The campus is awesome, but the main problem is the placements, as there are many students and the college does not have tie ups with core companies, that are specific to the Oil and Gas Sector. The faculty is fine, but for some specific subjects, the guest lectures are there and they are mostly held just before a month of the exams. So, there is no proper knowledge gained in such a small period.

Placements are no good any more and courses are so specialised and scope to switch is very minimal. Labs are not updated. It would be better to go for mechanical engineering, civil engineering etc. from some other college. I would not recommend this college.

I had taken admission in this college in 2009 when although recession was there still placements were good about 40% of batch used to jobs in Oil firms. Also, that time oil prices were about 60-70$ so oil market was fine. But things started changing oil placements dropped each year. When I graduated out in my class out 60 11 got placed in Tech Mahindra 2 Sterling oil company Nigeria : package 8L 2 Cairn India Package 11.5 about 10-15 in L and T 7-10 ITC 7-10 TCS 2 In Super 10-15 in Greek drillin...

The College as a whole is too good. The environment of the campus, the crowd, the faculty plus the ambience is the best part. You seriously get a good exposure out here. I being a fresher can only say that this college is worth opting for. The branch I opted for is not very common but would have a huge demand in future plus the college has many departments for bachelor’s degree with too good specialization to opt for. It’s worth the price you give for coming here.

College is good for those who want to enjoy their 4 years college life. They provide good exposure but the fees are quiet high comparing to other colleges. But if you are looking for a college with good placement in your respective area, I must say this is not the one(except petroleum streams).

Good thing about my College is the Placements in different fields and the location of the College is awesome because it’s near the hilly area. Bad thing is the overcrowding & transportation system to the college. Missing aspects are not very much but one theatre with a very huge capacity must be there in the College.

Me as a student in my school days excelled in the academics and thus wanted to join an engineering school of reputation and name. I joined UPES, Dehradun and did my engineering in petroleum branch where I learnt about the processes through which we get petrol, diesel and other subsidiary products. The drilling processes and other processes too were taught during my course. UPES gave good opportunities to enhance our skills and learn by performing practicals. The college is situated uphill from D...

The campus is good and it is a very good college for petroleum based streams but I will not recommend it for other branches as they might not be eligible for gate because of their unique branch and stream names. The companies for oil and gas sector do come for placements and the average package of an oil and gas or upstream branches is about 6 lacks but for other branches the average package goes to about 3 lacks. The college however gives you immense exposure and enable to speak in every form a...

It’s a good college with beautiful campus, awesome faculty members and placements. It is one of the very few colleges in north India where you can pursue Aerospace engineering. The only down side of this college is its Fee structure. Here you will be finishing your B.Tech in 12 lakh which is very high as compared to the other colleges.

University is growing fast and number of students are also increasing in every department. This creates a problem in campus space and availability of classroom.

U.P.E.S is the most awesome experience of my life, it is placed in top 20 beautiful campuses across the country. It has a specialty of offering domain specific branches and it provides very good infrastructure. I consider it a very creative place, where students have the opportunity to get world class exposure and expertise in their area of interest. Thus I would recommend this college to everyone, if you have that fire in you then it's the best place to be.

The college is situated in Pondha valley, in Bidholi village and now also in another village nearby, though the location is really beautiful but you would eventually get bored as the transportation was not that great. The faculty do not have complete knowledge of the course or we can say that they are not good at teaching.

Living your life in Dehradun and UPES is worth it any day. The environment, the calmness and the life is amazing there. If you got to learn and earn, it provides everything. The college makes you learn how to live, how to survive and everything else. I recommend it to join. Of course, not better than IITs, NITs, DCE, etc.

UPES is among one of the best industrially reputed private colleges in India. The infrastructure including classrooms and labs are up to date. There are a lot of guidance of highly qualified faculty members. Although we have got a bit of placement issues mostly cause of falling oil prices, but still have one of the best private college placement records.
