B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2028

RCC Institute of Information Technology - The emerging college in Kolkata.
Placements: Over 80 to 90% of students are placed each year across all the courses. The highest salary package offered is 21 LPA in 2024. The average salary package offered is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, IBM, PwC, and Amazon. Over 70% of students get some sort of internships. Top roles offered in our course are assistant system engineer or junior consultant.
Infrastructure: College has its own high-speed Wi-Fi facility and all labs are well-maintained. Classrooms are large and spacious. Each classroom has projectors. Library also has all sorts of books, from study material to novels. The college does not have its own hostel. We need to reside in a PG near Beleghata or CIT, which are quite affordable at Rs 3500 - Rs 4000 monthly. Canteen is small but the food quality is satisfactory. College has its own medical body and also college is near Divine Hospital. Sports activities are finite due to the small campus.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Each of them have completed their Ph.D. They are also very helpful and provide us with important questions to prepare before the examination. Teaching quality is satisfactory. The curriculum is a bit old. It is changing as the college has got autonomous status. Now, we can prepare our own curriculum. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I have chosen this course because it has high rate of employability and provides good return on the money. More emphasis on coding and AI should be put into the course. The various events of RCCIIT are Game of Thrones (sports event) conducted in February-March, Tech Trix (teach event) taking place in February-March, Regalia (cultural event) taking place in June-July, and Bihaan (cultural event) taking place in September-October. The college is well connected as it is connected by metro. We can avail all scholarships approved by WB government.

RCCIT: All you need to know.
Placements: It offers a quite good package of an average of 6 Lacs per annum. The faculty members are quite good and friendly. Internship opportunities are quite good and can be achieved by skilling up.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good and there are a huge number of laboratories for each department. Students can study well in the classrooms with good connectivity of Wi-Fi on each floor. Overall the Infrastructure is quite good.
Faculty: The faculty is very good. Most of the faculty members are holding a Ph.D. degree. Students can learn a lot from them. They are very friendly. Students should study well and skill themselves up so that they can grab a good placement.

Don't take admission for college life.
Placements: Placement opportunities have been relatively limited this year, with the average package offered currently standing at 10 Lacs INR. While this may be below expectations for some, it's important to focus on skill development and networking to improve prospects.
Infrastructure: The college group has become a source of frustration, plagued by organization and lack of meaningful activities. Members often feel disconnected, with poorly planned events and effective communication. Rather than fostering a supportive community, it has evolved into a chaotic and productive environment.
Faculty: There is a lot of pressure due to exams because the college is affiliated with MAKAUT. In the first year, many teachers, to be honest, don't know how to teach effective. This lack of proper guidance adds to the stress, making it difficult for students to perform well.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of college fees and faculty.
Placements: It's a below-average college as it's recently converted into a private institute. Facilities are not that much nice, but you will get a hill environment there. No sports area, just a small ground on campus. Talking about placement, the average is 4 LPA, and the highest is 14 LPA. Companies like B.M.C., Tavisca, TCS, etc. In my opinion, if you just need a degree, then this college is for you. Although their fees are just like 1 lakh per annum, it will reduce if you have your scholarship under a student credit program, etc. Like that, and there is no hostel right now.
Infrastructure: Although quality is decent, the number of placement percentages is about 80 percent nearly. Mess and canteen are okay type; you can eat. There are no such medical facilities. Now talking about sports, there are mainly indoor games conducted, and outdoor is basically less according to me. And there is a fest like Bihaan that makes your day good; it's just like awesome.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, and some are not, to be very clear. Basically, most of them are not Ph.D. holders, and their teaching quality is above average; it's good. So as I said, it's a private college recently being autonomous, so the exam curriculum is easy, meaning you can have more marks in their internal. The pass percentage is like 90 percent.

Overall, a good tear-down 3-college in Kolkata.
Placements: Most of the students from CSE get higher chances of getting placed . ECE Electrical has less chances. The highest package is nearly 9 LPA and the lowest is sometimes up to 2.5 LPA . It depends on the company and the students. You have to find your internship in most of the cases. Most of the ECE students and other branch students get placed in IT roles. So if you want ECE-related roles, you have to find it yourself . As of now, in 2025 placement, the companies like Accenture and CTS are doing placement .
Infrastructure: No hostel, but nearby PG is available at a good price . Good labs are available for all the courses. Computer labs are very advanced, and all the software is available . Great facilities for sports and co-curriculum. good library facility. All the needed books will be provided by book banks .
Faculty: MAKAUT syllabus is not too much to say . There will be an exam the whole year. Sometimes there is not much gap between two semesters. But good faculty are available; they will help you out in every step. Semesters are not very difficult if you cover the syllabus . But people get backlog frequently for no good reason. You will not get to know much about how they calculate the result in MAKAUT , so that's a downside. Total 4 internal and a semester in a year, there will be 8 ca and 2 semesters.

RCCIIT- all information merged together.
Placements: The placement percentage is about 80 to 85. The highest package provided to 2022 graduates is 13 LPA. Around 40 percent of students got internships in companies like IBM, B.M.C. etc. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant etc. The students are well skilled and get good jobs.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is not provided here. There is Wi-Fi, but it is very slow. The classroom is good but not worth it against the fees paid for it. The library facility is good, but the food in the canteen is really bad. Sports and games are well conducted and appreciated here.
Faculty: The faculty is really helpful and knowledgeable, but the teaching quality is average. The curriculum is good as it covers basics and core, but it is irrelevant to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty. The pass percentage is 90 percent, but students get backlogs commonly and have to clear them in the near future.
Other: The infrastructure can be better.
