B.Tech. in Food Technology (Food Biotechnology) - Batch of 2026
4.4

An Insightful Journey at UPES as a Food Technology Student
Placements: I have 4 batchmates. The highest package ranges from INR 10 to 14 LPA, the lowest is between INR 4 to 6 LPA, and the average package is INR 6 LPA. Around 90% of students have been successfully placed. Top recruiters include Nestlé, Amul, Pepsico, ITC Limited, etc. The most common roles offered are Quality Check, Food Scientist, and Management.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-maintained, equipped with LED lights, fans, projectors, and whiteboards. The labs are equipped with well-maintained equipment for experiments. The UPES library is extensive, with a wide range of course-related books, exam preparation materials, and more. The campus hostel features a daily needs shop, a properly structured mess, 24-hour medical service, and a common room with AC for study or leisure. The view of the mountains from the hostel is spectacular, and there is a badminton court on-site.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful and ensures that students understand the material thoroughly. Weekly assignments are given to reinforce learning. Overall, the teaching quality is good, and industrial visits provide practical exposure. Semester exams are straightforward, primarily based on classroom learning, and generally manageable.
Other: I chose this course because it offers academic excellence and prepares students for their future careers. The lab sessions and industrial visits are highlights of the course. However, I believe the curriculum could benefit from additional or optional courses to enhance feasibility for students. Fests typically occur in February and November, featuring celebrity performances and attracting large crowds. There are various clubs to join, including drama, singing, adventure, and photography. UPES also offers a range of scholarships based on the course. The campus is naturally vibrant, with a museum, sports courts, cafes, and ample sitting areas for relaxation.

M.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics (Dietetics and Holistic Wellness) - Batch of 2024
4.2

My memorable journey of UPES.
Placements: M.Sc. nutrition and dietetics always have less placement there are very few companies that hire us in campus drives. Other course like BE, MBA, and BCA have great placement, but only 12 companies come for recruiting. Steadfast nutritions, Apollo hospital, Abbott, VLCC healthcare, habit health, and health are companies. Salary after course is 3.6 to 4.8 LPA. In every company, we need to work as interns for first 6 month after performance roles are given. nutritionist profile is among top.
Infrastructure: College has two separate campuses as It's small because it's situated in a mountainous area. There is always a parking issue; space is very limited. College classrooms are very special. The library is also big, and books are arranged properly. One library is always available for service in exams; it is open the whole day. Hostel rooms are triple-sharing; there are common washrooms and bathrooms. The mess floor is very average, not good at all. The hostel feels very high, so it is not worth it. The time is very early (8 p.m.).
Faculty: Our department is very small, but teachers are very helpful and always interested in doing research activities. They are enthusiastic, Ph.D.-qualified professionals. The course curriculum is very large and has subjects like sports nutrition, dietetics, and nutritional science that are practical-oriented and useful in daily life as well. Exams are theory-based, but few marks are for practical university exams themselves. Difficulty is above average.
Other: Be aware of students; some are like snakes; they will always betray; choose friends wisely.

B.Sc. in Clinical Research (Regulatory Affairs) - Batch of 2025

Promising Career Path, Room for Curriculum Growth.
Placements: Placement rates typically range from 70-80% Salary package vary. Top recruiters include prominent pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations. Internship opportunities are diverse, preparing students for role like Clinical Research Associate and Data Managers.
Infrastructure: The B.Sc. Clinical Research course infrastructure meet basic needs but require modernization. Hostel facilities offer average rooms and cleanliness with satisfactory food quality. Basic medical and sports amenities are available but could be improved.
Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful and qualified, though quality could be improved. The curriculum covers basics but lack depth for industry readiness. Exams are moderate challenging with a reasonable pass rate. Overall, room for improvement exist in faculty expertise, curriculum depth, and exam rigour.
Other: B.Sc. Clinical Research attracts individuals passionate about advancing healthcare through quality education and hands-on experiences. While offering practical learning and research opportunities, there's a need to enhance curriculum relevance and career guidance. Campus life thrives with diverse events, fostering a vibrant community.

B.Sc. in Microbiology (Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology) - Batch of 2026

Very good Allied Health Sciences Courses .
Placements: The highest placement offered for a masters student in this college is 40K per month (entry level). Internships are mandatory every 2 semesters which can either be assigned by the college, or be chosen by self (with ready aid from professors). Offers have been made from Biomerueux and Cipla.
Infrastructure: School of Health Sciences has a beautiful view of the mountains with a bright and cheerful atmosphere. The labs are spacious and are able to host a variety of experiments. Hostel has clean washrooms, along with a good mess hall providing healthy food. There are good Wi-Fi connections along with both outdoor and indoor gaming facilities.
Faculty: Most faculty are highly experienced researchers with great insights in their respective fields. The quality of the Health Science faculty, especially the Allied Health cluster, is a highlight of SoHST. Course curriculum is always aimed to be relevant to industry requirements and consider student feedback. Semester exams are of fairly moderate difficult, with 50% pass percentage.

My life at UPES was filled with joy and fun.
Placements: Most of the students for sure get a placement from this college with an average package of around 5 6 Lacs for my course. Top companies recruiting the students include ET Pharma and Reddy’s lab. The students start to get internship offers from the first year itself. In their final year, they are mostly working in some big company as an intern.
Infrastructure: The college provides a very good infrastructure facility in the campus. The surrounding environment is also very good, giving the students a very close vibe to the nature. You get excellent hostel facilities with good food and a canteen which provides food 24*7.
Faculty: The college has excellent facilities, especially if I talk about my course in which the teachers provide guidance to the students at every step trying to make your life as easy as they can. They have a great understanding of their subjects. They help the students to become ready for the future.
Other: The college has all the facilities.

Decent experience, but fees do not seem worth it sometimes.
Placements: The batch I am currently enrolled in is the third batch in our course. The first batch of our course is passing out this year and so far, the placements provided by the college have been disappointing. Since it is our first batch, it does make sense that their placements would not be at high-paying jobs; still, it is concerning for younger batches as the ROI is very low. I hope this will change soon. Most of my seniors have already been or have chosen to pursue post-graduation.
Infrastructure: One of the best things about UPES is the infrastructure of the Bidholi campus. Students are provided with a well-equipped library with a vast variety of reference books on almost every topic to study from. The classrooms of newer blocks are well furnished and functional; holder blocks lack some of this but the university is working on renovating many of these old classrooms. The Wi-Fi is a bit unreliable, as not everyone is able to properly connect with it and it does not always provide a good connection. I am not an on-campus hosteler so I am not that knowledgeable about situations within hostels.
Faculty: Generally, most faculty are well qualified to teach us, though some need to change their approach or method of interacting with their students. Overall, the course syllabus is apt for the course and it's subjects. The examinations seem fair and just, but the university needs to work on handling issues with difficult faculty better when they proclaim that the student will always be put first and yet do not act like so.
Other: The major factor in choosing this university ultimately comes down to being able to afford the full course duration. The university is way too expensive for the majority of students in the country who come from lower-middle-class backgrounds. It doesn't help that they keep increasing the feels every year for each new batch of students when, in all honesty, the monetary value is not utilised well enough by the college. It is one thing that is most disappointing about UPES.
