B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2018

The 2014 batch of ECE branch was awesome.
Placements: During our placements, many famous companies visited our college for the placements. Those companies were Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Google, Helli Labs, and others. About 30% of students were placed from our electronics and communication batch because half of the students did not take place in the placement drives. The highest salary package provided by the companies was 18 LPA. Almost all students of our batch got internships during the six months of their industrial training. Some students even got paid internships. The college provided the best course for networking, marketing, data science, and data analysis.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Ropar campus was very calm and peaceful. All departments were well-constructed with a separate lawn where the students can study, play and enjoy their free time. All classrooms are neat and clean. The library of Rayat Bahra Ropar Campus is very well-organised, where you can receive 4 books at a time. There is also an e-library, where students can prepare for their placements. All computers, electronics and mechanical labs are good. Faculty do all type of practicals related to the theory subject. The college had given free Wi-Fi services. There were also a separate seminar hall, party hall, various playgrounds, and a ground for tech fest. I was not a hostler but during tech fest and celebrations, day, I stayed in the hostel. Hostel management was very good. The food of the mess was also delicious. They have different menus every day. College organised the state and national level sports programmes.
Faculty: All the teachers from B.Tech (electronics and communication engineering) were helpful and supportive. They have very good knowledge of their relevant subjects. They provided seminars and workshops for the students. The teachers even provided extra classes for better careers and placements. In the first and second semesters of our course, I found difficulties. But after one year, all semesters were good. I also got very good marks every semester. Even all the students of our batch passed all semesters. The highest percentage of topper was 90%.
Other: I always wanted to do a different course and electronics and communication engineering were different for girls. Because every girl chose computer science engineering over other engineering branches. That's why I chose ECE. I did not like coding and in the electronics course, there were different types of codings like Proteus and Keil, Aurdino, etc. The best thing about our course was that our batch visited Science City due to our project 'Moving LED using Aurdino and Bluetooth', which was a state-level competition and we got selected. We got third prize for our project. During the course, our batch did not go on a trip. That is the one thing I missed. I have participated in many competitions, groups, and tech fests. In the third year of the course, our batch organised a tech fest. I hosted quiz competitions. I have also participated in the quiz competition of the kaizen group and got 2nd position. The college life was amazing.

This college is good for students of middle-class background.
Placements: In this college, about 60-70% of the students got placed. In this college, the highest salary package offered is about 10 LPA, and the minimum salary package offered is about 1.5 LPA. Most of the companies are IT related companies like Wipro and other companies. None of the students got an internship from our batch to date.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good, and the whole campus is covered with high-speed Wi-Fi internet. The quality of the food in the hostel is very good, and there is an open gym in the hostel for students.
Faculty: In this college, teachers are well-educated, qualified and experienced. The teaching ability of the faculty members is very good. Faculty members are very supportive of students related to their problems. In this college, all the fields have practical classes to make students industry-ready. In this college, faculty members are very good, and the nature of the faculty members is also good.
Other: I want to become a mechanical engineer, so I have chosen this field. The reason to choose this college is it is the nearest to me.

    Overall the college was good.
Placements: As of this college is concerned, the placement section was not so good. There were companies who take mech students but was of IT sector. There was not a single company for the recruitment of mechanical students. The companies coming for the placements was offering only 2.5 lac per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was aesthetic. The food quality in the mess was also good. There was a gym, indoor game room. Laboratories were maintained and cleaned. Wi-Fi and electricity facility (24*7) was provided. Library was always open for the students.
Faculty: Although the teachers were good in providing the bookish knowledge to the students. The practical work was totally missing in the curriculum. For the industry purpose, I don't think so that they prepare their student good enough so that the student give it best to the industry.

Campus life is pretty good. There is an open campus and you can sit in groups.
Placements: Fee structure of my course is 67k per year. We can pay the fee in 4 installments. The fee for every course is different. For B.Tech is 1 Lacs per year. Also, the hostel fee is about 75k per year which includes mess charges, laundry charges, accommodation charges. No extra payment will be charged.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is very well maintained. Our college organizes a lot of seminars which gives practical knowledge to all of the students. Due to these seminars students get the information about the things which industries expect from us as a fresher. Our college organizes fest and fresher's party every year which gives opportunities to the students with different interests and talent. Teachers of our college are very supporting and always encourages the students to do their best and to bring best out of us.
Faculty: Faculty of my B.Tech department is very good. They know the things very precisely and when we are in the classroom then they tell us each and every single information whether we ask about it or not. I think B.Tech should more practical based and faculty members here are focusing here on that thing well.

Placements in the college and the college environment were good.
Placements: The placement rate of our college was very good. Almost 80% of the students of our batch got placed in various MNCs and startup companies. The average salary package offered was also a respectful amount. Companies like Amdocs, OpenStax, Wipro and TCS, etc., visited our college for mass recruitment. They provided jobs for a specific duration.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was very good. The campus was lush- green and spread over a large area with direct connectivity to the highway, which makes it easier for students to reach on time. Labs and other classroom infrastructure were also good with all the facilities except elevators.
Faculty: As our college was affiliated to PTU, we followed the course curriculum of PTU. The curriculum was good and fulfilled all the basic and advanced topics required. Faculty members had good knowledge about the topics and made sure to pass it on to the students.

The college has good infrastructure, and it provides good facilities.
Placements: Placements in the college are not that good. Only 5 to 10 students were placed from the engineering domain. Companies are not showing interest in visiting our college. The college doesn't provide any internships. The TPO has no experience, and that's why students are not trained well to get placed.
Infrastructure: The college provides good facilities. The college has provided Jio Wi-Fi in every room, and CCTV cameras and a big library are also available. The college has 2 grounds for playing. Quality of labs is not that good. In every lab, there are at least 1 or 2 machines which are not working. Quality of classrooms is good with proper lighting and fans. There is a canteen available in college and the quality of food served is good enough. Hostel rooms are clean and very fresh. They also provide study tables in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, but they are not trained to teach. They are fresh to the teaching field, so there is a lack of quality in their teaching. Students are interested in studies, but the quality of teaching is not that good. Industry exposure provided is nice. Teachers are not even able to perform the experiments.
Other: The college organises a fest named Afreen every year. The college also organises a special day for gaming. Every festival is celebrated on the campus.
