The college is good, you get good education, and can live a college life.

Faculty: The teachers are well educated and qualified. Everyone is friendly, and they teach us very well. No one is late for the classes. The semester exams are tough, and the passing mark is 35%. I think it does not make the students industry-ready, as the college does not take students on industrial visits.

Overall, the college experience was okay for me. Someone who wants to explore nearby locations.

Faculty: There were a few faculty members who didn't put much effort into teaching, but on the other hand, there were a few teachers who were really great at their jobs, and I loved attending their lectures. The passing criteria are very easy, and it's easy to score in internals. You won't have to study that hard for exams. We don't get much practical experience or industry exposure.

Total experience and review by an ex student.

Faculty: The teachers lack helpfulness, but the course is highly relevant and regularly updated with industry-ready skills. Although the semester exams are challenging, with proper studying, passing them becomes manageable. However, the teaching proficiency and fluency of the faculty are questionable, and there is a noticeable bias and disappointing lack of care for students' needs. The overall quality of teaching is superb.

A short summary of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

Faculty: The faculty members are good overall, but the best and most qualified ones are in the Mechanical and Computer Science branches. The classes are engaging and very much application-based, especially the course offered in the CSE department, which is very helpful when it comes to real-world problems. The examination is very good, with a level that is moderate to difficult. The pass percentage would be approximately 60 percent.

The college is good, but there is no outside life, like no markets or malls.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach politely and gently. They do try to make students industry-ready, but it ultimately depends on the students; if they don’t want to engage, it’s quite impossible. Regarding exams, the structure here is good. There are five exams in total: two quizzes, two sessionals, and a semester exam. The quizzes are worth five marks, sessionals are 15 marks each, and the semester exam is 50 marks. The remaining 10 marks come from five mar...

I am happy with my decision to join college as it is better than my expectations.

Faculty: Lecturers and professors are well-qualified. Teachers in our department are very helpful in both academic and non-academic fields. The rule of exams is that there are 2 semesters every year, and in each semester, 2 sessional exams are conducted for 50 marks, and 2 quizzes are conducted for 10 marks.

Life at Smit - an experience.

Faculty: The teachers were friendly and helpful, and the curriculum was relevant and prepared me for the industry. The exams were moderate to hard, and the pass percentage was around 60%.

I am satisfied with the college in terms of faculty and placements.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful and they were knowledgeable about their teaching processes. This course is curriculum relevant and it does make students industry-ready. Exams are tough but one can pass them by preparing thoroughly and the pass percentage is 97 to 98 percent.

Education in the mountains.

Faculty: The faculty present in the college is too good as they have a lot of knowledge. Faculty members here strive for excellence of the students and work hard to make every student learn at their best. Exams are regularly conducted so that no students lag behind.

Absolutely amazing and worth remembering experience.

Faculty: The academics at SMIT are managed by highly qualified professors at Sikkim Manipal University. Each semester, there are two different kinds of examinations: quizzes 1 and 2, and sessional 1 and 2, which also include assignments and lab sessions. Each semester is neither easy nor hard to crack; it totally depends on the students.

Short and honest review of my college.

Faculty: There is too much load of exams after every 20 days. There is an exam for every 20 days. The full semester is divided into 2 quizzes, 2 seasonal exams, 1 lab exam, and 1 final semester exam. Courses are not that tough if you will be regular. 1 semester is of approximately 22 credits.

Why you should not come to SMIT by a 2023 CSE passout!

Faculty: The good faculty members have mostly left. I do not mean to dishonor any teacher but many of them are full of ego. especially the ones sitting at the top. They might be very knowledgeable, having published so many research papers but they do not know how to impart that knowledge. One thing I would like to mention is that teachers are approachable. They will try their best to make you understand. Many of them are friendly as well and will try their best to help you, even on a personal level. But ...

Absolutely a value for money.

Faculty: Our teachers are the best mentors you will ever get in your life. They are helpful, qualified, knowledgeable, and very good at teaching. They will help you in every way to get you ready for the upcoming world. If you focus on your studies, nothing is holding you back from passing the examination.

This college, in general, is a good college.

Faculty: Faculty is moderate but better than other Bachelor colleges in Sikkim. Teachers are very helpful and the way they approach academically is impeccable too. The course curriculum is relevant but not upto the mark for students who plan to sit for all India exams.

Excellent infrastructure, well experienced faculty & one of the best learning environment in India.

Faculty: Undoubtedly, SMIT provides one of the best education in India. Aligning with the latest trends in terms of Techno, the curriculum is updated frequently. The faculty members are more like parents providing all sorts of assistance in terms of Academics and well as non-academic matters. Along with the course curriculum, every department organizes numerous workshops, industrial visits and seminars to make the student's industry ready. The exams are divided into internal and external exams where the ...
