The best commerce college in South Kolkata.

Placements: For our batch, only TCS came for placements. They gave training to all the interested students. Then they took an aptitude test to shortlist the students. A lot of students were placed through the training programme. Personally, I felt that the package they were offering was a bit lower than other companies.

Review for Sivanath Sastri College.

Placements: The placements were nice but the notice for placements are not given properly. Big companies do not come. We have heard about this but we do not know if this really takes place properly or not. Though more requests are being sent for placements to the authority, actions have not been taken yet. The B.Com section of our college is famous but still, the placements are not as required.

Satisfied with the faculty.

Placements: The placement was average as every second student was pursuing a professional course like CA, CS and CWA along with B.Com. Around 60% of the students were placed in reputed organizations with a decent pay scale. The roles of an executive accountant or tax consultant were basically offered to the students.

A decent college in Kolkata.

Placements: The college did not put much efforts in placement but few organizations visit for placement. Consistently many organizations like TCS, Insightful, Wipro, etc. recruit the students. They take an exam and after that, those meriting hopefuls are put in these organizations with an extremely amazing pay.

It’s an old college and has a good reputation in Kolkata. The faculty members are good. But there is lack of discipline and students hardly attend classes. Campus is not that great and not much activities or clubs to participate. Canteen is also not that great, food doesn't tastes well. I would say it’s a college with good faculty members but has no college life.

I had joined Shivanath Shastri College or south city college morning. It’s a very famous and well known college. I got 85% in class 12 and joined this college. Teachers here are professors who have written books. One of the being monilal das sir who wrote accounts books. Their timing is also wonderful. So we get time to continue with other courses like ca. Fees of the college is very low and any can afford. Classes are very big with mic. One of the best college I have known.

The best college for COMMERCE.

Placements: There's more than 700 students in B.Com course in our college. I am a fresher so right now I don't know about the placement in my college. But they are offering internship from the first semester offering 10,000 rupees per month. You'll get a good placement after graduation or even when you're pursuing the degree.

College Life: A comprehensive review.

Placements: Process executive, accountant, data entry specialists, web chat process analyst, and admin work are the top job roles. 10% of the students got internships at TCS and 5% at Genpact. The college ambience and education quality are A grade. The salary package offered is satisfactory.

It is a very good college with good environment.

Placements: Our college offers are very good. They offer good jobs for all the girls out there. It helps them to be independent and be financially stable. Many girls got good jobs from outside companies after being a student in seventh Sastri college. They build a good career.

The best thing is faculty.

Placements: The highest was Rs.5 Lacs and the lowest was Rs.3.5 Lacs approximately. There are many top recruiting companies coming to offer through the college placement cell like Delloite, PandG, Wipro, EandY, etc. The placement cell provides many opportunities and also train the students for their interviews in future.

Overall, I am satisfied with all the things provided by the college.

Placements: Sivanath Sastri College is a government college, so our college doesn't provide proper campus placements, and the degree is enough to grab jobs. Only one or two companies visit our college to recruit students on the campus, but only for B.Com students. The average salary package offered ranges from 1.8-2.2 LPA.

Good college but there is room for improvement.

Placements: There were placements but most were BPO oriented jobs. TCS came to offer training and BPO jobs. ICICI bank offered insurance oriented job. There was no facility for internship. Many students did not participate because we were interested in accountancy jobs and not BPO.
