The School of Distance Education and Learning (SODEL) of Jaipur National University was established in the year 2008. The school got approval from the Distance Education Council (DEC) and AICTE in 2009 to offer various programmes at UG and PG level. It provides a benefit to the students for learning at their own pace and convenience, especially to those who have socio-economic/ family/ geographic/ professional constraints. The school makes learning accessible through Self-Learning Material (SLM) which is in print, delivered at the doorsteps of the learner. The study material also contains self-learning exercises and check your progress questions.

Shifting From Regular to Distance-Learning Mode:

The students who are pursuing any of the regular courses from Jaipur National University and unable to continue because of any valid reasons are allowed admission to SODEL JNU Jaipur. Such students are awarded degree under distance mode, but the marks obtained by them in their regular examinations are counted if they have passed the examination of the concerned programme in which they are seeking admission.

SODEL Jaipur National University Admission Process

SODEL Jaipur National University admissions are conducted twice a year in January and July sessions. Currently, the school offers a total of ten UG and PG courses in various specialisations. Candidates, who meet the given eligibility criteria, need to fill an application form to apply for a particular programme. To facilitate the reach of the students, the school has recently started accepting online applications. However, one can also download the prospectus along with application form or buy the same from the admission office of JNU Jaipur. The course-wise SODEL Jaipur National University admission details are given below:

Candidates, who have completed Class 12 from a recognised board, can apply for UG programmes
A candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree to apply for PG programme
Selection of students to both UG and PG courses is based on the aggregate score obtained in last qualifying degree/ exam, and on a first-come-first-serve basis

SODEL Jaipur National University Courses

The school offers BA, BSc, BCA, BBA, and BCom programmes at UG level. The minimum and maximum time required to complete the UG courses is three and six years, respectively. At PG level, MA, MCA, MBA and MSc programmes are offered for a duration of two years, while the maximum time allowed to complete the same is four years. MCA programme is also offered in lateral entry mode. The course duration in such a case reduces to one year. SODEL Jaipur National University’s flagship programme is MBA, which is offered in 15 specialisations. It is a good college to take admission in distance learning course, and they provide you degree.

Placements: With distance learning courses we have been just taught etiquettes for good placement, but I know many alumni who are doing very well. We have been told to do our best in our academics and the college will provide support or chance to make it easy.

Infrastructure: The campus is spread around 80-90 acres. It has a beautiful infrastructure, a good canteen, a library, labs, basketball ground, conference hall, an area full of greenery, and medical facilities in hostel and college both. Everything is first class.

Faculty: The best thing about college is that all the faculty members are versed with many qualities and are qualified. They provide study material on time, schedule everything in a very disciplinary way. Even in the distance learning program teachers told us to get together. Exams are scheduled on time. There is no stone left that is not turned by the college to provide proper knowledge.

Other: I joined this course because I want to prepare for defense studies. Course is fruitful for me because I can prepare for my competition exam along with graduation. In my opinion for the students who are pursuing distance learning courses should be asked to visit the college every month and should analyze growth in academics with teachers. College should organise events every month to get together.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty, good placements and many facilities.

Placements: Our batch is the best. About 50% of all students got 80% and above marks in the senior secondary examination. The highest package offered in our course is about 10 LPA, which is the best package. About 60% of all students got internships from this course.

Infrastructure: Our hostel life is very good. Many facilities like medical facilities, sports, etc., are provided and are very good. The quality of food in our canteen is awesome. Many food items are available there. Wi-Fi, library, etc., are also good.

Faculty: The teachers in our college are most helpful for all students. They are knowledgeable, qualified and helpful to students. They also conduct tests every week. We have three semester examinations. The teachers teach the students by following the regular curriculum.

Other: I chose this course because my interest is in mathematics and for a degree of graduation. The events are conducted in our college. The connectivity from all places in Jaipur is good. There is no extra crowd on campus.

Definitely satisfied with the course and institution.

Placements: At least 70% of students were placed. There is only one package, which is quite affordable and easy for students to apply for. As my course is computer applications, there are a lot of IT-based companies that I could potentially hire. Most of the students who performed well and got first-division marks got internships and placements.

Infrastructure: As I did distance education, the facilities and infrastructure available to me at home and everything else could be assessed online. The course materials and course projects could be done online and verified by the professor assistants. This makes the course comfortable to take.

Faculty: The teachers and professors were really helpful in giving me guidance on the projects and exams. As the assistants can also verify the same, it has been quite helpful. Distance education makes students have less practical knowledge but apart from that, they are given enough knowledge.

I am satisfied with the college environment and good faculty members.

Placements: Due to the lockdown, a placements drive are not conducted, and students had to look for a job by themselves. Faculty members always helped to motivate and shared tips to crack the technical interviews. In case of any doubt, you can reach the teachers anytime through WhatsApp or zoom, and teams call.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility is very good. Food and other facilities are of good quality. The campus is huge and environment friendly as there are trees and flowers plants on the campus. You can find most of the books in the library, which saves some money.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-qualified. They have a thorough knowledge of their subject. The pass percentage is 50% for semester exams, which is a good thing. There is no pressure from teachers or anybody else. If you are unable to understand the doubts, you can reach out to the teachers, and they will explain the topics. The course materials are good.

Cources and faculty members are good here, but accounts management was bad.

Placements: College didn't provide an internship. Every time I was in touch with coordinators. They were ready to guide at any time.

Infrastructure: As I was a distance student, I did not require any facility from the college campus. But all the facilities which I can get from a call, I got it like portal related queries, login problem resolve, access to past sample papers, etc. I found it genuine and very easy.

Faculty: Teachers and coordinators were good and kind. During my tenure, 4-5 coordinators got changed. Every one among them was kind and helpful in every aspect. Centre location, online logging in and in every mode, teachers and coordinators were helping nature. Course, syllabus and exams were very good.

Other: I have chosen this course because I am an active businessman, and I was not able to attain a regular college. As I have done international baccalaureate in my high schooling, syllabus of BBA was so far known to me. It made me attracted to this course. Also, I was owning my business and wanted to pursue my BBA, so I have chosen distance studies from JNU.
