Placement Cell for BE/BTech at RIET Kerala: An Overview

Unfortunately, the placement cell at RIET Kerala appears to be ineffective in placing students in companies. Despite claims of providing placement training and conducting seminars, no student has been placed in a company over the past two years, specifically from the Mechanical Engineering Department.

    Here's what students have reported:

    * Lack of Placements: None of the students have secured placements in any company during the last two years.
    * Unrealized Promises: Although the college collects INR2,000 per year from each student in the name of placements, the promised services seem to be unfulfilled.

It is essential for prospective students to consider these facts before choosing the college. While the institute may boast of excellent infrastructure and other amenities, its inability to secure placements for its students raises concerns about its effectiveness in this regard.

Placements are good and the fee structure varies with the mark percentage.
Placements: Students who are ready to upskill get placed. We got an internship in our first year. In the first semester itself, we got the opportunity to attend a hackathon. All expenses are covered by the college. They also supported us in our project ideas so I got support.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available on campus. Labs, classrooms, and library are excellent. The canteen is good and it is a good place to vibe. We get a computer for online reference.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, supportive, and friendly. First-year semester exams are difficult because all the tough subjects are in the first year. It gets easier because the rest of the semesters are core subjects and minor majors can be taken as per our interests.
Other: The future is in technology and I am interested in technology so I chose CSE in RIET. Techno Cultural Fest is a big function in the college that all students attend to make the event successful.

I am satisfied with the really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Most students get placed in better positions through our college. Our college provides training to the students in their 3rd year to prepare them for placement opportunities and also helps and motivates us. Our college offers so many fantastic and paid job opportunities and courses like automation, machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and lab facilities are average. They provide the internet in some labs.
Faculty: The faculty members are good at teaching and helping the students achieve their dreams. The topics and lab classes are really helpful at the industry level. Exams are as expected. The pass percentage is 80%.
Other: I chose this course because I am really interested in this field of engineering in technology, computers, gaming, coding, etc. College fests and other activities are fantastic, and students can have a great time on those days. The canteen and other facilities are decent. A little bit more time for the semesters would be great. I am interested in the curriculum because there's less to study but more knowledge on those topics.

    Strict management and outstanding infrastructure.
Placements: At our college, placement opportunities vary by stream. While students in Computer Science and Electronics streams typically receive placement offers, Civil Engineering students do not. The college has tie-ups with Tata Consultancy Services and other companies focused on computer programming and technology, areas currently in high demand.
Infrastructure: Our college has impressive infrastructure. The campus features a well-maintained 10-storey building, kept clean by the staff. The canteen is huge, neat, and serves good-quality food. The campus itself is visually appealing and has a relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, there is a library which is large and well-stocked, providing a wide range of books for students.
Faculty: Most teachers at our college are qualified, friendly, and hold master's degrees, with some having graduated from our own institution. However, a few teachers are less helpful or engaging compared to others. The college maintains a decent pass rate, partly due to university policies. While backlogs are common in the B.Tech programme, teachers generally try to help students succeed. Management is also quite strict.
Other: Only a few programs are held here. The Techno-Cultural Fest "ITIHA" and arts fest "Zerron" take place annually. These events are major highlights of college life. All students participate to make them a grand event, but they are a bit expensive. Aside from these events, the campus life may not feel very vibrant. The campus has more of an office-like atmosphere, lacking the typical "college" vibe.

An average college with a good infrastructure.
Placements: Out of 120 students, around 30-40 got placements. Not much companies come to attract students but the ones who come are pretty good. Top roles offered were data scientist. As far as I know, the salary packages start from three lakhs to 6.5 lakhs were offered. Overall this college has a pretty okay placement scenario.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this campus is astounding as it is very beautiful and modern. Library is also pretty big with a lot of books for readers. For B.Tech CSE course, the college provides Apple iOS labs for a good experience. Classrooms and grounds are average but canteen is good.
Faculty: The teachers have a good experience and they know what they are teaching. The way of teaching of each lecturer is different but very interesting. This course's difficulty is medium and the exams are sometimes a little tough.
Other: According to me, B.Tech CSE is the most attractive course of this college. Events, fests, and various functions are also pretty good but also a bit expensive.

The college has a good ambiance.
Placements: It is a huge campus including diploma in engineering, B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, hotel management, and different varieties of career courses. Our top recruiters are Apple, TCS, and various other top companies. Any student who passed from here can get a placement.
Infrastructure: In our college, labs are of international level because they consist of equipment from abroad which cost crores. The library is a huge building. We can also get books from our digital library. Hostel food is above average. There are very strict hostel wardens.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified and disciplined. They conduct online classes during exam times. Hand written notes are also provided. The examination is very strictly observed with two invigilator in a class. This is a very strict and well-maintained management college which means everything and everyone here is well disciplined.
Other: I'm studying at RIET 3rd year in the electrical and electronics engineering course. I joined this college on a merit basis and the fee is approximate Rs.30000 per year. Each year, they conduct huge events, arts, sports, athletics, etc. They included buggy racing the previous year. Campus life is up to my expectation.

The infrastructure is good, but I am dissatisfied with the placement offers.
Placements: About 30% of B.Tech students were placed. Many students do not get jobs after completing a course. Students get jobs at UST Global, Microsoft, and Google. We can get good jobs if we complete the course on time. They provide internship opportunities. Students after completing M.Tech here get a chance to teach here itself.
Infrastructure: Labs are good with Apple systems. The infrastructure is good. We get good food in the hostel. It is an exam hub. Many state and central government exams are conducted here.
Faculty: There are 8 semesters. There are 2 internal exams each semester. We have good teachers and strict management. Backlogs are part of B.Tech. Teachers try their best to make students pass the exam. By doing this, students are capable of getting a job or starting a new business.
Other: The tech fest is great and many celebrities are invited.
