Placements: The placements were not that good. Around 50 students got into TCS, 5 to 6 in L&T Infotech and 1 or 2 in some other company, 1 in Johnson control (from CSE). The placements overall in Kolkata were very bad Our college did not do that great, but I would say it was still okay, the people who deserved got a job.

Placements: Talking about the placements, SMIT doesn't provide the great placements, but you can expect for the placements if you have passed with a CGPA of at least 7.5. There are some things that you need to know if you are taking the admission only for the placement purposes. They are: 1) Regarding diploma, the placements are better for the core branches. 2) Even SMIT gives more placements to the core branch students. 3) The placements are horrible for the computer science students.
