BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery - Batch of 2025
4.4
4Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Satisfied with the faculty, good placements as of 2024, fair infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Our batch only had 54 students, but considering it was the 2020 batch, we were the least in number due to COVID. But other batches have more than 70 members each. It costs around 1.5 Lacs per year for a government-allotted seat through NEET, around 3.5 Lacs for a NEET-allotted private seat, and around 4.5 Lacs for management seats. Most people go for PG NEET to complete their Masters, open their own clinics, or work in different clinics. All passed-out students get a year of internship in the adjoining Sharavathi Dental Hospital.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of course facilities is good, with many working dental chairs. Everything is divided into different departments to get proper training in each. The hostel could be better and I mean a lot better. The washrooms, after weekends, have a lot of insects, but on weekdays, they're hygienic and clean. The food could do a lot better in taste, but health-wise, it's not bad.
Faculty: The faculty members are qualified and teach very professionally and solve any doubts that might occur. The curriculum is organized and prepares the students for future work. The exams are annually conducted by the University itself. They're difficult sometimes but not others. The percentage of passing is around 96-98% every year.
Other: The scope for this course is high. It's pretty good if you're planning on going out of India for work. Some of the best things about the course are hands-on experience in treating patients and handling any emergency situations that may rise. All events and extracurricular activities are mostly planned by the interns that year. Some other events are planned by non-teaching and teaching staff.

Normal infrastructure but good faculties.
Placements: Students scored well marks in exams and almost all students pass every year. If we study well and prepare for NEET - UG, we get better colleges for future studies and to get government jobs. Otherwise, we need to set up our own clinic to serve people, like in villages.
Infrastructure: The college is good, classrooms and labs are also good. The hostel is better for study; it's also good but the canteen food is not good. In the hostel, a single room is shared by 2 persons and there is no attached bathroom, but we have sufficient bathrooms to use. There are no difficulties in the hostel.
Faculty: Lecturers are chill and they are good at teaching with their better knowledge. They are good in their field. They try to understand the concept, not just come and tell something. They try to understand the subject by going deep into the subject to know what it is and what it deals with.
Other: Our batch name is Stellars and total we are 83 students. More girls compared to boys in our batch.

Absolutely satisfied with good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Since it is a dental college, there are no companies hiring students, so there are no placements. Here, a student, after completing his graduation, can start his own clinic or prepare for higher studies. Unlike other courses like engineering, there are no companies hiring students.
Infrastructure: Our college is present along with the hospital and students get good clinical exposure. There are classrooms, labs, etc. In the third floor, these are well maintained and kept. We have a huge central library. The quality of hostel facility is satisfactory; our hostel has 32 rooms, well-maintained toilets and batch rooms and is under cctv surveillance. Food available in the canteen is also good but the major problem here is the sanitation. The college also supports sports and other events and also have good medical facilities .
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and well trained. There are only a few teachers who put efforts into teaching and visualize the concepts; others just go on skipping slides and this makes students read on their own. The course curriculum is satisfactory and relevant. The semester exams are difficult and the pass percentage is low.
Other: I chose this course because it promises stress-free work that is not hectic and assures good income for the lively hood. More clinical exposure from the beginning of the course is required. Our college has a fest every year and students get a SSP scholarship if they have applied for it. The campus crowd is good, with many students studying here. The college also supports other extracurricular activities .

Concise review of Sharavati Dental College and Hospital.
Placements: It's not like engineering colleges where we receive placement offers; instead, an internship is compulsory for everyone, and a decent stipend of 2000 INR is paid to interns per month. It is less, but compared to other private institutions, at least we are not doing it for free.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is beautiful and well maintained by the authorities. We have a very good hospital with a high patient flow. The classrooms are spacious, with respective practical labs equipped with necessary tools. A central library is also present, housing almost all relevant books. The hostel facility is good; it is well maintained hygienically, and the mess food is good at times.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, cooperative, and qualified, with vast knowledge in their respective fields. They are friendly, so any doubts can be clarified by them. Our college comes under RGUHS - Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, so the exams are conducted yearly, and the level of difficulty is moderate to high. However, the teachers and internal exams prepare us well for the final exams.
Other: I chose this course because, apart from MBBS, I felt BDS has a great future, both in India and abroad.
