prananath College B.Sc. Computer Science.
    Placements: Placements are not that good. Some companies visit our college. From our batch, 10% of students got placed. They have an average package of 1.5 lakhs. Top companies like Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Capgemini regularly visit our college. The college doesn't provide internships.
    Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite big; they have a Wi-Fi campus but there is no Wi-Fi; they are working on Wi-Fi. Labs are good but computer labs need so much improvement. Hostels are average. We have 3 canteens in our college, where you can easily avail of all types of foods. Almost every sports competition is done at our college.
    Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified but the computer science department needs improvement. Overall, the teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is according to Utkal University. It is up-to-date with current requirements. Semester exams are average, so you can easily score good marks. The pass percentage is 33%.
    Other: I want to evolve with the current generation so I chose computer science. They need to improve practical labs and do more projects. Almost every event is done at our college.

    Satisfied with the friendly nature of teachers and students.
    Placements: This college conducts placement drives, but the maximum number of students are not selected; only 30 to 40% of students get selected with low packages. Top recruiting companies include TCS, etc. The students get internships through the course, and they secure positions in companies like TCS, Accenture, etc.
    Infrastructure: This is a more than 50-year-old college, and the classrooms are good and clean, but it has no Wi-Fi. However, the college has a huge library where there is an ample amount of books and journals available, which helps the students during exam times. The hostel facility is available for both boys and girls, but the boys' hostel is outside the college, and the girls' hostel is inside the college.
    Faculty: The teachers of the Commerce Department are very helpful, friendly, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also up to the mark. This course prepares students for the industry, but only if they study properly. The semester exams of the college are moderately difficult.

    I am not satisfied and the examination system is very much disappointing.
    Placements: To be honest, the percentage of students who got jobs through campus placement is quite low. About 30–40 percent of students get placement and most of them do not join. The highest average package offered by campus placement is 2,40,000 PA. And the lowest salary is 1,20,000 PA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. The top roles offered are web-developer, software cyber security manager, etc.
    Infrastructure: Facilities are not quite good but it's okay. The library is available and students can read there all the time. Classrooms are good but laboratories can be improved. The quality of the food in the mess is very poor and the meals available in canteens are so expensive. The sports facility is not quite good and needs to be improved.
    Faculty: Teachers are good but not the best. They are qualified and knowledgeable but their teaching quality can be improved. But the course is curriculum-relevant and absolutely perfect for the students, making them eligible for industry. The examination system is very poor at the college. Semesters do not continue for 6 months; rather, the course is taught for 4 months and an exam is conducted. Although the pass percentage is quite high but the students who are average in studies are not focused properly.
    Other: I chose this course because of the financial status of my family. Although the course fees are quite high as compared to other colleges,. The best thing about B.Sc. CS is that it is job oriented but you need to learn extra skills. I think our college can somehow improve the examination system.
